 Program Title (Process Criteria)

o Smash it like "Happy."

 General Program Purpose

o A relapse prevention program designed to use golf for those with Stimulant Use
Disorder (SUD) for Cocaine.

 Program Description
o The program is designed for individuals with SUD for Cocaine that are 18 and
older. The participants are in an inpatient facility and nearing their discharge. All
genders can participate in this program. Smash it like "Happy" can be done in
both a group and individual setting depending on a client's specific comorbidities
that may interfere with the group setting. The preferred method is to be done in a
group setting. Using the game of golf and teaching techniques and principles of
the game to the group's participants. They are provided the opportunity to grow in
emotional control, coping ahead, and dealing with triggering events.

 Program Outcomes
o The participants in the intervention will see an improvement in their emotional
control.
o The participants will be able to demonstrate an ability to cope ahead with stressful
events.
o The participants will be able to use coping strategies to help with overcoming
triggering events related to relapsing on the substance.

 Client Problems
o Trauma
 The participants can be dealing with trauma from past experiences or
adverse childhood experiences. Using the substance was their way of
coping. Providing alternative ways to deal with the triggering events
without using the substance will be addressed in this program.
o Impaired Mental Health
 The participants will often have a comorbid disorder with their SUD. The
skills learned through Smash it like "Happy" program, will help with the
SUD and other mental health disorders.
o Impaired Physical Health
 Participants may be experiencing problems with their physical health. The
game of golf will require some physical activity. Requiring them to move
slower or need carts to get around the course instead of moving
independently.
o Relapse
 The participants are at high risk of relapse when they leave an inpatient
setting. Providing them with resources to help prevent that is the purpose
of this group.
