"I was once a pushover.

"

Being insulted as a child is never easy, and there will come a time when we'll have to
experience being insulted by others because we may behave, talk, think, or look a
little different, and it was tough for me to fit in as a child. II was trapped in that
process of being in the "in" group because I didn't want to be different from others. I
remember being insulted, or feeling the closest to being insulted, when I was in
primary school, I attempted to do the same things that my fellow students did; I tried
to act in an attention-seeking manner, and I tried bringing to school the famous toys at
the time, I tried to be someone different, and honestly, it was very nerve-racking.
Even to this day, I remember being a kid in primary school, trying my hardest to be
recognized, always bringing certain toys just so that some of my classmates would
talk to me. Maybe all I ever wanted at that time was a friend, someone to talk to, and
somebody who acknowledges me for who I am, but it's never that simple, and sooner
or later during my childhood, I decided to just be myself. I knew that because I chose
to be different, I would encounter obstacles and that my classmates would constantly
irritate me simply because I am not just like them. Time has flown by, and I was
thankful that I was given people who appreciated me for who I truly am. Later in life,
I learned and realized that no matter what we do, the people around us will always
talk; we do good, they will talk; we do bad, they will talk (albeit more ferociously and
seriously); and that no matter what we do, people will talk, so just do what you do and
let them talk. Being insulted is never okay for the person being talked about, and
relying on how you take it, you may or may not be depressed as a result; however, the
bottom line is that we can choose whether or not to be exacerbated; our lives are short,
and we should not always think about what other people say about us; those who truly
love us will accept us for who we are.
