Lorna has been diagnosed to have diabetes. She is overweight and has been placed on a 1,200-
calorie diet by her physician. She finds it really hard to follow the diet. She is often hungry.
When someone has diabetes, nutrition, or healthy food intake, is a vital aspect of living a
healthy lifestyle. Lorna, in this case, has been ordered by her doctor to follow a diet of 1200
calories. With this in mind, she must strictly monitor her food consumption, particularly
high-calorie foods. Vegetables, fruits, and grains should be included in her daily diet.
Protein-rich foods, as well as nonfat or low-fat dairy. Lorna, on the other hand, should
restrict or avoid foods high in saturated or trans fat, foods high in sodium, sweets and
beverages with added sugar.

Protein is a vital make-up and functioning material in all cells. It is important yet almost always
deficient in the Filipino diet. Most people in the United States, however, obtain more protein
than they need.
Meat, milk, and eggs are good sources like legumes, grains, and vegetables.

must receive enough protein but cannot afford the more expensive sources.
