GATE GENERATORS In number 4 I mentioned Hyperspace Gates as one method of traversing through the æther without exploding. Very few old-tech ships have portable gate generators. Unlike station based gates which have fixed locations, portable ones are temporary. These require the use of Astrology and the attendant paraphernalia, charts, sextants and so on.
