Ethical Dilemma

Analyze the given scenario.

The ship is sinking and the seas are rough. All but one lifeboat has been destroyed. The lifeboat holds a
maximum of six people. There are ten people who want to board the lifeboat. The four individuals who
do not board the boat will certainly die.

Woman who thinks she is six weeks pregnant .

Lifeguard .
Two young adults who recently married ,,
Senior citizen who has fifteen grandchildren ,,
Elementary school teacher .
Thirteen-year-old twins .
Veteran nurse .
Captain of the ship ,,

Explain comprehensively your reasons why these six (6) people you chose deserve to be saved.

6 people that I chose to be saved

The first person that I will save is the woman who thinks that she is six weeks pregnant. Woman
instincts are always right. To save a pregnant woman will save three lives as her family is probably
waiting and a child will be born. As a result, she clearly needs to be on a lifeboat.

I believe the twins should be on the lifeboat because they are still young and have a bright future
ahead of them. The two kids should live since they are young kids, and we cannot abandon one and
take the other. They will make the world a better place as soon as they reach adult years.

I would have carefully selected the Lifeguard because he'd have a lot of expertise and would have
been responsible for leading the others to shore, which would be very beneficial because he knows
CPR and the most lives and possibilities would be lost.

The veteran nurse must therefore stay as she has experience with sick or injured citizens. She'd be a
great complement to the group. In this case, she is present if someone is in poor health and the boat
is still searching for assistance. She has the potential to save even more lives.

The last person I'll mention is the teacher. Many children need to understand and value the world
more, and an educator is knowledgeable about it. An educator does more than just teach. They also
empower and motivate the youth to be their better beings. They have a significant impact on the lives
of younger generations.

People that I not chose to be saved

The captain should perish whereas a captain must always perish with his ship. On a ship, the
Commander is in charge of everything. His choices are made to ensure the protection of public health,
team, ship, as well as the situation.

The old woman has fifteen grandchildren. In this case, her grandchildren have their parents to love
and care for them. The old woman already conquered the world unlike the twins. She already saw
how the world changes and since that she is old, she only have how many years left until her last
breath.

I made the decision not to let the two newlywed grown ups not save because there are not enough
areas, but also that I thought they can indeed end up dying with the ones they love, which would have
been a more contented death than the majority of these people. Those two who will be together
forever as they're more likely very in love and do everything for one another.
