David and Emma love summers. “They are sunflower seeds,”


They stay on Grandma’s farm. says Grandma.
They walk among the flowers and trees. “Where do they come from?”
One day they find some seeds. asks Emma.
“What are these?” asks David. “They come from sunflowers,” says
Grandma. “The flowers make the seeds.”

Grandma shows them the sunflowers. Emma and David fill a box with soil.
The tall flowers are yellow and brown. Grandma helps them plant the seeds.
“Shall we leave the seeds?” asks David. They water the seeds.
“Let’s plant them instead,” They wait.
says Grandma.

David and Emma look in the box “The plants must grow big,”
every day. says Grandma.
After about ten days, they see “When summer ends, you will
tiny stems. see flowers.”
They see tiny leaves among the stems. “I have another question,” says David.
“But where are the flowers?” “Will the flowers have seeds?”
asks Emma.
