My insight about directing people is that from the word DIRECTING which means
to instruct, guide and oversee the performance of the workers toachieved
predetermined goals. Directing is said to be the heart of management process.
Planning, organizing, staffing have got no importance if direction function does not take
place.It is a continuous managerial process that goes on throughout the life of
the organization.
Beside the statutory duties, the general duties of the directors are; (1) duty of
good faith: directors must act honestly and diligently in the interest of the company or
organization; (2) duty of reasonable care; (3) Duty to promote the success of the
company; (4) personal attendance; (5) duty to act within powers.
One good characteristic of being director is the human factor. Since all
employees are different and behave differently in different situations, it becomes
important for the managers to tackle the situations appropriately. Thus, directing is a
significant function that gets the work done by the employees and increases the growth
of the organization.
Yet we can handle stress in healthy ways; (1) eat and drink to optimize
your health; (2) exercise regularly; (3) stop using nicotine products; (4) reduce triggers
of stress;(5) practice relaxation techniques; (6) examine your values and live with them;
(7) assert yourself; (8) set realistic goals and expectations.
To avoid the negative effects of chronic stress and burnout, we need time
to replenish and return to our pre-stress level of functioning. Take time to recharge.
