TOPIC 7: SHOPPERS SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO USE THEIR OWN BAGS

I agree that stores should require shoppers to use their own bags for three reasons.
First, it will help save money for shops and shoppers because if shoppers use their own
bag the shop will pay money to buy bags to sell to the shopper, and the shoppers will not
pay money to buy bags. Seconds, for the human health and environment: less plastic
bags, less rubbish… A large amount of plastic bags are discharged into rivers and seas
pollute the water and marine environment so if you use their own bags we will reduce the
amount of waste released into the environment. Additionally, plastic smoke contains
dioxin, which causes respiratory diseases such as difficulty breathing, coughing up blood,
and birth defects in children. More serious, food in plastic bags can be poisoned, cause
cancer, and weaken the human immune system. For the above reason, I agree that we
should ask consumers to use their bags to protect the environment and human health.
