“When you think of the earliest
years where the fair was held not
here, it was in downtown Medi-
na on the square. Imagine today
what a fair would look like there.
Well, this is a whole lot better
place. This is, of course, a great
event, and just shows over the
years how much we’ve continued
to grow and prosper. It all obvi-
ously benefits not only you, your
families, but also our great County
and our great country. Thank you
all for participating and enjoy the
fair. Let’s pray for good weather.”

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine
has announced that more Ohio-
ans are now eligible for electric
and natural gas assistance from
the Ohio Department of Develop-
ment and Public Utilities Commis-
sion of Ohio (PUCO).
On Thursday, July 28, Gover-
nor DeWine signed Executive Or-
der 2022-12D, which authorizes
the Ohio Department of Develop-
ment to work in partnership with
PUCO to implement emergency
rules that increase the income
threshold for Ohio’s Percentage of
Income Payment Plan (PIPP).

Gettysburg Address Artwork Donated to County

Medina resident and retired attorney Stan Scheetz, right, presented the commis-
sioners with the above framed art of the Gettysburg Address signed by President
Abraham Lincoln in 1868. Scheetz said the artwork had been hanging in his law
office for 70 years. He expressed to the commissioners that he would like to see it
