Critical Thinking Approaches

Objective: Understand the various ways to approach critical thinking.

Instructions:
Use a decision that you’ve already referenced in other worksheets or select a
good or bad decision if you haven’t yet completed the other worksheets. Then,
repeat the process for another decision, if you have time.

Decision:

Answer these questions related to the issue where you made a decision:

Seeking out evidence: “What makes you think that way about the issue you
had to decide on?”

Explaining: “What are some of the causes that led to thinking that way?”

Relating concepts, ideas, and opinions: “How does that compare to similar
issues and decisions?”

Predicting: “What will you do next in relation to that issue?”

Describing: “What did you observe happening related to that issue and
decision?”
