PROJECT PROPOSAL
Project Title: “SINSILYO NIMO, TSINELAS NAKO PROJECT”

Project Venue: Purok Magsasaka, Tua-tua, Matiao, City of Mati

Source of Funds: Donation

Budget Amount: P 6,000.00

I. Rationale:

This pandemic has brought change to every human being in this world. Poverty has many
faces from place to place and across time and has been described in many ways, poverty is a
situation many want to escape. So, poverty is a call to action-for the poor and the wealthy
alike- a call to change the world so that many more may have enough to eat, adequate shelter,
access to education and health, protection from violence, and a voice that happens in their
communities (The World Bank Organization). In this case, I am more concerned on the child’s
health condition since it is proven by a study that footwear has role in protection against a
range of Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) (Ayode, et al, 2013). Shoes and slippers were
thought to confer dignity as well as protection against injury and cold. However, many practical
and social barriers prevented the desire to wear shoes and slippers because of limited
financial resources meant that people will be able to buy their food first than having a new pair
of shoes or slippers. That is why, I came to think of the idea of having a fundraising project in
our school, that will be participated by the teachers, parents, pupils, stakeholders and partners
which is entitled, “SINSILYO NIMO, TSINELAS NAKO”.

The direct beneficiaries of this project are the 54 pupils who are under Pantawid Pamilyang
Pilipino Program (4Ps) of Fausta Salazar Como Memorial School, because it is already known
to us that most of the beneficiaries belong to the households whose economic condition is
equal to or below the provincial poverty threshold. This fundraising project aims to promote

message and goal to help the needy, to make friends and build partnership and develop
community relationships. This project will also serve as an avenue to inform and educate the
community about what the school is doing and the part it can play in it. Furthermore, this
project will somehow contribute relevance for preventing development and progression of a
variety diseases in a range of settings, helps children build their self-esteem, give hope that
their feet will be protected from infection and injuries, and most of all this is my way of showing
an unselfish heart, that I should learn to wear and feel other’s shoe and feel what they feel and
help and be an example to the society.

II. Project Objectives:

This project aims to:

1.. To help those children whose economic condition is equal to or below the provincial poverty
threshold

2.To prevent development and progression of common diseases

3. To instill the values of generosity, openhandedness, philanthropy, and unselfishness

4.To reconfirm or establish connection with others, uniquely embody and exemplify positive
characteristics.

5. To motivate, inspire and understand people to purposely prioritize situations, plans, people
and things while becoming more resilient to adversity and maintaining forward trajectory even
when things get tough.

IV. Project Description:

This “SINSILYO NIMO, TSINELAS NAKO Project” is an initiative partnered by the project
proponent, yours truly, and the Office of the Purok Chairman, headed by Mr. Elmer G. Cortel,
that aims to raise much needed financial support from partners and stakeholders to a mission.

However, the non-financial outcomes of this event are quite possibly the most important, and
usually, the most sustainable.

The direct beneficiaries of this project are the 54 pupils who are under Pantawid Pamilyang

Pilipino Program (4Ps) of Fausta Salazar Como Memorial School. This fundraising project is

very timely, since, everyone was affected by current global crisis. It is very important to

understand the significance of sharing. There are millions of people around the world who are

living in a poor and pitiful condition, that, they can’t even buy a pair of shoes or slippers. As the

song goes, “…walang nabubuhay para sa sarili lamang”. We should be responsible for care

and help to the people who are less fortunate than others. Sharing can be considered perfect

opportunity to bring a change in someone’s life, perhaps, this will encourage the children to

study and learn because someone had given them the hope and to feel good even in the worst

situation. Sharing boosts self-esteem, self-confidence and self-worthiness, that is very

essential to one’s mental health. Lastly, we can bring precious moments of happiness and

comfort to people just by giving little things but essential to life.

V. Project Beneficiary:

The direct beneficiaries of this Project are the 54 pupils who are under Pantawid Pamilyang

Pilipino Program (4Ps) of Fausta Salazar Como Memorial School and are bona fide residents

of Purok Magsasaka, Purok Happy Valley and Sitio Kawayan. The number of beneficiaries

was based on the CV Form 2 of the Department of Social Welfare and Development assigned

to the school.
