Welcome to the Book of the Dead! Inside these cursed pages you’ll find a horde of undead monsters for your
D&D games. Necromancers beware, not all of these monsters can be easily controlled.

Included in this book are templates that you can apply to other monsters, turning them into terrifying undead
monstrosities. Two formidable vampire NPCs make their 5th edition appearance here, The Black Duke and
Red Widow. A tactics section guides you on the best ways to handle each monster.

 Absorbing Undead
This grotesque creature appears to be two people in
the process of being fused together.
Feeds Through Flesh. This creature can absorb both
living and dead tissue, growing in power and healing
injuries.

Flesh Sculptor. The undead can absorb bodies

through touch, and prolonged contact with one is

deadly.

Asexual Reproduction. After absorbing enough mate-

rial, the undead creature splits into two copies, which

continue to seek out more flesh.

Tactics
This creature picks one creature to attempt to absorb,
and focuses on them. It will fight until slain.

 Allip
The nightmarish creature floating before you babbles
incessantly. You can feel a madness worming its way
into your thoughts.

Cursed with Madness. Allip are created when a per-

son dies while inflicted with a terrible madness. It can
inflict madness on others.

Seek Revenge. Allip remember their lives, particular-

ly those who tormented them. Once an allip rises, it
punishes them severely.

Undead Nature. This creature doesn’t require air,

food, drink, or sleep.

Tactics
Allip use their incorporeal movement to get into the
middle of a group of creatures. If no threats are pres-
ent, it uses Touch of Madness against charmed crea-
tures. If active enemies are present, it focuses attacks
on them, ignoring charmed creatures until later.

 Angel of Decay
A twisted reflection of a true angel, angels of decay are
undead creatures powered by death and decay. Their
form creates a pool of rot whenever they touch the
ground, polluting the land.
Essence of Death. Living creatures expel a specific
kind of energy upon death that angels of decay feed off
of. The very touch of these creatures brings death and
painfully rots the skin.
Angel of Death. Angels of decay appear like rotted
angels. Only a few feathers are left on the ragged rem-
nants of their wings.

Fountain of Death. Angels of decay bring death and
destruction wherever they go. Their form is so filled
with death energy that they radiate a decaying aura
when they touch the ground.
Undead Nature. This creature doesn’t require air,
food, drink, or sleep.

Tactics
Angels of Decay try to fight on the ground as much
as possible, where their rotting aura pollutes the land
and heals them. While powerful, they don’t have many

options in combat, so they focus on bringing down one
