MY TRIP

‘Start’ and the ‘Finish’ positions. Elicit what they

`` Focus pupils’ attention on the four positions where
Trip appears. Explain what they mean and how they
affect them when playing the game. Make sure they
understand the message in each of these positions.
`` Divide the class into two groups. Each group should
have a dice to play the game. Ask them to choose
any counter they wish. Tell pupils they can use the

at the back of the book. They can choose the faces
according to how they feel that day.
`` Explain the rules of the game. The first group
which identifies the members of the family at the
‘START’ begins playing. If both groups identify
the members at the same time, they then throw
the dice and the group with the highest number
begins. The first pupil in each group throws the dice
and places the counter on the number obtained. If
it falls on numbers 3, 5, 9 or 12, he/she has to follow
the instruction given. If it falls on any other number,
he/she has to describe the object depicted. If his/
her answer is correct, the group can go on playing
from their new position. If his/her answer is wrong,
they go back to their original position. The winner
is the pupil who gets to the ‘FINISH’ and describes
Trip’s backpack first.
