Many people prefer to use public transportation even though a number of people believe that personal

cars are the best mode of transportation. Because traffic congestion is made by private conveyances, that
is a reason why public transportation is advocated. From my point of view, everything has strengths and
limitations.
On the one hand, public transport can bring two main advantages for environment. Firstly, traffic
congestion is a serious problem in over the world therefore using public transport instead of private
vehicles can be a solution. For example, a bus can carry maximum 47 passengers but personal car just can
take from 2 to 7 people. Especial, motorbike is common in Vietnam and it can transfer 1 or 2 people.
Secondly, public transport can help to diminish emissions, it means that there will be a reduction in the
consumption of fossil fuels. Consequently, it will reduce air pollution and global warming issues.
On the contrary, public transportations have some weaknesses. In Vietnam, bus is not really convenient
because customers must wait 10-15 minutes and 30 minutes in rush hour. The route of bus takes a lot of
time. My route from my house to university is an example, I ride a bike it takes 30 minutes and I spend
1.5 hours for taking a bus. Furthermore, public buses or trains are not as safe and have some criminal
activities on such as pocket thieves are still being reported.
In summary, public transportation have many benefits for environment but government must improve it
more and more to attractive citizen using it. I would love to use public transport because it can help our
life better and better.
