 ◤ My Interest in Climate Change

▪I am a geology student, with experience
in environmental studies. I specifically
focus on volcanoes and have spent a
significant amount of time studying the
effects on climate from massive
eruptions. I’ve also looked into geologic
disasters triggered by the climate, such
as landslides and dam failures. To say
climate change and geology are
connected is really quite an
understatement.

Chosen Organization: Earthworks

▪In my time of studying environmental

geology in the field, I have seen
some of the destruction from mining
firsthand. The mining industry has a
significant impact on the world’s
climate just as well. Even more so as
it is through mining that fossil fuels
and materials for industry are
obtained.

My Message

▪ I want mining to become cleaner.

▪ I want others to think outside of what is typically
associated with climate change, such as recycling,
planting trees, eliminating fossil fuels and the dreaded
view on carbon dioxide.
▪ I want others to have a greater idea on where/how they
can help slow climate change.

My Audience

Younger Adults, the inheritors of the planet and unfortunately

the state that its in. Hopefully, they can be inspired into helping
or even pursuing the necessary change.
