It is the genesis of the earth where life takes place.

The definition of life is somewhat difficult to

deal with and something that needs to think about carefully. But according to the documentary
film, specifically, Robert Hazen a Geophysicist discussed about metabolism and genetics, they
were both rudiment of life. Life exists everywhere on earth and it is a continuous process. All
living organisms on earth strive hard in order to survive. Even bacteria became part of life,
accordingly, without bacteria we will never be exists. Life shows many characteristics that some
non-living organisms have those various traits. It is the properties of life that makes life a life.
All living organisms are made up of one or more cells that will make living things organized.
Humans and other organisms on earth undergo process which means they go through regulated
growth. Cells change its size and build many cells through the process of cell division.

The documentary video states or trying to say that life is unstable since it will go through
evolutionary process. Additionally, we all know that life has the ability to reproduce and
maintain homeostasis. For me, life refers to an aspect of existence. Different forms of life exist in
the planet with human beings and it has different process in order to live. In the video it tells that
process of reproduction of plants is different to the animals. Some plants reproduce through the
help of any insects which they transmit the pollen to other plants. But what makes the plants
similar to each other is the process of respiration which they use carbon dioxide that human
being produce. On a contrary, in respiration humans use oxygen that plants produce.

A different form of life on earth has its own way geared toward survival. Billions of billions of
years the structure and process of life are still the same in the present generation as well as the
existence of bacteria and processes such as the photosynthesis.

Does viruses consider alive? According to most of the biologists, viruses cannot be considered
alive. Viruses adapt to their environment but they are not made up of cells. According to the
documentary, they did not carry out metabolic function and not capable of reproduction.

The existing properties of life would be enough for me to understand what life and how
organisms and generation of species continuously reproduce themselves through the time.
Furthermore, we all know that the properties of life mentioned and discussed by the professors
were the prerequisite of life.
