company recently updated its website, has not currently made investments in a mobile app

Hi Carlos,

Dropping you a quick line because I noticed the recent website overhaul- good stuff, I love
the functionality and overall feel.
One of the best tools to complement and enhance your customer engagement beyond the
traditional website is a mobile application. The mobile app can be used to attract a large
pool of new potential customers and add greater stickiness to current customers
(increasing their lifetime value).

I have some thoughts as to potential themes, so ping me back if this is something you
would like to discuss further –

Best,
Steven

current app is not user friendly, has poor ASO, and does not offer clear value to users

Hi Mark,
I’ll just cut to the chase and tell you that I took a relatively in depth “field test” of your company’s
mobile application- there were some things that were not done properly. I am a consultant that
works with companies on helping them maximize mobile app value, so here is what I found:
1) The interface of your application is confusing and somewhat muddled, I believe this is limiting
user engagement.
2) I found your app below the 50th ranking for your primary keyword. Although you are in a
competitive industry, with some adjustments, you should be ranking much higher.
3) The actual purpose of your application is a bit foggy. I’m not sure what you want users to do. You
have advertisements strewn all over the user experience which further muddies the water

Anyway, I know you invested in your app, so it’s just a few steps further to get the most out of it. If
you would like to discuss further, drop me a line.
Best,
Ronald

company is spending big on advertising and marketing, but no mobile application

Hi Michael,
I noticed that [company name] has been steadily getting more aggressive in online advertising and marketing. I
will assume that attracting more customers is paramount right now for your growth strategy. With that said, I
wanted to suggest that you consider formulating a mobile application strategy. Here’s why it might make sense

1) Adwords’ cost per click has steadily been rising over the past 3-4 years – you may have a lower customer
acquisition rate utilizing app store optimization
2) Mobile applications are highly functional – it will enable you to engage with and granularly track behaviors
that you couldn’t do via a traditional website
3) A mobile application can serve to “round-out” your branding strategy by putting you front and center with
those customers who are mobile centric

I’ve got time later this week to discuss, so I’ll drop you my phone number –
Best,
Brian
