Distinguished delegates, participants, and partakers, a pleasant morning to all of you!

It gives me exceptional warmth and great pleasure to grace all of your presence in the interest of PAMET
Cagayan chapter, of its officials and its constituents.
Having been bestowed with this priceless opportunity, it gives me tremendous pride to deliver this
welcome speech amongst the most esteemed personalities who have shown significant contributions
towards the growth of this chapter.
As the current pandemic is evolving through phases, it also highlights the unparalleled efforts of medical
technologists in combatting this dreaded virus. True to its role of being the bedrock of medical practice,
medical technologists, known as clinical laboratory scientists at this present age, has an indispensable part
in containing the COVID-19 pandemic that cannot be overemphasized as they are also behind
establishing appropriate, accurate, and sustainable diagnostic testing capacities to respond to COVID-19
needs and ensuring timely release of laboratory data and linking data with surveillance data to inform
public health decision-making and response activities.
This present global crisis, stressful and disruptive as it is, could provide an opportunity to introduce
innovative approaches to delivering quality laboratory health services through learning modalities such as
this regional conference. This 15th PAMET Northern Luzon Regional Conference, with the theme
“PAMET NORTH on the R.I.S.E.: (Resilient, Innovative, Solid, and Excellent)”, will focus on topics on
uplifting the spirit of moral values, instilling positivity and resiliency amidst present-time challenges, and
adapting towards evolving laboratory practices of medical technologists. Furthermore, updates on
laboratory testing procedures and challenges inclined towards the profession will also be accentuated in
the foregoing conference.
Despite the extraordinary uncertainty in these trying times, we can chart a path forward towards setting
the whole association in the limelight of public health service and professional prominence. Marching
onwards as one community, we embrace change, strive to become better, and conquer all adversities
together as professionals for the welfare of our society. Your passion helps us all to unite and the energy
we create is what allows us to achieve our individual as well as group goals.
