RELEASE TO STAFF

FROM GNPC SENIOR STAFF UNION EXECUTIVE BODY

The Executive body of the Senior Staff Union (SSU) has noticed with grave concern a publication titled
‘Storm Brewing at GNPC over CEO’s erratic behaviour……. concerned workers petition board’ which
sought to suggest that some concerned staff of the Corporation submitted a petition to our board
which among other things made the following claims:

• that our CEO sanctioned some internal transfers contrary to the employee mobility and
transfer policy of the Corporation and
• that the CEO’s leadership style is causing financial loss to the Corporation

The Executive body of the Senior Staff Union wishes to state on record that we have not received any
complaint or grievance whatsoever from any person or group regarding the conduct of our Chief
Executive. Indeed, there is currently industrial harmony, and the prevailing atmosphere in the
Corporation is one of calmness. This act from a “faceless” source, is unfortunate and has been a source
of worry to some well-meaning members of our Union.

Although we cannot confirm if the said petition emanated from the Corporation, we do not condone
such acts as they are unprofessional. We therefore reminding members of the terms in our Condition
of Service especially on grievance management and admonish members to uphold it at all times. We
must fulfil our end of the bargain if we are to be morally empowered to request that management
does the same.

The Executive body would like to assure all concerned individuals, that management and the Union
are collaborating to improve the working and living conditions of workers taking cognizance of the
current economic outlook of the country and stipulations in our Conditions of Service. It is, therefore,
our collective responsibility to work in our various capacities in advancing the fortunes of the
Corporation while ensuring that we do so within the confines of law and procedure.

Let’s work together to jealously guard the peace we currently enjoy in the Corporation

ISSUED BY GNPC SENIOR STAFF UNION PRESIDENT
