Table 1-2. InfoCaster Manager Minimum System Requirements
Additional considerations for InfoCaster Manager hardware include the number of players
connected to it, how frequently you send updates to the players, and the size of the files being
transferred. Consider the following questions:
• Should InfoCaster Manager be its own dedicated system, or should it share a system with the
creation station?
• Should you run Windows XP Pro SP2, or Server 2008 R2 (which is recommended for ten or
more players)?
• How much hard drive space is required?
• How fast a connection/how fat a pipe do you need between InfoCaster Manager and the
players?

VGA and DVI These cards support VGA and DVI output.
VGA and DVI are standard computer monitor video signals. They provide a higher resolution and
more detail than composite or S-Video, resulting in images that are more crisp and clean, even on
large displays.
InfoCaster supports both Portrait and Landscape layouts on VGA or DVI systems, allowing a
display to be either vertically or horizontally aligned. For example, a 42 inch plasma screen could
be aligned vertically to provide a tall poster-like display at a movie theater.
Plasma and LCD screens with VGA or DVI inputs are capable of displaying progressive VGA
signals.
Note: All VGA cards require a minimum of 512MB onboard graphics memory.
