    I have downloaded and installed snort as informed in the document.
    Step2:
    Download the rules and paste it to the directory Step
    3:
    Configure the Snort.config file as mentioned below Change
    Step 4:
    Type the following cmd in command window in bin directory

    Changes to be made:
    Running the commands:

    snort -W

    snort -i 1 -c C:\Snort\etc\snort.conf -T
    snort -i 1 -c C:\Snort\etc\snort.conf -A console
