Worksheet on construction and solving equations

Note: Sometimes we are using some instructions and we have to use those
instructions to construct (make ) an equation and to solve the equations.

Example 1: The sum of two numbers is 10, and difference is 2.

Solution : Let one number is x and another number is y.
x + y = 10…………………..equation 1
x - y = 2…………………..equation 2

2x = 12
x = 12/2= 6.

Example 2. The sum of two numbers is 27, and their difference is 9. By forming two equations
And solving them ,find the two numbers .
Solution : Let one number is x and another number is y.
x + y = 27……………………..equation 1
x - y = 9………………………equation 2
2x = 36 or x= 36/2 = 18 y= 9
Q1 The sum of two numbers is 10, and their difference is 2. Find the two numbers.

Q3. The sum of two numbers is 50, and their difference is 4th even number. Find the two numbers.

Q5. Marry has two type of fruits . They are strawberries and mangoes. The sum of two type of fruits
is 38 and difference of two type of fruits is 14. Find there numbers>

Q6. The sum of two numbers is 60.and half of their difference is 10. Find the numbers.
