Episode 91 Search

When Nanami and I saw that the Duke of Caron’s

mansion had been smashed up in a spectacular
fashion, we searched the area……hoping to find
some clue as to where everyone went.
“It looks like there was a huge battle, but I don’t
see any destroyed magicrafts.”
“Yeah, I wonder what happened to them.”
The small parts of the magicrafts are scattered
around, so it looks like there were magicrafts
destroyed in the battle, but their main bodies were
gone……Jean once told me that there is a
company that collects magicrafts that have been
destroyed in wars, but I felt like they were being
collected too quickly.
“It’s no good. There’ s no clue.”
“Yuta, what should we do?”
“We’ll go to the nearest town and see if we can get
some information.”
“I wonder if it’s safe? I hope it’s not full of the bad
prince’s minions.”
“If we hide the magicrafts somewhere and walk
into town, no one will pay any attention to us.”
“Yeah, that’s right.”
The town we visited was a small town in the Duke
of Caron’s territory, and we went to a tavern there
to get some information. Even though it was late
in the evening, the tavern was very crowded, and
people were drinking noisily.
When we entered the restaurant, Nanami and I
took a seat at an empty table and ordered our
meals.
“Just food?”
“Yeah, just the food.”
“You know, our ale is really good.”
“Nanami wants some fruits.”
“All right, we’ll have one more of this fruit
platter.”
“Sure.”
It would be dangerous to ask around blindly, so
we decided to eat and listen to the conversations
around us first. If there had been a major battle, it
would be big news around here, and would be a
great subject during a drink. Perhaps there would
be a table talking about it.
And as I listened to the people at the next table, it
seemed that there had been a big battle in the
Duke of Caron’s territory last night, and as
expected, they were talking about it.
“In yesterday’s battle, it appears that Prince
Mushyim has moved the kingdom’s army.”
“War with our lord? Prince Mushym’s father-in-
law is Duke Caron, how is that possible?”
“It seems that the kingdom’s army wants to
pretend that the battle never happened, and they
were sneaking around hiding the traces of the
battle early in the morning.”
“How do you know all this?”
“My brother is in the Royal Army, and I’ve taken
on the job of transporting broken magicrafts.”
“I don’t know how they could let a private
company do a job like that, to cover it up.”
“Sounds like they were in a hurry.”
“You’re spouting that shit in here?”
“There’s no Royal Army here.”
I’m pretty sure there was a battle between
Mushym and the Duke of Caron…….Maybe they
will talk about the results of that battle and where
everyone went afterwards……With that in mind,
the conversation went on and they proceeded to
talk about the results of the battle.
“So, which side won the battle?”
“The Kingdom’s army, of course. They
outnumbered the duke forces.”
“Did they kill my lord?”
“No, he seems to have escaped, and now the Royal
Army is in pursuit.”
“Even if he escaped, there’s nowhere to run
against the Royal Army.”
“Looks like he escaped towards the Duke of
Reydemarte’s territory.”
“That’s the only place to run, because everything
else is in Prince Mushym’s sphere of influence.”
All right! I got the information I needed. If they
escaped, then they’re all definitely alive. The
Duchy of Reydemarte, which direction would that
be?
Later, after finishing our meal, we quietly asked
the tavern owner for the direction of the Duke of
Reydemarte’s domain and left the tavern.
“Is everyone okay?”
Nanami muttered worriedly.
“Alana and the others won’t be easily defeated.
They’ll be fine.”
“Yeah, they’re strong. They’ll be fine.”
I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t worried. We
returned to the place where we hid the magicrafts
and immediately set off for the Duke of
Reydemarte’s domain.
“We’ll be annihilated if we continue! Contact
Duke Caron and advise him to withdraw!”
Unfortunately, the difference in strength was
blatantly apparent in the results. The only ones
who were destroying the enemy properly were the
Iron Knights, Linnecarlo and Arthur, who were
riding magicrafts for ordinary riders.
“Jean, the Iron Knights and I will act as you help
Duke Caron escape to the Duke of Reydemarte’s
territory.”
“It’s a good thing I’m not the only one…….Alana,
you hear that?”
“Roger that. Lorgo stop the troops on the right
from advancing! Farma will concentrate on
escorting the ride carriers, while Emina and I will
hold off the enemy as we destroy them!”
“Lorgo, stop the enemy…….”
“Linnecarlo and Arthur, take out the enemy
magicrafts we missed in the rear! Don’t let any of
them get through.”
Linnecarlo voiced her dissatisfaction at Alana’s
words.
“You want me to work as a garbage scavenger?”
“You can’t help us while riding a general
magicraft. Even if you’re a Quadruple
Highlander, there are limits!”
“You’re right, but even with this magicraft, I’ll be
able to take out an enemy Highlander!”
Linnecarlo’s words were not false, and the fact
that she had already shot down nearly ten
magicrafts showed it.
Arthur is also doing his best, but he could barely
destroy two magicrafts. A regular Highlander
can’t show that much power in a regular
magicraft.
“Take it easy, all of you, because there’s no point
in getting hit here.”
The Duke of Caron rides his own ride carrier and
begins to flee in the direction of the Duke of
Reydemarte’s territory. All of the duke soldiers
follow him – as a result, the only ones who can
stop the enemy are the Iron Knights, Linnecarlo
and Arthur.
“Once Duke Caron enters Duke Reydemarte’s
territory, we’ll move out.”
Alana and Emina are as strong as they come, the
two of them have probably already destroyed 50
magicrafts, but the enemies are still coming out in
droves and their numbers don’t seem to be
decreasing. I don’t think they can keep fighting
for long if this continues.
“We’ve already entered the Duke of Reydemarte’s
territory. I’ve requested reinforcements in the
name of Crown Prince Yudin at the Duke of
Reydemarte’s castle, so you’re safe now. Please
take it easy and retreat as well.”
“All right, the Duke of Caron has entered the
territory of Duke Reydemarte.”
“Emina and I will hold off the enemy, while Jean
takes care of the others and stays back.”
“Thanks, Alana, take care.”
Once Lorgo, Farma, Linnecarlo, and Arthur are
inside, the ride carrier advances to the rear –
while only two people are stalling the progress of
the large army.
“Alana, I’ll take care of the rest. You go back to
the ride carrier.”
“Are you sure you’re up for this, Emina?”
“My Artemis has a stealth feature, so I can
disappear and run away if I have to.”
It’s true that Emina’s Artemis would manage to
escape even when surrounded by a large army.
“Alana, let Emina take care of that, and you
retreat.”
“All right, Emina, take it easy.”
After picking up Alana as well, we headed
towards the Duke of Reydemarte’s territory at full
speed.
After that, Emina, who had been holding off the
enemy until we entered the Duke of Reydemarte’s
territory, used her stealth function to disappear
and successfully escaped from the enemy forces.
We then met up with Emina in the depths of the
forest in the Reydemarte Duchy.
“It seems that the Duke of Caron’s army and the
Duke of Reydemarte’s army have joined forces.”
“It looks like they can hold out for a while. We’ll
call for reinforcements from the Duke of
Barelma’s army and begin our counterattack.”
“Will it be enough against the Royal Army?”
“The Duke of Caron’s, the Duke of Reydemarte’s,
and the Duke of Barelma’s armies all have a
combined total of about 300 magicrafts, so they’re
no match for them as it is.”
“What are you going to do, Linnecarlo?”
“There’s only one general in the kingdom’s army
who might be on my side.”
“It is General Orlea, isn’t it, sister?”
“Yes, I’m sure Orlea will be on our side. But I’d
have to see him in person for that to happen.”
“I’m pretty sure General Orlea is stationed in the
eastern fortress, not far from here, but it’s within
the……kingdom army’s sphere of influence,
sister.”
“That’s why we’re going covertly to the eastern
fortress.”
“Covertly?”
“Wouldn’t Emina’s magicraft be enough to get us
there?”
“What? Me?”
“Yes, you can take me and Arthur in your
Artemis.”
“Hey……I can’t fit three people in my Artemis.”
“You can if you push it, I’m slim and Arthur
packs compactly.”
“Why does Arthur have to ride with us in the first
place? You only need to convince the general,
right?”
“I believe Orlea knows where my Odin and
Arthur’s Sentor are kept, and I intend to retrieve
them while I’m at it, so he must come with us.”
“I see, well, it’s true that we’ll need Linnecarlo’s
Odin and Arthur’s Sentor to fight back against
Mushym from now.”
“Don’t touch my……weird parts.”
Thus, Emina, Linnecarlo, and Arthur went to the
eastern fortress, while we, with Yudin, went to
Duke Reydemarte’s castle to meet up with Duke
Caron.
“It’s full of enemies…….What should we do, Yuta,
force our way through?”
“It’s fine for now, but if more and more
reinforcements keep coming, it’s going to be a
problem, so I’d like to avoid them as much as
possible.”
“I wonder if we can move forward in that river or
something…….”
Nanami said, looking at the relatively large river
flowing nearby.
“It looks deep enough to hide us from the
enemy…….Speaking of which, can a magicraft go
underwater?”
“I don’t know about that. You’ll find out when
you go into the water.”
“I’m afraid of water getting into the cockpit……
Well, let’s give it a try.”
The river was deep, with water up to the chest of
Viktor, who was about 12 meters tall. This is not a
problem if I squat down a little. In addition, it
seems that the magicraft was properly
waterproofed, and water did not enter the cockpit.
It’s important to keep in mind, however, that we
shouldn’t stay underwater for too long because
we’ll run out of air.
We crouched down in the river – the enemy didn’t
seem to imagine that we were moving through the
river, and we were able to pass through the area
where their forces were watching without being
detected.
Once out of the enemy’s sight, we looked for a
place where we could go ashore……I found a
hollow point that was surrounded by trees and
was difficult to see. In the water, it was impossible
to talk over the external sound output, so I
gestured to Nanami and told her the spot where
we would land. The gestures seemed to be getting
through to Nanami, and we both made it to land
without any problems.
“There doesn’t seem to be any enemies around, so
let’s keep moving towards that forest, Nanami.”
“Yeah, okay.”
As I walked deeper into the forest, I heard
something loud, like the sound of metal clashing.
“What’s that sound?”
“I think it’s the sound of magicrafts fighting.”
“Someone’s fighting…….If we keep going, they’ll
find us. We’ll have to go around……”
“But Yuta, if someone is fighting, doesn’t that
mean that one of them could be an enemy, but the
other could be a friend?”
“You’re right…….If that’s the case, we can’t just
abandon them…….Nanami, let’s go to the
direction of the sound.”
We headed towards the battle with caution – we
soon arrived at a place where two groups were
fighting fiercely.
One group was a medium-sized unit of about 20
magicrafts and the other was a platoon of five
magicrafts. They were outnumbered, but the
smaller group was working well together and
fighting evenly.
“Now, which side are they on?”
Unfortunately, Nanami and I don’t have a beacon
crystal that can clearly identify friend and foe……
so what do we do?
“What are you going to do, Yuta? They’re both
similar magicrafts, and I don’t know which side
they’re on at all.”
“Hmmm……I have no choice but to be honest and
ask them.”
“What? Ask who?”
“Those guys that are fighting.”
“Yuta sometimes acts boldly and strangely.”
“Just leave it to me. I don’t want anything to
happen to Nanami, so keep a little distance.”
“Okay, but be careful.”
I responded to Nanami’s words by waving the
hand of my magicraft.
I went over to where the battle was taking place,
turned up the external sound output to maximum,
and spoke to them.
“Princess Linnecarlo’s mercenary troops, the Iron
Knights of the Warriors, have come to reinforce
you!”
I spoke to both groups, but the response was the
exact opposite.
“It’s a disgrace that the mercenary troops under
Linnecarlo’s command have come to reinforce
us!”
Someone from the small group of magicraft spoke.
“Insolent! Linnecarlo was not satisfied with
Prince Yudin’s loss to Prince Mushym in the
succession vote, and she tried to kill Prince
Mushym.”
This is a message from the medium-sized group’s
magicrafts, thank goodness for a clear response,
now it’s clear that the small group is on our side –
all I have to do is defeat the medium-sized group
and help the small group.
As long as I knew which one was the enemy, there
wouldn’t be a problem. I started attacking the
squadron of about 20 magicrafts.
I accelerate and quickly approach the enemy
troops who were engaged in a group battle. I
slammed my fist into a heavy class magicraft that
seemed to have a high level of defense, which was
positioned in the vanguard. The punched
magicraft easily deformed like a soft clay work
and fell backwards.
“That……guy easily destroyed Dodem’s B-grade
armor.”
A surprised voice came from what looked like the
enemy captain’s magicraft.
I picked up a large battle axe that was in the
hands of that heavy class of magicraft and
charged at the group of enemies while swinging it
around. They couldn’t keep up with my
movements at all, and their bodies were destroyed
one after another by the battleaxe I was swinging.
As soon as the battle began, Nanami immediately
joined the fray and used her sword to destroy two
magicrafts that had tried to get behind me. My
small group of allies didn’t stand idly by, and one
by one they surrounded and destroyed the enemy
troops whose formation had been completely
destroyed by my attack.
The last remaining enemy captain’s magicraft
swung a large sword and charged at Viktor,
shouting loudly but I easily caught the sword
attack with one hand.
“You……monster!”
I crushed the sword in my grip and slammed the
battle axe down over the captain’s plane’s head to
end this battle.
After the battle, the leader of the small group
came up to me and thanked me.
“Thank you very much! As expected of a
mercenary group directly under Princess
Linnecarlo, your strength is unbelievable.”
“No, more importantly, you are……”
“We’re Royal Guards, Princess Rhydiria
bodyguards.”
“How did you end up here?”
“Unfortunately, our master, Princess Rhydiria,
has been imprisoned by Prince Mushym along
with Duke Raydemarte, Duke Barelma, and Lord
Theseus. We were on our way to the Duke of
Reydemarte’s territory to ask his son to do his
best to save Princess Rhydiria, when we were
discovered by the enemy forces and a battle
ensued.”
“I see. I guess they all got caught after that. We’re
on our way to the Duke of Reydemarte’s territory,
so why don’t we go with you? We might run into
more enemies on the way.”
“That’s a great offer……but if you can help
us……I’d like to ask one favor in anticipation of
your overwhelming strength……”
“What is it?”
“We have a comrade with whom we have been
working, but he is currently surrounded and
being attacked by Mushym’s army in a nearby
fort. I thought that if we went to help him with
our forces, we would be beaten back, so I wanted
to borrow forces from the Duke of Reydemarte’s
army, but the fort is just barely holding, and I
wanted to go to his rescue as soon as possible. And
that’s when I met you guys. With your strength, I
thought it would be possible for you to defeat the
enemy army that was surrounding them. What do
you think, can you help me?”
“Well, we’d like to join our friends as soon as
possible, but we can’t just leave them in that
situation…Sure, we’ll help you rescue your
friends.”
I don’t know how many soldiers are in the fort,
but I thought it would definitely be a good thing to
have a few more allies in the future, so I accepted.
“ Thank you! Now let’s get to the fort!”
The fort was located on top of a small hill about
an hour’s travel from where I was. When I looked
at the fort, I saw that they were fighting, and that
an army of magicrafts were swarming the walls of
the fort. The fort’s magicrafts responded with
arrows and other weapons.
“There are about a hundred of them surrounding
the fort. How strong is the fort?”
“We have about thirty magicrafts, but there are
also several anti-magicrafts ballistae so the fort is
still holding on.”
“I’m guessing that’s the enemy commander’s
magicraft over there. Okay, we’re going to charge
into the enemy’s main camp and go on a rampage,
while you coordinate an attack with your allies in
the fort.”
“Are you two going to charge in there, isn’t it
dangerous?”
“I’ve been in tougher situations, besides this
magicraft is legendary in your country so I think
it’ll work.”
“I thought I recognized the legendary……
magicraft from somewhere, but I didn’t think it
was our national treasure, Viktor……How did
you manage to ride it……?”
“Princess Linnecarlo gave me permission to use
Viktor.”
“If Princess Linnecarlo, one of the Twelve
Heavenly Masters, trusts you that much, you
should be fine, then I leave it to you.”
Nanami and I decided to charge into the enemy’s
main camp. It’s a little dangerous to assume that
Viktor would be able to handle it.

Vol 4: Chapter 3
Kimidori Gorn-san lived in a log house on the lake shore.
There was a table set and a couch on the wooden deck. A pretty stylish
house with a small boat that could sail out to the lake immediately.
I was honestly surprised. Since he was kind of eccentric, I imagined he
would be like a mad scientist who hides his secret research facility in a cave
or some such.
「Welcome inside, nuru.」Kimidori Gorn-san said, while repeatedly
glancing at us. It seems that he really wants us to come inside. But, is it
really normal to invite strangers you just met so easily? Rather, it makes me
more cautious.
Normally, having Asha enter first would be the basis of an escort, but I
didn’t know what was inside, so I took the lead with caution.
「…Oh, it’s normal.」
I involuntarily voiced my thoughts.
There was a fireplace, a bed, and a table for 4. There were unrefined copper
pots and mugs on the table. The place was clean, spacious and fresh.
The temperature was higher than outside, so it was sort of humid. But it
doesn’t have any strange smell.
「N-Now then, would you like to eat first, nuru? Or change clothes, nuru?
Or perhaps–the research?」
Are you a newly-wed bride? ”Do you want a meal? A bath? Or else… me?”
Don’t say something like that while fidgeting.
「I’m sorry, but we would like to know about the state of affairs around
these parts first of all.」
「Hmm. About the state of affairs of the research results, huh. How
enthusiastic! Splendid, nura!」
「…………」
Asha. This is not my fault. So don’t look at me with such a troubled
expression.
「Okay… let’s see it.」I said.
「Hmhmhm! Then wait just a moment!」
Kimidori Gorn-san jumped into the next room through the door at the back,
and immediately returned with a handful of metal magic tools.
「Look at this, nura!」
He placed two eggs on the plates on the table. It was about twice as large as
a L-size chicken egg, and had a yellow shell with purple polka dots. Back
on Earth, this would be similar to an “Easter egg”.
Although the pattern was slightly different, the two eggs looked almost
identical.
「What are these eggs?」
「It’s a Chochoriges egg, nu. Don’t you know?」
I didn’t know that, but I don’t think I really want to know, either. Looking
through【World Ruler】, I can see the bird that laid this egg. It was a very
funky-looking bird with three necks and an earthworm tail. It seems that the
earthworm part is thrust into the ground and lays eggs. The eggs are highly
nutritious, but eating too much can cause addiction. That was all the
information I got. Useless knowledge that will be of no use in the future.
「And this is a magic tool that is the result of my research, nu.」
「I see?」
The metal base, which is about a handful, seems to be insanely heavy
judging from the sound it made when placed on the table earlier. There was
a metal plate in the center and holes on the left and right to insert magic
stones.
「We put the egg here, and then…」
The moment the egg was placed in the center, an intricately drawn sorcery
circuit emerged on the plate and the base while casting light.
「————」
Asha, who was standing next to me, observed the scene with wonder.
As the light subsided, more letters emerged.

『Life』
Asha and I exchanged glances, confused as to what that meant. The next
egg was placed and the magic circuit was activated in the same way.
The next letter emerged.
『Boiled egg』
「Fufufu…Fuhahahahahahahahaha!!! You must be astonished, aren’t you,
nura!! This is my perfected device! A magic tool which distinguishes if it is
a boiled egg or not! I call it『Dead Or Alive』!!!」
Kimidori Gorn laughed like a mad scientist, spreading both hands wide.
His voice echoed throughout the small log house.
The sound will surely reach far along the lakeside.
Immediately after, a deafening silence descended.
「…Umm, you just have to place the egg on a flat surface and spin it. If it
spins quickly, it’s a boiled egg, and if it spins slowly, it’s a raw egg. Isn’t
that how it’s usually done?」
When I demonstrated it, there was a clear difference in the rotation of the
two eggs. Of course, it was the same outcome as the result of the magic
tool.
「…………」
Kimidori Gorn-san, his arms still outstretched, looked at the scene with
wide eyes and mouth gaping open.
**
After that, Kimidori Gorn-san silently cleared away “Dead Or Alive” and
served us tea, then scrambled eggs and boiled eggs for dinner. The main
meal was mashed potatoes sprinkled with salt. Even that was very delicious,
and we had a good feast.
「So… do you guys want to know about this area, nura?」
Kimidori Gorn-san finally spoke after a long silence.
「Umm, I am sorry for just now…」I said.
「No! It’s fine! It’s not like I spent two years conducting that research, or
borrowed money from my parents!」
I couldn’t find the words to console Kimidori Gorn-san who turned away
dejectedly. Damnit! Why didn’t someone teach this man how to distinguish
a boiled egg! No, this person chose to live in such a remote place… this
situation can’t be helped.
「Coming back to the topic… you wanted to know about the dragonewt
people, right, nu?」
「Are you a dragonewt?」Asha asked.
「Hmm? Surely you must have heard about us in your village? You don’t
even know such a common knowledge, nu?」
「Umm… we have some special circumstances.」I said.
「I see. Underground humans and dark elves have a strong tribal sense.
You must have had a hard time…」
He was feeling sympathy for us for some reason. “Well, I felt more pain
when my two years of research was shattered in an instant,” he muttered
under his breath.
「There are more dragonewt than underground humans and dark elves,
after all. Right now, there are probably more than 10,000 of us.」
「10,000!?」
「Fuhaha. Are you surprised, nuru? The dragonewt people are strong in the
battle with monsters–」
「W-Wait a minute!」
I involuntarily yelled out.
「Uhh… I just want to make sure, but what about races other than the
underground humans, the dark elves, and the dragonewt people…?」I
asked.
Kimidori Gorn-san stared at me blankly. And with a look that seemed to
back up my unpleasant premonition, he said,
「Of course, there are only three races. The rest perished hundreds of years
ago, nu. Don’t you know that?」
Reincarnated as the Son of a
Vicious Lord! ~When I Was
Having Fun Learning Magic, I Had
to Get Rid of My Stigma~!
Chapter 53My ribs must have been broken by the
impact of being blown away.

Just breathing makes my body ache.

“Gaaaahhhh!

When the monster found someone who was running away, it changed its
target to him.

“Owen!”

Farren rushes over to me.

“Recovery magic, …….”

“—Holy blessing power, heal thee.”

The healing magic made the pain in my body disappear instantly.

“Give up trying to save him.”

I said, standing up.

The place was in chaos, people were screaming and running for their lives.

That thing is a monster, no matter how you look at it.

I don’t think you can turn him back into a human.

Even if you did, Dominic’s life would be completely ruined.

Farren said nothing but clenched her fists.

With that image of her at his back.

—Body Enhancement

I close the distance to the monster that has its back to me.

“Iron Fist ……!”

I put my fist into the monster’s back.

“Guwaaaaaaaa!”

The monster turns around, screaming.

It glared at me and attacked me.

I kicked the ground and jumped backward.

The monster’s blow is heavy, but it’s nothing to be afraid of if it doesn’t hit
you.
I put magic into my arms.

“Ifreet, destroy Dominic with the flames of hell!”

The flames engulfed Dominic, and he burst into flames.

“Geeeaaaaah!

It’s hot, isn’t it, Dominic?

Unlike before, I’ve unleashed my magic for real.

I wanted to defeat it.

I quickly make a gun shape with my right hand.

“Bullet.”

—Boom!

The impact to my right shoulder, and at the same time, a hole in the
monster’s left shoulder.

“Giyaaaaahhhh!”

Dominic flails around in pain.

I point my index finger at the monster again.

“Bullet.”

—Boom!

Next, a hole appeared in Dominic’s stomach.

I point my index finger at the monster.

“Bullet.”

—Boom!

I lost feeling in my right shoulder.

A hole in the monster’s chest.

Not yet.

I had to make sure I killed it.

Finally, I aimed the monster’s head at Dominic.

“Bullet ……!”

—Boom!

A small hole appeared in Dominic’s forehead.

Then Dominic slumped over and fell.

“Dominic ……?”

Farren staggered to Dominic’s side.

However, Dominic’s body was reduced to ashes, limb by limb.

“Oh no …… why ……?”

When Farren saw this, she placed her hands on Dominic’s body.

“Heal thyself with the blessings of the Goddess.”

She uses a healing spell on Dominic.

However, Dominic’s ashing did not stop, and he was finally reduced to
ashes up to his chest.

“Heal him!”

Farren tried again but to no avail.

“He’s dead, ……. I killed him.”

“Not yet! I can still do something!”

Despite Farren’s cries, Dominic turned to ashes, leaving only his face.

From his body, a magic stone came out.

It was a muddy white-colored demon miasma stone.

“Why did you kill him?”

Because he was a monster.

A demon had appeared on the school grounds, so I killed it.

That’s all there is to it.

“Please say something!”

Fallen raised her voice.

“Dominic was in a state that was beyond help.”

“I could have…”

“Will you shut up?

Farren jolts when I raise my voice at her. “I’m sorry.

“I’m sorry……”
I raised my gaze and tried to look at Farren.

But in the process, my eyes meet Dominic’s dead body.

—You killed me.

It looked as if Dominic was saying that.

The moment I saw the death on his face, I felt nauseous rapidly.

A foreign substance rises from the bottom of my stomach.

“Guaa gaah”

I looked down and spilled it all over the cobblestones.

Raidorl Seiken Senki
Chapter 12
The Six Witches of Doom are the divine enemies of the cult of the Holy
Light, which is practised in over two-thirds of the continent.
They were responsible for the earthquake that struck the Empire 100 years
ago, the White Death that spread across the eastern part of the continent 150
years ago, and the great war that raged across the continent 200 years ago.
The six silver-haired, gold-eyed witches are the subject of many children’s
bedtime stories, and it is said that they are behind many other historical
disasters.
“Master, are you all right? Are you not being trained?”
After neutralising the knight, Neimilia touched the chains that bound
Raidorl. Then, like a piece of paper wet with water, the black chain
shattered into a thousand pieces and dissolved into the air in the form of
particles, disappearing.
“……Oh, no problem. Thank God.”
“Mmmm, I did what a maid is supposed to do. I’m sure that I’ll take good
care of you, Master. From top to bottom!”
“……you make it sound like a putdown, but it doesn’t matter.”
When he was released, Raidorl was uncomfortable with the way that
Neimilia was acting, but he thanked her for her help.
He moves the joints of his arms and legs lightly to make sure there are no
problems, and then turns to Mertina again.
“Well……I’m royalty, and you’re trying to put a curse on me, and you fail.
You know what you’re going to get, Mertina.”
“……I didn’t think your Royal Highness had the Witch of Doom on your
side. This is my loss.”
Mertina shrugs her shoulders in resignation.
Raidorl rebukes his childhood friend, who has a mysterious demeanour
and makes no excuses.
“I’ll ask you a question. Was it King Granard who cursed me and ordered
me to be taken to the Royal Capital?”
“No.”
Mertina closes her eyes and shakes her head.
“This is my own decision. Neither his Majesty nor my father had anything
to do with it. It was all my fault for being too hasty.”
“That’s a lousy excuse. But…… let’s pretend it is.”
Raidorl drew his sword from his waist and swung it sideways. A silvery
blade shot out towards Mertina’s neck.
“…….”
An inevitable death looms before her eyes. Mertina accepts it without
resistance, her eyes downcast.
“…this is too boring”.
A slash slices through Mertina’s neck…… and just before it does, the sword
comes to a halt. The skin of Mertina’s neck is sliced open and a streak of
blood runs down.
Mertina blinked her eyes in surprise, as if she hadn’t expected it to be
stopped.
“……Your Highness, why did you stop?”
“Don’t be mistaken. My mercy is not because we are childhood friends.”
Raidorl said disconsolately and sheathed his sword.
It would be easy to kill Mertina here. And it will be a pleasure to kill her,
who betrayed him once and has done so again.
“But …… I don’t like it.”
The look on Mertina’s face, as she was about to be slayed, was not one of
fear.
She looked as if she had been expecting it all along, and the idea of killing
her was completely lost on her.
Raidorl walked up to the knight stretched out on the floor and stomped on
his belly as hard as he could.
“Ugh!”
“Wake up!”
“Oh, you’re…… no, your royal highness!”
Looking down at the knight, who has finally woken up and raised himself
up, Raidorl coldly declares.
“Listen to me. Mertina Marcell here has unleashed a curse against me, a
member of the royal family, and tried to capture me by force. For this crime
of disrespect, I am detaining her here and now!”
“But..that’s..”
The knight looks puzzledly at Mertina, who is behind Raidorl.
“…..”
Mertina nodded silently and made eye contact at us to show that their trick
had failed.
“Yes, I understand. So, what should I do……?”
“I’ll take Mertina into my custody. You are to return to your superiors and
report this to them.”
“…… yes, sir.”
The knightly man nodded reverently, but with a sullen look on his face.
Raidorl sniffed and threw in a few more words.
“And one more thing, my participation in the war against the Alsatian
Empire is indeed accepted. As soon as we are ready, we will be on our way
to Royal Capital, so make sure you tell them that!”
“Wha..?”
“ee..?”
“Fue?”
The knight and Mertina together roll their eyes. Even Neimilia, who is
supposed to be on the side of Raidorl, has her mouth hanging open.
“Ku,ku,ghe”
As the three looked at him in surprise, Raidorl grinned like a naughty boy
who had just thought of a prank.
After that, I locked the bound Mertina in a room that I use as a storage room
and drove the two knights out of my city.
Fortunately, the knights had not suffered any life-threatening injuries and
did not require any further treatment beyond a bottle of restorative potion
each.
The knight has been subjected to a simple memory manipulation by
Neimilia, and the memory of Raidorl having one of the Six Witches of
Doom as his maid has been falsified.
The power of Neimilia is something that the Kingdom of Zain does not
know about, and it could be a trump card. At the moment, there was no
advantage in letting the people on the king’s side know about it.
“I see, so that’s what happened before I got here.”
“Yes, I’m sure if you’d been here earlier, it wouldn’t have happened.”
Raidorl spat sarcastic venom at Zafis Bartolomeo, who had finally arrived
just as the discussion with Mertina had ended and the knight had been
driven away.
Zafis’s lips twisted in reply to his pupil’s words.
“I can’t help it! We’re busy, not like those ornamental lords!”
With a rough hand, Zafis picked up the wooden cup in front of him and
gulped down the liquid in it. Then he spat out half of it on the floor.
“Ha!? What the hell is this?!”
“My apologies, sir. It seems that the amount of tea leaves was wrong.”
Neimilia smiled and mopped up the rather thick tea that Zafis had
sprinkled on the floor.
Zafis calls out fearfully to the maid, who sweeps the floor with an
indifferent look on her face.
“Oh……are you mad at me, by any chance?”
“No, I’m not mad at you for overlooking my master’s danger, or for calling
him a decoration.”
“Ugu……”
The smile on her face was gentle, but there was a look of anger on her face.
Zafis’s face contorts in horror, and he clears his throat.
“Well, I’m glad you’re alright. But why did you agree to return to Royal
Capital?”
“That’s what I was wondering, too. Is the master a masochist who goes and
faces troubles with the demands of those who have cast him out?”
“Who’s a masochist? I have my own plans!”
Raidorl retorts and exhales.
“Think about it, whatever the intentions of the people in the royal court, we
can’t just leave the Alsatian Empire alone, can we? If the Empire destroys
the Kingdom of Zain, it will of course wipe out the royal family. I can’t be a
part of that.”
He could ask for a pardon, explaining that his brother had treated him badly,
but there was no guarantee that the Empire would accept it.
In the eyes of the Empire, there is no merit in keeping alive the royal family
of an enemy country that it has destroyed. It is much more likely that they
will dispose of them in order to avoid any regrets.
Beheaded or burnt at the stake, either way they will not be treated well.
“And this is a great opportunity. In this time of war, Granard will be forced
to concede to our demands, and we will be able to extort aid for the town.”

The pioneer town serves to prevent the influx of demons from the jungles to
the south of the Kingdom of Zain. In spite of this, the town is run by money
from the sale of demon materials and loans from the adventurers’ guild.
The town has never received any aid from the Crown.
“…… Is that really what you want? You’re not going to get revenge on
your brother, are you?”
Zafis raises his eyebrows in question.
Zafis, who knew Raidorl when he was sent to the frontier, knew how
devastated and hurt the young prince had been by the betrayal of those he
had trusted.
He suspected that he intended to use the war as an opportunity to return to
the Royal Capital and take revenge on his brother the King.
“Revenge…..huh..”
In response to his sword master’s question, Raidorl looked out the window
with a faraway look in his eyes.
He once hated his brother Granard for betraying him.
He has hated his brother Granard for betraying him, and he has hated his
aides Lockwood Marcell and Bazel Garst.

He even disliked the kingdom of Zain, which had driven him to the frontier
and kept him at peace by mistreating him.
“But…… that’s beside the point.”
But Raidorl was not going to take revenge, he swore.
If Granard would leave him alone, he would be happy to spend the rest of
his life fighting demons on the frontier.
The frontier city was full of danger and turmoil, but there was a pure truth
to it, that the strongest survived, and that suited Raidorl.
“If my brother, Granard, had stayed out of my life, I would have been fine
with that. But if he still wants to take it from me after all this time, I’ll have
to fight. I will not let them take it from me again.”
“….I see.”
“I’ll come with you everywhere you go, Master!”
Zafis nodded gravely when he heard Raidorl’s decision. Neimilia also
pinched the edge of her skirt and bowed her head smilingly.
“This is a fight for my pride. I’ll take back what is taken from me. I will not
tolerate those who take from us. I’ll crush them both, the Empire and
Granard.”
With a determination like a blazing fire, Raidorl stared out of the window at
the northern sky.
Beyond the sky – in the royal palace of the Kingdom of Zain – a dead holy
sword cried out with a high-pitched sound, as if calling out to its master.

Sardelia is a provincial city located straight north of the pioneer city of

Raid.
A battalion sent from the royal capital is stationed in the town, which is the
centre of logistics in the south of the Kingdom of Zain.
The battalion commanders, who had rented a room from the Sardelia’s
lord’s, listened to the report of the knight who had returned from Raid.
Inside the room had a bunch of drawings, which had become a makeshift
command centre.
“……hurm, as I expected.”
When the knight’s report was finished, the man who commanded the
battalion sighed deeply.
The knight, who had returned to see his superior holding his forehead as if
he had a headache, hurriedly bowed his head.
“I’m sorry, we were unable to protect Lady Mertina! This blame can be
laid at….!”
“No, that’s all right. It was to be expected that she would not come back.”
The commander speaks in a polite tone that one would not expect to hear
from an ordinary knight.
For the knights not being able to fulfil the duties given them and for not
being able to bring Raidorl to this place. There was no punishment for the
failure, and the commander’s voice sounded unnaturally gentle.
“Eh? Wha?”
“You can go back now. Thank you for your hard work. Get some rest and
relax.”
“Huh, huh?”
The commander scratches his chin and asks the two knights to leave.
The knights nodded their heads at their superior’s words. However, they
had no reason to complain about the lack of punishment and meekly
followed the order to leave the command room.
As the two knights walked out of the room, their footsteps fading into the
distance, the commander crossed his arms with a sorrowful look on his
face.
“I didn’t expect his highness to agree to fight the Empire……. This is
unexpected.”
“If His Royal Highness is coming back on his own free will, there is
nothing wrong with that, is there, Master Daren?”
The name of the commander who sits in his chair and ponders is Darren
Garst.
He is the son of General Bazel Garst, one of the men who once banished
Raidorl from the capital and is commanding a thousand-horsemen in the
Royal Army.
Darren is only 25 years old, but his father’s connections are not the only
reason why he is in the position of commanding a thousand horsemen. This
is because Darren’s bravery and commanding ability are exceptional, and he
is an indispensable asset to the Royal Army.
For the moment, the town where Darren and a thousand of his troops live
can be considered as his home.
The purpose of having a battalion here, despite the war with the Empire, is
to capture and forcibly take Raidorl away if he refuses to return to the
capital.
“hm …… I should be happy about this……”
Darren murmurs in a polite tone that contradicts his position, his brow
furrowed in thought.
His second-in-command, the female knight Saara Leifet, doesn’t understand
why Darren is so worried and lowers her eyebrows in frustration.
He didn’t pay any attention to the worried look on her face and sank deeper
into his thoughts.
“I didn’t think that His Highness would agree to join the war ……, but what
was his intention in detaining the outrageous Miss Mertina and returning
only the knight ……?”
By royal decree, King Granard sent a messenger to his brother Raidorl to
ask him to return to the capital.
In reality, however, he was not at all sure that Raidorl would agree to return
to the capital.
It’s not as if Granard, the king, or Lockwood, the vizier, were so naive as to
think that the exiled prince would not hold a grudge against them.
(TL: vizier a high official in some Muslim countries, especially in Turkey
under Ottoman rule.)
He had chosen Mertina as his emissary not because he thought she could
persuade him, as a childhood friend, but rather to incite Raidorl’s anger.
The first step is to send Mertina as a messenger, and if she can persuade
Raidorl, that is all that is needed. If the persuasion fails, the curse of
restraint, woven by more than a dozen court magicians, will be invoked to
capture Raidorl.
And if the curse fails, Darren will lead an army to besiege the frontier city
and detain Raidorl on the charge of ‘murdering the vizier’s daughter’.
“Even though it is the king’s order, there is no good reason to detain royalty
who have not committed any crime. That’s why Miss Mertina was chosen as
the sacrifice……”
To the horror of many, it was Mertina’s father, Lockwood, who devised the
ruse.
If the curse succeeds, Mertina will be punished for having arbitrarily placed
a curse on the royal family; if it fails, she will be murdered by Raidorl and
used as a banner to capture her royal brother.
Darren was chilled to the bone by Lockwood’s cold-heartedness in
sacrificing even his own daughter for his country.
However, the outcome was unexpected, Raidorl agreed to return to the royal
capital, and Mertina was captured without being killed.
The result was different from the development Darren had expected
beforehand.
“hurm, it seems that…… Miss Mertina was not killed, so let’s be happy
with this result for now. We did not need to capture His Royal Highness
Raidorl.”
Darren shook his head, not unlike his rocky-faced father.
Although there were some unexpected incidents, the end result was not so
bad.
It is a pity that Mertina has been captured, but it is far better than being
killed as planned. If the Prime Minister can negotiate with him, he should
be able to get her back alive.
Darren was unsure what Raidorl’s intentions are, but Darren’s mission is to
get his king’s royal brother, the holder of the Holy Sword, to the capital.
Leave it to the king or the vizier to find out what’s in Raidorl’s heart.
And although…… Darren was ordered to capture Raidorl, he never
harboured any animosity or ill will towards the poor prince who was
banished to the frontier.
On the contrary, he even felt pity for Raidorl, who was being forced to do
something unreasonable for the convenience of his country.
“I thought that I would have to cross swords for the sake of the king and the
country, but I was glad that I did not have to fight.”
“….let’s get ready to go and pick up His Royal Highness Raidorl. Before he
changes his mind”.
“All right, sir. I’ll be ready to go at once!”
She breathed a sigh of relief to her superior, whose expression brightened,
and walked out of the command centre in high spirits.
As he watched her go, Darren held his hand to his chest, trying to suppress
the uneasiness that was growing inside him.
“No one loves a horrid witch like you. I’ve never loved you.”
“Huh………!?”
A cold voice rang out in her head. The blade of the words tore her body,
and she jumped up with a spring in her sleep.
Darkness lay all around her. It was a familiar room in a familiar house.
Neimilia was lying on the bed.
“Well, have I fallen asleep?……… I shouldn’t, a maid should never sleep
without waiting for her master’s return……….”
Neimilia looked at the pendulum clock on the wall.
There were no lamps or candlesticks in the room. But as a witch with the
night vision of a cat, she could see the hands of the clock without any
problem.
“Is it midnight already? Master, it’s late again……..”
Neimilia mumbled uneasily and chewed on her blanket.
Raidorl, who had decided to return to the capital, stayed up late every day
discussing the matter with the leading figures of the frontier city.

He’s no longer an ornament, but the lord who has the final say will be away
from the city. There were many things to be handed over, including how to
deal with emergencies.
It was already half past midnight, but there was still no sign of Raidorl’s
return. Her captive, Mertina, had already been transferred to the guild’s
prison for criminals, leaving Neimilia alone in the not-so-large house.
“Ugh……….”
No matter how late it was, he would be back before morning.
Even though she knew this, Neimilia could not control the feelings of
anxiety that welled up in her heart.
She chewed on her blanket and groaned with tears in her eyes.
Being alone in the dark reminded her of the hellish days of the past.
The memory of the first time she met her future master, Raidorl, flashed
through her mind.
“The Six Witches of Doom.”

This is the name of a monster that has been appearing in human history for
hundreds of years, and has often almost destroyed the world.

The eldest – Akasha, the Witch of Fire.

The second daughter – Carmelan, the Water Witch.

The third daughter – Hoofle, the Wind Witch

Fourth daughter – Osman, the Earth Witch

Fifth daughter – Neimilia, the Dark Witch

And the Great Mother, Graslead, the Witch of Light

It was two years ago that Neimilia, one of those evil witches, met Raidorl
Zain.
The Kingdom of Zain is a country in the west of the continent. In the south,
there was a vast sea of trees that stretched over a fifth of the country.

It is a remote sea of trees where a vast amount of mana blows from the
dragon veins and continues to discharge powerful demons by mutation.
Deep within the sea of trees, hidden from view by the dense foliage, stood
the ruins of an old stone structure.
The ruins have been sealed off from the outside with magic and refuse to be
entered by anyone.
“……….ha”
Inside these ruins, Neimilia sighs.
Her hands and feet were bound by chains that hung from the ceiling and
walls. Her body is not clothed in a single piece of cloth, and her white
naked body is fully exposed in the darkness without a ray of light.
Her naked body is as spotless as virgin snow, untouched by anyone, and the
silver hair cascading from her head is as beautiful as fine silverwork. Her
eyes are golden and shine like the light of the full moon in the night sky,
illuminating the darkness.
She was a work of art in her own right, but there was no one to admire her
beauty in the ruins, where there was no room for an ant.
Neimilia, the Witch of Darkness, had spent hundreds of years in the
lightless ruins of the Abyss.
“………………I’m lonely. I want to talk to someone.”
Such words leaked from Neimilia’s mouth.
The darkness of the abyss was not always a pain for Neimilia, the witch
who controls ‘darkness’.

However, Neimilia never met anyone, and for hundreds of years spent
alone, slowly her mind starts to break down.
In fact, she has done well. A normal person would go insane in less than a
week if they were trapped alone in the dark with no light. The fact that
Neimilia can live in such an environment for hundreds of years and still
maintain an equilibrium in her mind is extraordinary.
However, even Neimilia’s mind was reaching its limits.
Her mind, which had been gradually whittled down over hundreds of years,
was on the verge of collapse, and in a few short days, her mind would sink
into madness.
How this witch ended up in a never-ending captivity goes back hundreds of
years.
Follow-up Incident
Adventurer Guild, Imperial Capital Branch.
As Silver, I have been standing by at the Imperial Capital Branch waiting
for the report from the investigation team.
However.
“Still nothing yet?”
“Unfortunately……we lost contact with them.”
There is also an adventurer guild branch in the Kingdom’s capital.
We should be able to receive the report of the situation through that
channel.
However, there is no subsequent report after we were notified that the team
encountered multiple Demons.
A considerable amount of time has already passed since the initial report.
That should be more than enough time for the SS-rank adventurers on-site
to take care of things. It’s very unlikely that they have not settled it yet.
“If we can not confirm the situation there, I will go to the Kingdom
myself.”
“That’s………”
The guild staff responded with a troubled expression.
They don’t know what to do even if I said that huh.
That being said, the role assigned to me was to standby here in case of an
emergency.
The lack of contact from the investigation team should also count as one.
When I was thinking that far.
A report came through.
“There’s a report, sir!”
“Hurry up and say it!”
“Yes! The investigation team encountered Demons in multiple locations and
the SS-rank Adventurers moved in to engage them! All three Demons have
been subjugated, sir!”
Sigh of relief spread inside the Branch.
The plan was to send three SS-rank Adventurers in.
It indicated that failure is not an option.
However.
“A follow-up report just came through, sir!”
Another staff member hurriedly entered the room behind the first one.
His face bears a grave expression.
“There is more!?”
“Yes! A fourth Demon has appeared in the Kingdom! It was trying to
escape and the SS-rank Adventurer was in pursuit! The initial report said
that three cities have been destroyed in the process, sir!”
“WHAT…….?”
“Did they manage to subjugate it?”
“That is yet to be confirmed, sir…….”
The atmosphere immediately turned heavy.
They were celebrating the SS-rank Adventurers until earlier but they
immediately got pulled back to reality with the second report.
The other party is a group of Demons.
Obviously, defeating them is no easy task.
“Did they request my help?”
“Y, yes…..SS-rank Adventurer Jack has issued an official request for your
dispatch, Silver-san.”
“Good. Then I’m going. I will ask Jack for the details.”
Saying so, I immediately transferred to the Kingdom.

Using two consecutive transfers, I arrive at a guild branch in the Kingdom.

There were some commotions due to my sudden appearance in the guild but
Jack immediately called out to me.
“Thanks for coming……Silver.”
“Let’s hear the details.”
“Before that, follow me.”
Jack leads me out of the branch office.
The scene outside of the office could be described as hell.
A large number of injured people were laid down there and people were
working tirelessly to treat them.
“I want you to heal these people first.”
“I see. Of course.”
With that said, I cover the city with a healing barrier.
Albeit slowly, their wounds start to heal. With this, we should be able to
avoid casualty.
“Let’s talk…….how did this happen with the three of you on the scene?”
“……when we investigated their bases, we each encountered a Demon. But
those guys were just decoys. The Demon that appears to be their leader
used the time they bought to escape. Elder Egor was the only one who
immediately noticed it. During the chase, that Demon destroyed the nearby
cities to stall us. We lost three cities and as you see many citizens were
injured.”
“The fact that you are here means you’ve already subjugated it right?”
“Yeah, somehow. We were having a hard time because it was focusing on
escaping. We managed to subjugate it in the end while the three of us
cooperate to restrain its movement. That guy was clearly stronger than the
executives we encountered.”
“Did you catch its name?”
“It called itself Botis.”
“I see…..”
The name of the Demon that Jii-san mentioned was Dantalion.
The former executive in the Demon King Army.
Since Grimoire’s leader was called the Grand Duke, I assumed that such a
position belonged to Dantalion.
It wouldn’t be strange if my assumption is wrong………still………….
“This might be the most catastrophic incident in recent times. I don’t even
want to imagine the number of casualties.”
“They caused this much damage even though the Guild dispatched three
SS-rank Adventurers after all. Still, there are some suspicious points. Why
did the Grand Duke attack these cities to escape? There’s no way that such
a thing can stop the pursuit of SS-rank Adventurers.”
“That is a mystery to me too. If you want something useful then try talking
to Elder Egor. In a situation where we need to rely on intuition like this, no
one is more reliable than him.”
“Where is he?”
“Don’t be surprised alright? He’s meditating just outside the city. He didn’t
get lost and managed to reach this place, you know.”
“It wouldn’t be strange if it starts raining spears now huh.”
“Pretty much. Also…….one more thing, Silver.”
Jack looks like he is having a hard time trying to say something.
Obviously, there is only one topic he would act like this for.
“Mia awoke safe and sound. She will be helping me out at the Dominion in
the near future. She needed a place of employment after all.”
“I see…..thank you for everything.”
“Don’t mind it. She is just that capable.”
I stopped talking there.
Jack probably wanted to hear more about Mia but this conversation is
nothing but a risk for me.
I flew to the sky above the city and searched for Elder Egor.
Soon, I found him just outside the city so I descended toward him.
“——you came.”
“…….you didn’t get lost huh. I guess you don’t need someone else to guide
you anymore?”
“You are not here just to tease me right.”
Egor is meditating with his eyes closed.
It seems that he plans to stay like that while we have this conversation.
“…..how do you see this incident?”
“One of the worst I have seen recently. This much is a given if we are
fighting Demons…….that is what everyone is probably thinking.”
“I agree. There were five Demons in total that we encountered and
subjugated. There would be a full-scale panic if more of them show up.
Still…..was Grimoire truly destroyed?”
“It appears to be the case from the initial investigation. The Demon the
three of us cornered was the Grand Duke, their leader. We should be able to
dig deeper once we continue the investigation.”
“……and what does your intuition tell you?”
Until now, he only spoke about the objective assessment of the situation.
That is not Elder Egor’s intuition.
And his intuition is exactly what I want to hear from.
After all, this person has relied on his intuition to solve many conflicts for
hundreds of years.
“My intuition huh…..then it’s a different story. My intuition is telling me
one thing. It is not over yet.”
“Agreed. Mine didn’t come from an intuition though, just speculation.”
“Speculation?”
“The incident is too flashy. The damage is great. Enough to camouflage the
things that didn’t add up. Three SS-rank Adventurers were sent in to
destroy Grimoire and albeit suffering a certain amount of damage, they
came out victorious. That should be the narrative that everyone is seeing.
But I don’t think that an organization that has been lurking in the dark for
so long would be destroyed this easily. Rather, it would make more sense to
think that the Demons that showed up so far were all decoys.”
“Do you have any proof of that?”
“None. But we can expect one thing. At the base I subjugated the first
Demon, I found something that connected the Grand Duke to a certain
person called [Highness]. If they were truly destroyed, information about
this Highness should also surface. If the Grand Duke was truly destroyed
then there should at least be some information about Highness from the
investigation.”
“That’s true.”
“But, there probably won’t be any. After all, they are trying to hide
themselves using four Demons as decoys. The real Grand Duke should be
hiding somewhere else and already disappeared back to the shadows. The
reason behind such an action is simple. He simply doesn’t want to interact
with the SS-rank Adventurers yet. Still, he knew that he couldn’t get away
so easily. That’s why he laid out the baits for us. Some ridiculously good
baits at that.”
“……..it would be nice if you are wrong……..”
“I think so too. This incident will conclude the cooperative relationship of
the rulers of this continent. That will make it easier for Grimoire to move
behind the scenes. It would be great if I’m wrong but…..it is best that we
prepare ourselves.”
“That’s right. We are humanity’s shield as well as their weapon. It would be
best if we sharpen ourselves.”
With that said, Elder Egor delved deeper into his meditation.
The anxiety in my mind still doesn’t disappear.
This is not over yet. Still, we have no evidence to back that claim.
Without proof, the Emperors and Kings of this continent would not
cooperate.
“They outplayed us huh…….”
If my guess is correct then this Grand Duke is surprisingly bold.
Using plenty of valuable pieces, he managed to avoid direct confrontation
with the SS-rank Adventurers.
The problem here is that to use such a daring move, the Grand Duke must
have some kind of way to replenish his lost pieces.
Otherwise, he wouldn’t have used them so daringly.
After a long, long sigh, I left the place.
The Imperial Capital was wrapped in cheers.
And at the center of that is Leo.
Leo who made a triumphant return was enthusiastically welcomed by the
citizens ever since he entered the capital.
While looking down on the situation from the castle, I muttered to myself.
“Quite popular isn’t he.”
“He’s the Hero Prince who returned with great war results after all, sir.
Besides, the war results may have played a part in this but with the incident
in the east, the Sea Dragon incident in the Principality, the Demons he
defeated in the south, Duke Kruger’s rebellion, the rebellion in the capital,
defeating Prince Gordon in the North, and his success in the western war
front, Leonard-sama is truly a hero to the citizens, sir”
“A competition between Eric who produced results in politics and Leo who
achieved many victories on the battlefield huh. It seems Leo has succeeded
in what Gordon-aniue tried to achieve.”
“That is the only way to fight against His Highness Eric after all, sir”
“Having achievements under your belt is a good thing. Since Leo
participated in the succession war, the four-way battle is now a one on one
fight. Right now it is a battle to see who raised more achievements. Leo has
strong support from the military and Eric has the support of the civil
servants. Both of them will have to try to make as many achievements as
they can in this last spurt. Well, the two of them still lack the decisive blow
though.”
With the only two candidates left being from two different types, it is
difficult to directly compare them.
Whether it be successful diplomacy or military feats,
Both contribute to the Empire.
However.
“The Three Great Powers of the Continent, Perlan Kingdom, Adracia
Empire, and Sokal empire. The status quo has been maintained like that for
many years. If they manage to break one of those powers then it would give
them an overwhelming lead.”
“Whether Leonard-sama can defeat the Kingdom. That is the current
challenge, sir.”
“He will win. If there really is going to be a war with the Kingdom that is.”
“Isn’t the ceasefire only temporary, sir?”
“The damage they suffered from the Demons is great. The Kingdom will
choose to maintain the ceasefire for now. Right now, they have nothing to
gain in fighting us again.”
If they start sending their troops in again, Leo who had been cornering them
will immediately return to the frontline.
The Kingdom surely wouldn’t want that.
“With the succession war going on, Eric will do everything to stop Leo
from taking more credit. The Kingdom knows that so they will strike some
kind of deal with him. That’s why this war will be on hold for a while. In
the meantime, they will surely try to sabotage us.”
“That would be troubling, sir. If the ceasefire continues, Leonard-sama will
be at a disadvantage. Moreover, there is a possibility that this war against
the Kingdom will discontinue indefinitely.”
“Even so, we have no choice but to overcome this. Leo probably doesn’t
think that he can ascend the throne that easily too.”
Saying so, I stood up.
After all, it’s about time that Leo will enter the castle.

“Leo-niisama!”
Christa ran up and hugged Leo immediately after he entered the castle.
Receiving her, Leo smiles back at Christa.
“I’m back, Christa. I missed you.”
“I missed you too.”
Perhaps due to the long separation, Christa does not leave Leo’s side.
While making a bitter smile at her, Leo spotted me who just came out to
welcome him back.
“I’m back, Nii-san.”
“Yeah, so you managed to come back huh?”
“What do you mean?”
“Literally. So, you managed to leave Leticia behind and come back huh.”
“I can’t refuse His Majesty’s summon after all. That being said, she is under
the protection of the Second Corp now.”
“The Kingdom doesn’t like the fact that their Saintess is in the Empire after
all. It’s also possible that she might feel estranged when you are away.
Leaving her with them is a good plan.”
The Second Imperial Knight Corp specialized in escorting VIPs.
They are excellent in protection and are quite persevering.
One could say that a unit is the reflection of its captain.
That’s why he should feel safe leaving her with them.
“I actually wanted to bring Leticia back with me but she insisted on staying
near the border……”
“The people that are migrating from the Kingdom are admirers of Leticia
after all. They have no loyalty toward the Empire. If Leticia leaves, it’s
possible that they might go back. Otherwise only the wise ones would
choose to stay after all.”
“I thought that leaving her with them for a little while should be fine. It
would be better if she has Three Corps protecting her though.”
“You think three Imperial Knight Corps are willing to go along with your
selfish request?”
“It’s fine isn’t it. What meaning would my power hold if it can’t grant me a
small selfish wish like this.”
“Is that right. But leave that after you ascend the throne would you.”
While tiredly responding to my brother’s ridiculous wish, I urge Leo to
move.
After all, we have a place to be. Especially Leo.
“Come on, let’s go greet Father.”
“Do you think he will allow my marriage now?”
“Impossible. At least with Trau-niisan’s marriage, you will have to wait for
a while.”
“Unnnn, what a shame.”
Muttering so, Leo started walking.

Night.
Leo who finished giving his greeting returned to his room.
“Ahh, I’m tired.”
“You only had a short break before and had to go to the west immediately
after all. This time you should be able to relax for a while.”
“It seems you have a lot to do though, Nii-san.”
“Trau-niisan will hold his wedding ceremony soon. After that, I will have to
head to the Dominion with him. I guess I will be put to work for a while.”
“If you don’t want to go then you should just choose to settle down with
someone. I heard the rumors that you don’t want to marry now because you
are worried about the power relationship in the faction but you don’t really
care about that right?”
“I was too popular that I couldn’t choose.”
“Aren’t you just being indecisive then?”
I shrug at my brother’s harsh comment.
I guess there’s no point talking more about this with him huh.
A person who already settled on his partner would not understand someone
who couldn’t do the same after all.
“By the way, did you hear about the Demons Subjugation?”
“Changing the topic just like that huh. Well, I don’t mind. I heard about it
but is there a problem?”
“From the result of the investigation, it seems that Grimoire was involved in
most of the recent incidents that happened to the Empire. So…….do you
think that an organization like that would be destroyed so easily?”
“I want to say that they stood no chance against three SS-rank Adventurers
but……….the opponent is the Demons. I think that was too easy.”
“I agree. There are also a lot of things that still remain unclear. It’s possible
that they just left us some convenient information and hid in the dark again.
If that’s the case then there will be a storm coming.”
“In other words, you’re telling me to not let my guard down right?”
“That’s right. I will be in the Dominion, you will stay in the Empire alone.
Do not let down your guard. From the beginning, Grimoire’s aim was
always the Empire. if they are still out there, they will surely target the
Empire again.”
“I won’t let my guard down. They did target Leticia once after all. There
won’t be a second time. Until I can make sure that they are thoroughly
destroyed…….I will never have peace of mind.”
“Then I guess there won’t be a problem. Once I become a prime minister, I
won’t be able to come back for at least a year. At the very least, I want to
concentrate all authority on Trau-niisan first. This will be the first time that
we are going to be separated for such a long time but…….the things we
have to do still don’t change.”
“My opponent is Eric-aniue and I have to defeat the Kingdom in order to
win. I personally want to solve the problems with the Kingdom for Leticia
but my purpose is clear. As always, we can only do our best. Still…….I’m
getting a little anxious.”
“I’m the same. We have always been together after all. Still, this should
serve as a good experience. There are things that we can only see once we
are separated after all.”
“The enemy should think that if we are together, it will be dangerous for
them.”
“Right. They will make their move while we are separated. If we can
endure it and survive, the throne will be within your reach. The Kingdom
should be able to recover in a year. The game will resume after my return.
Don’t get ahead before I come back alright.”
“I know. Let’s take the throne together.”
I pour the wine on the table into two glasses.
One for myself and another for Leo.
And while looking at the moon, we made a toast.
Goblin Fight
It was my first day off since I confessed to the butler that I was hunting
outside the city. Today, I left the mansion before the sun rose and ran to the
gate, where I found the usual gate keeper. I thanked him for his hard work.
“Boy, are you going out again today?”
“Yes.”
We made the usual small talk until the 6 o’clock bell rang. I had been
showing him my coat of arms regularly, but the other day he told me that I
didn’t have to show it every time I go out. Since I don’t have to show my
coat of arms anymore, I keep it in my Inventory. It’s not as strict as the train
stations and airports in the real world.
“Now let’s go”, I thought as I ran away from the city. It was the first
snowfall of the season, and it was past the middle of December. The normal
clothes I was given were not that thick. However, it was not that cold for
me, who was always running to get around outside the city.
I was getting further and further away from the city.
(Is this distance okay? Come on out, Eagles.)
Six E-rank Birds were summoned at once. Of course, they were
summoned to a location a few dozen meters in the air. With the instruction
to go look for the Goblins, they scatter and take off in search of the Goblins.
I killed a few D-rank magical beasts, but the experience of the Goblins
was the most efficient. There are some D-rank magical beasts that provide
more experience than Goblins per unit, but the number of them appearing at
once is very small.
Whether there are too many Goblins or too few other magical beasts,
Goblins are the first to be discovered, which is another good reason to target
them.
I’ve become a complete Goblin Slayer.
(I should kill 100 Goblins first, and then kill some horned rabbits to earn
some money and collect magic stones. I need to hunt five horned rabbits.)
While deciding on the quota for each hunt, I waited for the Eagles to
return.
The encounter rate with magical beasts is not that high. If there were no
Summons, I’d probably only be able to hunt three of them a day at most.
Because of his summons’s excellent spotting skills, Allen’s hunting
efficiency was much higher.
Then about three hours passed.
Allen was eating dried potatoes and MoMo nuts for lunch. Since he was
running around, it was important to recover his energy. The MoMo nuts
also rehydrated him. It’s very efficient and delicious.
Then one Eagle stopped on a branch of a tree near Allen.
“Oh, wait a minute. I’ll finish eating now.”
“Peeeee!” The bird shouted.
(Hmm? What is it?)
There was something unusual about this particular Eagle. I looked to the
sky. Three other Eagles had also already found their prey. But they were
flying in the sky without descending to the trees.
(Eh?)
“Peeeee!!!”
The Eagle cried more strongly as if it’s trying to tell me something.
“Hmm? Is there something wrong?”
This is not normal behavior for Eagles. Allen put away the dried potatoes
he was about to eat. The Eagle who had been watching, flapped its wings
from the branch and slowly headed somewhere. It looked behind and after
confirming that it was being followed, it sped up quickly.
(Oh, that’s really fast.)
The Eagle always had high speed and intelligence. It’s even faster now
that I’ve enhanced it. I also raised my speed.
(Seriously, that’s quite a distance. What is it?)
We ran for about 15 minutes. I heard a voice in the distance. It sounded
like someone was shouting.
“Milsy, run!”
“No, I can’t leave you and Raven!”
“Just go!”
(What? Are they being attacked?)
There was a woman using a dagger fighting a group of Goblins. And
behind her was a man who had fallen injured and a woman who was taking
care of him. From the way they were dressed, they all seemed to be
adventurers.
Rita, the dagger wielder, was desperately fighting four Goblins. Two
other Goblins were already dead behind her. Rita was hit in one arm and
couldn’t raise it. She slumped down; blood dripping down her face. She was
struggling to fight with one arm. I heard a loud voice saying, “We can’t let
them through here.”
Allen took out an iron ball from his Inventory and threw it with all his
might.
(This wasn’t how I expected my first throw with an iron ball to be.)
The ball went straight into Goblin’s head. Its face was smashed.
I crushed the face of one of the Goblins. The Goblin’s knees hit the
ground as the iron ball smashes into its face.
“I’ll cover you!” I said to Rita.
“What? Who?”
“Hey, turn around, we’re in a fight.”
I threw another iron ball, which hit the second Goblin in the face, causing
it to stumble.
“My iron ball won’t kill it. Be careful!”
“Okay, okay, …”
The sudden appearance of reinforcements surprised her, but Allen didn’t
care and threw the last iron ball. Since Allen killed two Goblins so shortly,
the third Goblin was wary of him. The Goblin used his arm to block the
flying iron ball, but his arm shattered.
However, it seems to have more strength than the other two Goblins who
were hit in the face. The Goblin clutched the club with the other hand.
(There are only two Goblins left that can move.)
I draw my dagger and leap forward. I can’t summon anything in front of
people. I have already turned my summons into cards.
“I’ll take down the unharmed one! Take care of the one-armed one!”
“Okay…”
He entered a close battle with a Goblin with a rusty, battered dagger;
when he had defeated the D-ranked Albaheron, he had made the F-rank
Insect to use its special skill Suction and had won by stealing its power.
But this time, he didn’t summon anything. The battle began without
Allen using any special skills.
I avoided all of the Goblin’s large strikes. I didn’t use my dagger to parry
attacks. If I take a hit with my dagger, the blade might be damaged. So, I
don’t wear out my weapon necessarily.
Allen was already Level 12, and had about 300 Attack Power and
Agility. He approached and slashed the neck of the Goblin in an instant. He
retreated even before the fresh blood erupted. It was an overwhelming
victory.
The reason why I usually let summoned beasts defeat magical beasts is
because they stain my precious everyday clothes. I’ve fought without
getting my clothes dirty so far.
The Goblin collapsed it’s knees. I look at Rita, the female adventurer
with the dagger. She was about to kill the other Goblin. It seems that she
wouldn’t be defeated by a wounded Goblin. The two Goblins who had been
hit in the face with iron balls were also stopped.
“Raven!”
“Ugh!”
I have met the heavily injured adventurer named Raven before in the
Adventurer’s Guild. His companions desperately tried to call out to him, but
he only groaned faintly. He looked like he was about to die.
Allen moved closer. A dark-haired boy, no more than ten years old,
appeared out of nowhere and helped the adventurers to defeat Goblins.
(Hmm, the one called Milsy seems to be a healer, but has she run out of
mana? I’ll have to use the Grass of Life.)
“Excuse me, I have some medicinal herbs. Do you want to use it?”
“Ho, really!”
Both of their expressions suddenly changed.
“I’ll pay whatever you want, just help Raven!”
Not very polite, but I don’t care about that. Pretending to take it out of
my back, I took out the Grass of Life from my Inventory, Grimoire.
(Oh no, I’m dealing with such a dying person to test the effect for the first
time.)
I haven’t tested it yet, but from the name, I’m assuming it’s a restorative
herb. I grab a leaf that is very large and bring it close to Raven. I don’t
know how to use it, but I applied it to his heavily wounded stomach.
The two friends look at Raven’s empty face with concern. And they look
at me with hope.
(Hey, don’t look at me so expectantly. I don’t know how much this will
heal, and I don’t know if it’s even a recovery potion.)
The Grass of Life touches the adventurer’s body.
The leaf that touched the wound glowed and disappeared like a bubble.
Then, Raven’s stomach, whose internal organs were almost visible, healed
at a great speed. It was hard to tell with all the blood on his stomach, but it
seemed to have completely healed.
Raven regains consciousness and slowly opens his eyes. He rubs his
belly and checks the wound.
“Oh!”
Raven was astonished to see his wounds healed. Rita and Milsy, Raven’s
friends, also shout in surprise.
“Raven!”
Raven couldn’t understand how he was okay. He asks Milsy, who is
holding a cane, if he healed her but Milsy shakes her head.
“I am glad you are safe. Umm…, Rita, right? Let me heal your arm as
well.”
I took out the Grass of Life once again and touched her injured and
bleeding arm.
The three adventurers were watching me. The wound was disappearing at
an incredible rate. It’s as if time is rewinding. It healed quickly and
completely. She raised her arm, which had lost its strength due to broken
bones, to her chest and clutched the palm of her hand again and again in
surprise.
“‘Mullerse flower!!!”
The three of them all mentioned the name of the herb that had saved
Rodin’s life. They must’ve thought that the Grass of Life was a Mullerse
flower.

After entrusting Treant to Grandpa Magiatite’s care, I head to the royal

capital Alban together with Alo, Nightmare, and Volk.

Treant sees us off from the entrance of the mine with a dead expression.
Nightmare didn’t want to be left alone with Treant, and Treant feels
frustrated that he can’t be together with me and wants to switch places with
Nightmare.
S-Sorry Treant…… I’ll buy you nutritious fertilizers if I find some.

Using〖Automatic MP Recovery〗, I waited until my MP was fully

recovered before using〖Human Transformation〗, but when I was about
to use it, Volk stopped me.

“I know you don’t want to be noticed. But we also don’t want to spend too
much walking to get there, right?”

Volk calls me out.

I let out a ‘gru~o’ to Alo and have her answer for me as a kind of
interpreter.
Alo does as I say and tells Volk my answer, while half-hiding behind my
front leg.

“…… R-, Ryujin-sama is asking if you have some other idea in mind”

“I’m saying that we should just catch us a ride. There’s a monster around
here called the Steel Horse, and although wild, they’re famous for letting
anyone ride them if you manage to catch one. Many adventurers use them
to go to Alban. We’ll reach our destination faster that way”

A Steel Horse……? And, it’s a monster?

It’s true that we could rely on speed on our hands, so it’s definitely not a
bad idea.

In my case, since only my attack and defense stats get halved during
humanization, I’ll still be fast enough to go to Alban in a short time, but I
can’t say the same to Alo and Nightmare.
Volk’s idea is certainly good, but who knows, this so-called ‘Steel Horse’
that he mentioned might be something that only high-ranked adventurers
can handle, and we might stand out even more when we arrive at the city.
But oh well, if it can take us there along with Alo and Nightmare, then who
am I to complain.

“The Steel Horse is cowardly and will immediately run as soon as they spot
a threat from afar. But, I’m sure it’s nothing you can’t handle”

Ohh, sounds interesting.

Alright, let’s try it.

After wandering around the outskirts of the Great Alban Mine for a while to
look for a Steel Horse, it’s obviously that one, right? I’ve had my eye on it
since I sensed its presence from afar.

I can see why they’re called Steel Horse.

Their whole body is literally just steel, and I can even see some kind of
seam in between the joints.
They kinda look like moving statues.
There really aren’t any normal animals in this world, huh.
And no, I’m not just talking about the monsters. Even the humans aren’t
normal, look at Volk here.

Anyway, let’s check out what their description says.

【〖Steel Horse〗: RankC- monster】

【A horse monster whose body is made of metal.】
【Other than being sturdy and agile, it has no notable abilities.】
【When it encounters an enemy of equal or greater strength, it will use its
incredible speed to immediately run away in the blink of an eye.】
【However, if its favorite food,〖Adamant Dragora〗, is in its presence, it
will exhibit a violent behavior.】
【…… But, it doesn’t necessarily get any stronger.】

I see, it’s exactly as Volk described.

They’re rankC-, huh. Even if they stampede towards us, I'm sure we can
handle it.
If we catch two of them, then Alo can ride with me, and the other two can
ride their own……

I wonder if Volk also used that to get here.

When I was wondering that, Alo shares to Volk about what’s on my mind.

“…… U-Uncle, have you ridden on a Steel Horse before?”

Volk looks at Alo.

Alo shies away and hides behind my front leg again.

“Hm? I came here by running, of course. What did you expect?”

Ah…… I see.
That only removes any point of having to hunt for a Steel Horse now.
Although, running together with Volk to the city doesn’t sound too practical
since we’re taking Alo and Nightmare with us, so we’ll still choose to ride
on a Steel Horse anyway.
“Still, we’re lucky we found one right away. They tend to hide often,
despite their usefulness”

Yeah, you did say they have a cowardly nature……

But, won’t scaring them just make them not want to listen to us instead?
I wonder if there’s some kind of trick to determine that we’ve captured
them.

While I was thinking to myself, the Steel Horse that we found noticed us
and immediately trots away.
Ah, wait! It’s okay to chase it, right? Right? It took us a while just to find
one, and Volk said that we should catch it……
Then, without a moment to waste, Volk unsheathes his Leral.

“Stand back and watch as I hunt down that beast. With your big size, you
might accidentally squash it”

Volk lowers his posture and runs off after it.

In no time at all, Volk was already outpacing the Steel Horse while holding
his big sword like it weighs nothing.
Watching this scene unfold before, I slowly started to understand the
meaning of hunting a Steel Horse.

“Ne-…… neighh!!”

The Steel Horse lets out a cry with a voice that sounded like a rusty musical
instrument, and then its speed increased.
And yet, despite that, it still can’t seem to shake off Volk’s pursuit.

Volk then jumps and cartwheels over the Steel Horse.

While his body was upside down in the air, he holds his sword from the
other side and attempts to grab onto the Steel Horse.
His movements were so natural.

But, as if by luck or by instinct, the Steel Horse bends its head down to
avoid Volk’s hands.
Volk only managed to graze through its steel mane.
Impatience is seen in Volk's expression.
He forcefully stretches his arms and turns his body, swinging his sword and
aiming to slam the Steel Horse’s head with the side of his sword.

A high-pitched metallic sound is heard, and the weight from the impact of
Volk’s sword reaches the Steel Horse’s knees, causing it to lose balance and
trip in the midst of running at high speed.
Volk uses the additional force from his last swing to spin in the air and land
on his feet, with his sword back in its scabbard.

Well, results are results, but you think you can fool me?!
Volk looks at me and notices my eyes handing out criticism to his last
action.

“T-This works too! At least I hunted the beast! Did you really think I would
stray from my way of the sword that easily?”

Ehhh??
I saw you get impatient when your plan didn’t work, so you went and
slammed its head ‘cause you were mad, and now its knees are dislocated.

“I-I heard the Ouroboros is good with white magic! She’s still breathing.
You can still fix her!”

…… It’s a she?
I feel like I chose the wrong guy to be our guide to the royal capital.
The Steel Horse was already on the brink of death from Volk’s one
sidesword swing, but with Partner’s〖High Rest〗, she was able to recover.
After looking around some more, we captured another Steel Horse.
And with this, we can finally set off to the Alban capital.

I can’t afford to stay there too long due to my MP constantly depleting

from〖Human Transformation〗.
I’ll go there quickly, and leave just as quickly.
Too bad I won’t be able to find the luxury to do sightseeing, eating
delicious food, seeing interesting things, and even just relaxing or having a
stroll around town since my humanization won’t last. Besides, Treant will
get lonely if we take too long.
I can only do those things after this whole Demon King fiasco is resolved
and the Saint gets to put in a good word for me.

Well, at least we now have two Steel Horses.

We’ll ride in pairs on our way to Alban.
Alo and Humanized Nightmare (who shall go by the alias “Naiko”) are both
little girls, so it should be alright.

The pairs are…… me and Alo, and Volk and Naiko.

Using〖Human Transformation〗, I transform into a male human body,
wearing ragged Lithuvar clothes, while Partner shrinks and disappears to
my shoulder.
I move the part of my shoulder where Partner disappeared. Maybe because
this used to Partner’s head that I find it uncomfortable to move with.

I look at the Steel Horses.

Both of them face each other and bend their bodies down, allowing us to
ride them.

“Kay, let’s do this…… since my transformation has a time limit, let’s set off
right away”

I place a saddle on its back before getting on.

I asked Partner to tell Nightmare to make this saddle using her webs.
…… It’s not perfect, but it’s better than riding bareback. Or in this case,
steel back.

I turn and face Alo.

“Hop on. We’re sharing the same ride”

Alo nods.
But, just as Alo walks towards me, Naiko comes along too.
The two stopped and looked at each other.
After all that hate you used to give me…… Naiko, you still wanted to share
a ride with me.
Does this mean you like me, even if it’s just a little?
Aw, so you can act cute to me sometimes.

…… But, just when I was thinking that, Naiko silently turns away and
walks to Volk.

“I’m fine with just running on my own two feet, but…… I can settle with
riding horseback. I’ve ridden Steel Horses before, so I can show you how
it’s done, Ouroboros. They’re tough to handle, but your strength should be
more than capable enough”

Ah…… so basically, this musclehead is just gonna skip the explanation

then.

“Alo, what’s wrong? Let’s go already”

“Yes! Ryujin-sama!”

When I called Alo, she immediately comes rushing to me.

“Spider girl, you’re with me”

Volk grabs Naiko by the collar from her robe and lifts her up to ride with
him.
As I saw Naiko’s feet leave the ground, I could briefly see her eyes looking
at me from under her mask.

Huhu, let this be a lesson to you, Nightmare, that you should share at least
one-tenth of your affection to me as you would to Partner.
Revel in the society that you shall be soon a part of. I for one am glad that
you’ll be learning this.
Depending on your behavior in the royal capital, I could ask Volk to carry
the supplies so I could let you join me and Alo for a ride on our way back.

Then, as Alo got on behind me, Volk spoke.

“Ah…… I should tell you this beforehand. Don’t approach anyone with
affiliations to the Church. Some of them can identify undeads and monsters.
Disguises only cover the surface…… the instant you show even a small
hint of evidence that you’re all a group of monsters, it’s over. There are also
rare adventurers who can tell the difference”

Hmm…… so there’s a skill that can do that.

Well, so long as we cover up our tracks, we should be fine.
Guess this means I’ll have to check the status of random people to see if
they have the skill that can sniff out our identities.

“Oh, and…… stay away from the Alban Knights too. If your story is true,
then we may need to watch our backs from them as well. Especially the
three head knights who serve the royal family. I did hear that the princess
replaced them recently”

…… So the Demon King has his own personal trio of guards.

I wonder if they’re also monsters pretending to be human? No, for all I
know, they could just be humans who decided to serve the Demon King.
After all, there’s just no way three monsters who can humanize would just
be directly serving the Demon King when human transformation is already
a rare enough skill to have.

…… Although, there’s a chance that they could have chosen their

evolutions carefully in order to get the〖Human Transformation〗skill or
something that looks close to a human…… like an undead evolution similar
to Alo.
We can’t let our guard down at all, can we. There’s not enough information
to act if we’re only left with guesses.

“Anyway, I recommend that you avoid the three knights entirely. I heard
that they’re pretty skilled…… and that each of them possess a special
power. They could end up revealing your true identity”

…… Hmm, if possible, I would like to check the status of those three

knights…… but, if they discover me and figure out my plan, everything
will backfire.
I’d lose the element of surprise against the Demon King.
More than that, they might even end up fortifying their defenses.

“But, no need to worry about them too much. Even if they find us and
expose your secret, we just need to silence them. In fact, let’s just do that.
I’ve always wanted to fight them myself”

No, no, silencing them is out of the question, if they find out one of them is
missing, it’ll only arouse suspicion!
And besides, fighting inside the city is dangerous, and we won’t get to
gather information anymore!
Keep your dream fights to yourself!

“…… Thanks for the warning. Let’s take a path that avoids an encounter
with them as much as possible. And on the way, you can tell me more about
them, like what they look like and where they like to go to. For now, we
need to get going”

“Right. Kick the side of the Steel Horse to move them. It’ll make them run.
If you want to stop or change directions, just yell or navigate its neck”

Another vague explanation from Volk!

Yeah, maybe we should’ve made some reins first……
…… Uhm, Nightmare, sorry about before. Can you make some quick reins
first before we go……?

“Now, watch as I show you how it’s done. Hiyahh! Don’t kick too hard or
they’ll faint!”

Volk raises his legs and kicks the side of the Steel Horse with great force
that made it look like his heels were about to sink into the metal skin and a
loud clang is heard.
The Steel Horse cries out and dashes into the horizon.
“Ohh, I can see why it’s called a capital.”
The royal capital, Alban, is the first big city that I’ve been to ever since I
came to this world.
There are many tall buildings with red roofs, and even the streetways are
paved.
In my previous world, this may have been just a passing thought, but it
certainly feels refreshing to be standing on hard ground that isn’t soil or
earth.

As I look around the many different infrastructure of the city, Alo clings
tight behind me.
She must not be used to being around this many people.
The only other people she’s been with were from the Lithuvar Tribe, so her
nervousness is understandable.
Although, it doesn’t seem to affect her excitement since she’s still looking
around despite hiding behind me.

Compared to Alo, Naiko (a.k.a. Nightmare) on the other hand is just

watching out for people passing by us, but other than that, she’s not the
least bit interested in being in a big city.
Either she’s just way too on-guard, or she really doesn’t care at all.

“Sorry to keep you waiting, Ouroboros”

A tall topless man with silver hair carrying a big sword on his back stands
out in the crowd.
It’s Volk.
Upon arrival in the city, Volk told us to wait here while he went to a special
stable where Steel Horses are specifically kept.

I have a sudden urge to punch Volk on the head for mentioning my species
name in a crowded city like this…… but, I won’t.
No one’s going to believe that a rank A evil dragon is strolling around the
capital city anyway.

“You don’t have much time, right? I’ll help you with your search”

He’s right, I have a time limit.

To avoid arousing suspicion, I’ll need to maintain my〖Human
Transformation〗even after leaving the city, which means I can only
change back when I return to the Great Alban Mine.
Which leaves me with only 90 minutes to investigate in the city.

It’s been a while since I’ve been in a place with this many humans. I really
want to stay around and explore the city more.
But for now, I’ll stick to gathering information about the princess, a.k.a. the
Demon King.
The information I want to obtain is; proof of the Demon King switching
places with the princess, as well as the Demon King’s current fighting
strength…… and if possible, I would also like to know about the strengths
of those three knights who serve as the princess’s shield, though that may
be asking for too much…… but, if by some stroke of luck that we somehow
manage to obtain information about what species the Demon King is, then
we’ll hit the jackpot.
I don’t really know where to start, so let’s just gather any rumor we can find
about the royal family.

Volk kinda already knows about the general events occurring in the royal
city, so we can scratch that out of the list in our search.
After all, Volk, despite being a sword-freak, is still a civilized person. Even
though he doesn’t look the part.
He told me everything he knows about the royal family, like the strange
movements of Princess Chris and quite a few common info about the three
head knights, on our way here to Alban.

Ever since the sudden decline of the royal family from an unknown disease,
Princess Chris, the youngest to the throne, took over the succession as the
only survivor from the mysterious purge.
With the current ruler being a young maiden, the royal vassals are the ones
handling most of the political affairs.
According to custom, the man who Princess Chris chooses as her husband
shall become the new king.

From what I’ve gathered so far, Princess Chris is sickly and doesn’t go out
often.
But ever since she became the sole survivor of the royal family, she started
organizing a party to hear stories from adventurers of afar, replaced the
three head knights and appointed the new ones as her personal aides, and
even deciding who her future husband will be to anyone who offers her the
rarest and most expensive gift.
Honestly, if she was just a spoiled child, then I’d be fine with that, but this
only confirms the information I’ve been told, like hosting a party for
adventurers to turn them into exp points, meddling with the top leaders to
possibly overrun the whole palace with monsters, and even stirring up
internal conflicts between the feudal lords to decline the number of humans
being in charge.

As for the three head knights who protect the princess; one of them happens
to be a bishop from the Church and is known to many as a man of his
character, Roguehale; another is a former adventurer who decided to join
the imperial knights only because he liked the princess, Thermal; and as for
the third one, I heard that she originated from the slums, and that her natural
talent as a fighter was recognized so she was accepted as a knight, then she
kept rising up the ranks until she became a head knight. I think her name is
Mephisto.
There are quite a few of the citizens who have concerns about how and why
they were selected…… I mean, a priest, an adventurer, and a beggar? Those
are quite a unique array of knights there, but apparently Volk doesn’t care
about that and is only interested in how strong they are.
Volk also voiced his opinion about Thermal, saying that he must’ve been
selected because of his handsome looks.
…… Hearing about all this, I can only wonder if the princess has weird
tastes for choosing those kinds of people as her personal bodyguards.

“It’ll be difficult to run an investigation on the princess…… so we should

focus on the three knights for now”

And with that, we begin our search for the three head knights, though it’s
mostly just us walking around the city, hoping we run into them by chance.
If their status shows that they’re monsters, then not only will it confirm that
the princess is actually the Demon King, but it also increases the possibility
that there could be other monsters hiding in the royal palace.
Plus, if we’re able to determine the fighting strength of the three head
knights, we can make a guess on how strong the Demon King is too.

But…… a direct confrontation is too risky, so I’d rather avoid that if

possible.
If they find out about me and my identity is revealed to them, the Demon
King will be onto us.
If only I can find someone here who can tell us more details so we don’t
have to take risks…… listening to rumors can only take us so far.

I don’t have much time, we need to hurry this up.

As I look around where to go next, I notice Alo looking at a particular shop

that’s displaying different clothes and pretty dresses.
Her eyes show excitement and enthusiasm.
She pulls my hand towards the shop as she points it with her other finger.

“Alo…… we’re running out of time, you know? I mean, I’m interested too,
but like, we have a time limit, so……”

“R-Right, of course! I…… understand”

Alo says with clear disappointment in her tone.

“Really sorry, Alo. Maybe after everything is over, and when we find time
again, we can look inside the shops together, so wait till then. The future of
this city…… no, the future of Ardezia is at stake here, possibly even the
fate of the world. We can’t spare much time on this yet, so just be patient,
okay?”

When I said that, Alo tightens her resolve and nods.

“…… I-I will, do my best and help you with all I can, Ryujin-sama! I will
follow you wherever you go!”

After Alo expressed her feelings full of emotion, I give her a pat in the
head, but then, I heard a voice from a woman in the distance. It sounded
familiar.

“I'm still surprised that Princess Chris invited me to her party, hahaha! I
really like being an adventurer, but I don’t know how I’d respond if they
invited me to be part of the knights……!”

Even when there are so many voices mixed among the crowd, for some
reason, that voice sounded nostalgic.
Well, the way she talks is definitely loud, so her voice sticks out like a sore
thumb, but I feel like that’s not the only reason.
It’s like I suddenly feel homesick or something.
Turning towards the voice, it was from a blonde-haired woman.
She’s dressed in light armor and carries a sword on her waist.

She’s apparently an adventurer too.

And like Volk, she was invited to the princess’s party as well……
But, I wonder why I’m getting nostalgic vibes from that woman…… hm?
Have I met her somewhere before?

“Ah……!”

I remember now.
Back when I was a kid plague dragon, two female adventurers came to my
old cave and attacked me.
No wonder I felt nostalgic, she reminds me of my old home.
Though, I’d rather not remember a memory where I got my butt kicked……

But, if I let her go to the party, she’ll be in danger.

Should I warn her? Would they even believe a single word from a random
guy in the streets?
She looks really happy that she got invited, so it’s gonna be hard to
persuade her.

If I remember right…… doesn’t she have a beastwoman companion with a

huge mallet?
I look to see who she’s talking to.
“Are you sure…… I keep hearing bad rumors about the royal palace. They
say anyone invited by the princess will be surrounded by the three royal
knights and will never be seen again……”

A black-haired girl walking beside her said.

The girl wears a white robe, with a wand held by her gloved hands.
Her huge eyes are seen under her trimmed bangs.

I felt my eyes widen upon seeing her.

As if by instinct, I hide behind a house.

The blonde woman’s companion isn’t the beastwoman with a mallet.

It’s the very first human who ever showed kindness to me even though I
was a lowly monster. Millia.
W-Why? Why is she here?! Did she leave her village and joined the party
of adventurers who went after me?!

I-I want to go talk to her.

Should I follow them? But, what if they spot me?

While I was busy hiding from a girl, Alo looks at me with cold eyes.
Those eyes were exuding the very death from Alo’s〖Undead〗. W-What’s
wrong, Alo……?

“Ryujin-sama, we can’t spare much time, those are your words, please
follow through with them……”
Chapter 72: Yeah…this is
a dungeon
“Selen, now that it’s spring, there’s something I’d like us to look into.”
“And that is?”

That day, I came to ask Selen a certain favor.

“To the west of the village, there’s a rocky area, but there’s something a
little unusual about it.”
“In what way?”
“For some reason, this place isn’t recognized as under my control.”

Each time the village levels up, its area expands.

When it became level 6, the majority of the wasteland was considered part
of the village.
However, the place I mentioned was not part of the village, even though the
nearby areas and beyond were. I noticed this in the middle of the winter, but
because of the snow, I decided to hold off any investigation.
By the way, I knew it was a rocky area because I was able to see it partially
from an observation tower.

“So, I’d like us to take a closer look.”

“Oh, I see.”
“By us, I mean–”
“No.”

Before I could even say I wanted to come as well, Selen refused.

“But why? The hunting team will be there, so it should be safe, right?”
“Even so, no. You do know you’re the reason that this village even exists,
right? What do you think will happen to it if you get hurt badly out there?”
“Come on, you’re treating me like a helpless baby…”

The journey from the village up to the rocky area was at most 10
kilometers. The dangers along the way should be nothing compared to the
fight against the orc horde.
Besides, this wasn’t the first time for me to leave the village: I have been to
the elves’ hamlet in the monster-infested forest.

“……at least let us do a preliminary investigation. For all we know, there

might be a dangerous monster there.”
“But once you’ve confirmed that it’s safe, I can go?”
“I guess, but we’ll have to be sure, ok?”

◇ ◇ ◇

“So, this is the place Luke was talking about.”

The hunting team led by Selen has journeyed toward a certain rocky area.
The hunting team had more members since the addition of the elves to the
village, but only 15 were selected to come to this mission.

“At first glance, nothing looks out of the ordinary in this place…but if
Luke-dono says so, then there must be something else going on.”

Among those that came to the mission was Philia the elven warrior.
Having both [Bow Techniques] and [Green Magic], she was a great addition
to the hunting team.

Some of the other members that came along were Balrath who had [Sword
Techniques], Noel who had [Shield Master Techniques]. And Goate who
had [Herculean Strength].
As long as nothing gravely dangerous happens, their fighting force should
be more than enough.

Before long, they arrived at the vicinity.

Their thoughts earlier remained the same: this place looked like any other
rocky area in the wasteland.

“There doesn’t seem to be any scent of monsters.”

The one to state that was a member who had the [Beast’s Sense of Smell]
Gift.
Much like its name might suggest, this Gift allowed its user to have a sense
of smell similar to that of a beast. Being able to detect an approaching
monster made them a valuable member of the hunting team.

“That big boulder near the center there…I’m getting a bad feeling from
over there.”

Another valuable member was the one who had the Gift called [Danger
Perception].

“I still don’t smell any monsters though…”

“Maybe monsters are not the cause?”
“…I don’t know, but I’m certain there’s something going on there.”
“Alright, everyone, proceed cautiously.”

Like that, they moved as a group toward the large boulder in the center of
the rocky area.
When they eventually reached the place, they discovered something.

“Is this…”
“A cave?”

At the foot of the large boulder was a large hole.

The opening was about 3 meters in height and 2 meters in width.

The group was wary, but they decided to take a peek inside. The hole
sloped downwards gently and continuously. Yet, for all its depth, there
didn’t seem to be any kind of obstacle in the way.

“I’m getting a strong sense of danger from inside…!”

“I wasn’t able to before we’ve come here, but now…I smell the scent of
monsters deep inside…”

Hearing those reports, Selen and Philia looked at each other.

They seemed to have arrived at the same conclusion.

“…there’s no mistake about it, right?”

“Yeah…this is a dungeon.”

Chapter 207
Gemper’s pieces attack me and Seiji.
When the two of us enter into fighting postures in order to intercept them
————

『……』
““……A’re?””

Somehow, the pieces stopped moving as we are on the verge of fighting.

“O,oy!? What’s the matter!? Get rid of them quickly!”

『……』

This situation is once again unexpected for Gemper, and he showed an

impatient appearance.
And then,――――.

“Wha,what? Why are you looking at me!? Th,the enemy is over there!
O,oy, stop! Don’t get closer!”
““Err…… this is……””

Seiji and I are puzzled by the sight that looks familiar somehow.
It’s just like, at the time I fought with the S class teacher in the rivalry of
Barbador Magic Academy; the situation was exactly the same as when the
magic released by the other party returned to the other party as it was.
In other words ……
“No,no way…… thi,this shouldn’t be…… Impossible, this is impossible!
My power, repeatedly――――”
『――――!』
“Do,don’t comeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!”

The pieces that Gemper had created, attacked Gemper all at once!
Gemper desperately swings his arms, perhaps trying to erase his own
pieces, and tries to escape, but as Al said, Gemper himself has no fighting
power, he can’t fight at all, and he has been severely beaten up like no
other.
Not only me and Seiji, but also Saria and the others were stunned by the
sight, and each of the pieces turned around, and give a thumbs up.

“Sto,stop ―― bogyagugeryuheboraoebeaijiekega!?”

A scream echoes from him that no longer seems to be of human language.

That appearance was like watching insects swarming on a food.
…… Or rather, what should I and Seiji be motivated to do now?
It was going to be a joint front for the two of us! Although it developed like
that, we couldn’t even fight…… (TN: Who expected )
Since I and Seiji no longer needed to fight, when I release my fighting
posture, the pieces gradually disappeared, leaving only Gemper who
tumbled like a rag at the end.

“Ah …… agah …… ho …… how …… did ……”

“……Alright, let’s release Elemina-san and go home!”
“Let’s do that!”

When Seiji and I nodded to each other, we ignored Gemper and went under
Elemina-san.
◇◆◇

“I,I didn’t think that you’ll be able to beat him……”

When I freed Elemina-san, she muttered in a way that she still can’t believe
it.
She was wounded and in tatters when she was restrained, so I released and
healed her at the same time.
Then Al responds to Elemina-san’s words with a sigh.

“If you’re surprised at something like this, your body won’t be able to keep
up. If you’re together with Seiichi ……”
“Yes……?”
“You couldn’t understand that his fake, which shouldn’t naturally betray
that man, just betrayed him with an ego …… No, I myself couldn’t believe
it……”
“Al, it’s okay. Since I didn’t even understand what happened.”
“That’s the most unconvincing thing, you know!”

I know right.
When Seiji and I were all smiling wryly, Al finished restraining Gemper.

“Oh well. Elemina-sama’s rescue has been completed, and we were able to
recover this guy, which is the cause of this incident. I’m thinking of going
back to the royal capital for a moment, but is that okay?”

When Al asked Elemina-san, Elemina-san floated a bitter expression.

“……It’s disappointing, but I’m a burden right now. Even though I’ve
located the enemy’s stronghold……”
“Eh?”

We all opened our eyes to Elemina-san’s words.

“Pe,perhaps, Elemina-san, knows the hideout of the 【Demon God’s

Cult】?”
“Yes. Actually, I came back to the Welmburg Kingdom to inform them
about that, but …… I encountered that guy on the way, and …… as a result,
I got caught. That’s why, I’m really thankful.”
“N,no! Anyway, I’m glad I was able to set you free. Therefore, that’s……
you said that you knew the hideout of the 【Demon God’s Cult】, but
where is it?”
“Seiichi? Perhaps you ……”

When I asked Elemina-san that, Al opened her eyes as if she had noticed
something.

“Yeah. It might be as Al imagined, it was long-awaited, so I decided to head

to the hideout of the 【Demon God’s Cult】……”
“That carefreely!? It’s the stronghold of the enemy, you know!?”
“I know that, but their hideout still has the real S-class adventurers that
they’ve captured, and above all, I can’t leave them as it is. That’s why, I’m
going to settle it here.”
“Tha,that’s true, but …… the other party is a God, right? Can you win?”

When I’m told with that, I’m not completely confident, but I need to fight
them someday.
If so, it would be better to fight them before he can make a full revival, and
they may have caught other people besides the S-class adventurers.
When I was thinking about such things, Elemina-san makes a grim
expression.

“…… Seiichi-kun is certainly a nonstandard being, but as expected, the

other party is just too bad.”
“I understand. So, if I can beat them, I will beat them, but my main purpose
would be to rescue the captured S-class adventurers. So ……”
“……Haa. I get it. I’ll tell you the location, but don’t be rash, alright?”

When Elemina-san loudly sighs at the end, she immediately changes to a

serious expression, and teaches me.

“The place where the hideout of the 【Demon God’s Cult】 was located, is
at a certain dungeon.”

I remember it because it was taught by Hitsuji at the time we traversed the

dungeon where Zora was in before.
However, at that time, Hitsuji said that it was separated into a space
different from this world, so Hitsuji doesn’t even know where it was, and in
the first place, he couldn’t even teach it to us as it was Hitsuji’s limitation.
But……

“But, unlike a normal dungeon, the dungeon where the Demon God is
sealed can’t be found in this world. It seems that it’s isolated in another
space, so apparently, we need to use a magic circle that exists in a certain
place.”
“A certain place?”
“――――【Underworld】”
『!?』
We opened our eyes to the unexpected place.
To our state, Elemina-san sighs.

“That’s understandable. The underworld…… in other words, you can’t go

there without dying. Such a place ――――”
“……Oi, Seiichi?”
“As expected of Milord, right! He anticipated this situation!”

I didn’t know how to react to Elemina-san’s words, and when I was

confused, Al turned her eyes to me.
Then Elemina-san, who noticed that our appearance was strange, tilted her
head.

“? What’s wrong?”
“Tha,that’s…… it’s the underworld, but …… perhaps, I can go there, you
know?”
“How!?”

Ho,how is it, right. I want to ask that too.

“Yo,you can go …… to the underworld!? It may be, but it’s not like you
were going to die, right?”
“Ye,yes. Rather, I can go there normally ……”
“What do you mean by you can go there normally!?”

My normality is not normal. Strange…… this normal is different from what

I’m looking for……?
Anyway, when I left the underworld, it was on my mind that the
underworld itself said that it had tightened its admission restrictions.
It said that the living wouldn’t be able go to the underworld using transition
magic or from the gate of the west end, but ……
…… it’s strange. If I try it, I believe I can go there with transition magic or
from the gate at the west end. Well, I’m thankful for it at this time only.

“A,anyway, leave it to me when it comes to the underworld! Since I’ve

been there once!”
“You’ve been there once!? Eh, are you okay!?”
“? I’m alright, you know?”
“……Amazing. Seiichi-kun will still come back to life even if he dies……”

No, that’s, I didn’t die…… you can say that I was forcibly transferred ……

“If that’s true, then I’d like to hear a lot about that place, but let’s proceed
on the premise that you can go to the underworld for the mean time. I
couldn’t really investigate the inside of the underworld, but it seems that
somewhere in the underworld there is a magic circle leading to the dungeon
where the Demon God is sealed. If you use that, you should be able to
invade their hideout.”
“I see……”
“So, what will you do? Are you really going?”
“……Yes. However, if it is such a dangerous place, the I, alone, ――――”
“Of course, I’ll go too!”
“Eh?”

I open my eyes.to Saria who raised her hand energetically next to me.
Then, not only Saria but also Al and the others raised their hands.

“Of course, I’ll also follow you.”

“……Nn. Everyone together.”
“I, I don’t know how much I can help, but …… even so, I want to help
Seiichi-san!”
“Milord. I am Milord’s knight. I’ll follow you anywhere!”
“……Glutton …… Knight ……?”
“What do you want to say, Olga!”

No, I think Olga-chan’s reaction is correct. I want you to reconsider your

usual behavior.
Rather than that, they all will follow me.

“Bu,but, the destination now is the underworld, and above all, it’s the base
of the enemy, right? In such a dangerous place……”
“Seiichi. I’ve been together with you since the time at the 【Forest of
Endless Love and Sorrow】, and I’ll continue to be with you. Moreover, we
have overcome dangerous things together, and no matter what happens, it’ll
be fine if there’s Seiichi!”
“I,it’ll be fine if I’m there, you said……”

I’m not really sure about that because the world’s consideration is terrible
these days, but there’s no guarantee that they would really be safe.
However, as long as they put their trust on me in this manner, I will do my
best to answer those feelings.
Looking over at Al and the others, they all nod with a serious expression.

“…… I get it. Elemina-san, all of us were going.”

“…… I’m sorry. I would really like to help you as an S-class adventurer,
but I don’t think I can do anything …… still, I’ll look for something I can
do.”

Elemina-san also decided to be prepared after receiving my words.

“Alright! Before we head out to the hideout of the 【Demon God’s Cult】,
we have to send Elemina-san back ……”
“Ah, then should I take on that role?”
“Eh?”

Then Seiji, who had been silently watching over the situation, raised his
hand.

“If it was the case, that Gemper was going to be beaten by Seiichi and I, but
now that he’s gone, I have spare time.”
“Spare time!? We,well, you were created as a copy, so aren’t you going to
disappear?”
“Ah…… it looks like I’m fine”
“What’s going on? That body of mine is ……”
“That’s what I want to ask. But, you don’t have to worry about me
disappearing until I deliver her, since it seems like I’ll disappear at my own
will.”

It’s strange why Seiji, who was created by the enemy’s ability, could move
so freely.
Well, the other copied people were either killed or had disappeared on their
own, so Seiji is the only one who isn’t normal. …… No, the female version
of me is the same too.
In the end, my copies are strange!

“We,well, it’s fine. If it’s okay, can I ask you?”

“Oh, leave it to me! I may be incomparable to Seiichi, but well, I think I’ll
be okay even if the Deities and apostles of the 【Demon God’s Cult】
attack me.”
His specs itself are based on my body, so he should be fine at that way……
I guess.
I who decided to leave Elemina-san to Seiji for the time being, turned to
Saria and the others.

“Alright, then…… let’s go. To the base of the 【Demon God’s Cult】!”

Finally, we set out for the base of the 【Demon God’s Cult】.
he Principle of a Philosopher by
Eternal Fool “Asley” – Chapter
196, An End of a Struggle
At the west gate, Lala was fighting with all her power. Her speed was
greater than that of warriors, confusing the ranks of the monsters.
With eye-popping movements, she got herself behind monsters and invoked
magic spells right at their backs.

“…Hmm.”

Since mages were usually assigned to the rear guard, Idéa and Midors were
taken aback by Lala’s unusual fighting style.

“Seriously? Did she just write her magic formulas ON the Lizard Flies? She
sounds bored out of her mind, though… What’s the deal with her?”

“You think she’s faster than even Egd? -Ngh, Fire Arrow!”

As the two were fighting from on top of the wall, Tzar overheard them, and
in the corner of his eyes…

“For Lina!”

…He saw Egd shouting, and felt compelled to grumble to himself,

“”Indeed she is. Their standards for comparison are far too low. Still, We
cannot deny that Egd has been showing improvements… And now, We are
up against an Otyugh – not something We ought to fall to…
KAHHHHH!””

Tzar unleashed his Purgatory Breath straight ahead, stopping the

approaching corrosive monster in its tracks.
Various collisions took place all over the area, and with each collision,
adventurers were injured.
Haruhana, noticing the negative momentum as she went around providing
cover to the mages on the wall, asked Midors, who happened to be nearby,

“Midors.”

“Oh?! What is it, Haruhana?”

“May I leave this area to you?”

Although he did not think all that deeply about what that entailed, Midors’
answer had always been set in stone.
And if one were to ask why, it was because he did not feel any irregularity
in Haruhana’s words.

“You got it! Doing things your way – that’s what being an adventurer is all
about, right?! Ora! Icicle Lance!”

As thanks for Midors’ encouraging words, Haruhana nodded silently, with

her mouth firmly shut.
Leaving Lala, Idéa, and Midors as they fought on the wall, she descended to
where Tzar and Egd were doing battle – the front of the west gate.
In the chaotic midst of monsters and warriors, she found where Egd was.
And at the same time, she noticed an Ogre Fighter approaching from behind
him.

“Egd! Duck!”

“Huh? Yes!”

Following Haruhana’s call, Egd crouched down and dodged the Ogre
Fighter’s greatsword right as it swung past.

“…Oh?!”

Egd rolled over and faced up, getting ready to parry the Ogre Fighter as it
swung its sword down, but Haruhana beat him to the punch, swiftly
slashing at the monster in a horizontal arc.
The Ogre Fighter’s head dropped down at Egd’s feet. Haruhana then
proceeded to head towards the Hobgoblins that were approaching from the
front.

[She has come because she has judged that there are not enough warriors
down here… Hmm. Good decision-making and perception.]

As Tzar observed Haruhana’s course of action, below him, Egd was

cracking a slight grin.

“Whew, I’d never thought Miss Haruhana would have eyes on me as well…
hah-hah!”

“……”
Tzar was quite irritated, as one would expect, and decided to ignore Egd’s
ramblings from this point on.
With eyes of lukewarm mood, he turned back to observe Haruhana. Egd, on
the other hand, sent Haruhana a sincere and refreshing yell with words of
encouragement and affection… in his own way.

“I dedicate this freshly severed head to you, m’lady! Hah-hah!”

Idéa, hearing that all the way from on top of the wall, got goosebumps all
over, she proceeded to shout,

“Bwaaahhh! Of all the lines he could pick, he just went for the worst ones
ever!”

Seeing Idéa hold her own arms and shivering, Midors was quite
exasperated.

“We’re in battle, damn it! Focus, focus!”

At the same time as Midors’ scolding, Idéa heard voices coming from
behind, loud and resonant.

“Wait – did you hear that?!”

Idéa could not turn around since the airborne monsters in front of her were
still coming, but she did hear the cheers of those behind her, the adventurers
and low-ranking mages, who had gone to provide support inside the town
on buildings’ roofs. Approaching from further back from them were
countless footsteps… and a unified war cry.
Midors’ expression lightened up upon realizing what that was.
“Reinforcements from the Warrior University! Finally!”

“And Sir Dragan is in the lead – oh, for God’s sake! The big man sure likes
to take his sweet time!”

The pair, their backs against the other’s, shouted as they swatted the
airborne monsters away with their staves.
Idéa looked back at the town for a moment, perhaps feeling somewhat
relaxed by the long-awaited arrival of reinforcements. She could clearly
hear the rumbling of their march. Seeing the ones in the lead from on top of
the wall, one was sure to feel at least some peace of mind.
It was but a brief moment – but that brief moment was all a random Wyvern
needed to take Idéa by surprise, biting her staff and holding it down.

“Ngh-!”

The first to notice that happening was Lala. Idéa was crouching down and
facing away from the Wyvern, her eyes opened wide. Lala started to run
toward the Wyvern as it terrorized the former, but then Midors rushed
straight at it, throwing his massive body at the monster.

“NWOHHHH! -Gah?!”

Although he got his shoulder bitten into by the Wyvern’s razor-sharp fangs,
he managed to pin it down.

“Wh-what the- Midors?!”

“You ain’t touching her, you damn flying lizard!”

Although Midors was a Mage, he was also physically fit enough to even
fight on the front lines.
But then again, not many would be willing to throw themselves straight at
C-ranked monsters like these Wyverns. He had even thrown aside his staff,
considered to be a Mage’s lifeline, to shield Idéa and help her out of her
predicament.
The Wyvern, thanks to its base strength of the Dragon archetype, managed
to fix its posture and tried to fly up into the sky.
But then Midors, in a desperate move, grabbed onto its upper and lower
jaws, and glared at it, looking for an opening to land a damaging blow.
Seeing her friends in danger, Lala used the gaps in the walls as platforms to
hop all the way up – up higher than even the Wyvern.

“Ryyyseee! Lala Bladeeee!”

As she swung her right hand, a root-like plant extended from it, wrapping
around her arm and taking the shape of a sword.
Midors, seeing that Lala had proceeded to swing it right down, shouted in a
panic,

“Whwhwhwh-whoa?!”

In one slash, the Wyvern got a long cut from the back of its head all the way
to the tip of its tail. It was now robbed of the strength to even fly.
Midors barely managed to land on the wall safely. Idéa approached him,
worried about his injuries.

“Midors! A-are you all right?”

“Y-yeah… C’mon, just focus on the battle!”

Idéa nodded as if to remind herself to do just that, but then she noticed that
Midors was now bleeding from a place other than his shoulder.

“Uh… You sure you’re alright there?”

Idéa pointed at Midors.

“Oh?”

Midors noticed blood dripping from the tip of his nose, so he traced it up…
and realized exactly where it was coming from.
There was a shallow cut on his forehead.
Lala, seeing that, wiped a drop of cold sweat from her face, looked briefly
at the Lala Blade on her arm, then muttered to herself,

“Whoops….. I messed up…”

As if to escape the scene, she proceeded to throw herself back into the fray.
At around the same time, Dragan hopped from building to building,
crushing their roof tiles before eventually reaching the top of the town wall.
Taking a mere instant to assess the situation, he looked at Egd, who was
currently fighting in the very front.

“Freshmen and Sophomores, defend the west gate! Juniors, assist the
adventurers! Seniors, run along the wall, head to the south gate!”

“”Yes, sir!””
Dragan instructed the Warrior University students below to draw their
weapons and prepare for battle, and as soon as he heard a clear response, he
plunged into the fray.
Idéa and Midors, though surprised by the change in the offensive
momentum after Dragan’s appearance, were now convinced that victory
was near. They proceeded to start drawing their Spell Circles again.

◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆

While the former inhabitants of Faltown – Reid, Ryan, Adolf, and Reyna –
were struggling to defend the south gate, reinforcements reached them in
the form of Magic University students, led by none other than Lina.

“Lina!”

“Chief! It’s good to see you safe!”

“Mm – we’re having trouble dealing with these airborne monsters. Quite a
lot of them have already invaded the city.”

“There’s no need to worry. We’ve set up a simple formation of parties led

by Senior students to operate around the south gate. Baladd and Miss
Irene’s Familiar Hawk are defending the sky, too.”

Ryan nodded in acknowledgment of Lina’s explanation and at the same

time, Anri and Claris ran up to them from behind.

“This is bad, Lina! The enemies are all flying monsters, so there are not
enough people on the ground level!”
“Please give your instructions to me and Anri, Lina.”

“All right. Anri and Claris, take the remaining Senior students and head
downstairs. The Juniors and I will take care of defending the wall.”

Ryan, hearing that, felt happy for how much Lina had improved, but did not
refrain from providing a suggestion,

“I ought to go as well, to keep them safe.”

“…Thank you, Chief.”

“Don’t mention it. This gate is far from being breached, we shouldn’t need
Sir Asley to keep it secure.”

Ryan thought back to when he had defended Faltown’s gate, and how Asley
had bailed him out of a fatal predicament.
He took a moment to chuckle dryly, then flipped his mantle and leaped
down the wall.
Looking on as Ryan went on his way, Lina looked to be puzzled by his
statement.

“Hmm? What was that about Sir Asley…?”

Once Ryan landed, he walked past in between Anri and Claris to get to the
front.

“Provide us with backup, you two.”

Anri and Claris looked at each other, nodded, and replied firmly without a
moment’s hesitation,

“”Yes, sir!””

Reid, Adolf, and Reyna did their best battling on the wall, fending off
enemies and guarding Lina.
While Reid fought, he also kept an eye on Adolf, since the latter was still
the least experienced of the group.

“Everyone, I understand that you may be worried about the other gates, but
we are defending a vital position. Don’t forget to watch each other’s
backs!”

Lina’s warnings resonated well with all of those who were in battle, but the
loudest response to it did not come from the Magic University students.
Rather, it came from those of the Adventurers’ Guild.
Lina had frequently shown up at the Guild, and made her true abilities
known to many with her hunting achievements, whether it be alone, with
Asley, or with Hornel. It had made her well-known among the people of
Beilanea.
As Lina’s voice resounded through the vicinity, the Warriors and Mages of
the Adventurers’ Guild felt a boost in their morale.
Down on ground level, Anri muttered to herself as she finished firing off
her Swift Magic,

“You know, she might surpass the Black Emperor one day… at least in
some aspects.”
“Heh heh, Sir Warren has never shown up at the Adventurers’ Guild, after
all.”

Claris said as she applied her Giving Magic spell onto Ryan, who stood on
the ready in front of her.

“Kah-! Lightning Blade!”

Streams of blue lightning ran through the ground and struck the monsters as
they landed.
Ryan, having adored Lina as if she were his own daughter, was quite
delighted to see how much she had achieved.
However, he reminded himself that he must not let such emotions show,
especially for her to see, in the middle of a battle.
Lina, on the other hand, actually was worried about Ryan as she observed
him from the top of the wall. Noticing that, Reyna offered her some words
to ease her fears as she fought off the monsters around her.

“It’s all right. Knowing Chief, he won’t have to hold back now that he
doesn’t have to worry for the safety of those behind him!”

“That’s right, Lina – fighting like this, Chief is invincible.”

Lina nodded to Reyna and Reid, reassured by their words.

“Then I can’t let myself fall behind! Hell Inferno!”

She then swung her Blazing Dragon Staff, one she had received as a gift
from Gaston, and fired off a spell with Swift Magic.
Balls of hellish fire consumed the monsters, burning them to ashes. The
crimson flames danced along the wall, dropping rows and rows of monsters
that were clinging onto it.
At the same time, the mages who saw what Lina had just done could not
believe their eyes.

“Did I see that right?! A large-scale spell with Swift Magic?!”

“Is it a special spell?! I haven’t seen anything about it in the papers I’ve
read!”

They would have shown an even stronger reaction if not for the fact that
they had to be careful of the monsters in front of them.
Witnessing such a shocking display of Swift Magic, even the
underclassmen of the Magic University were utterly amazed.
The method of converting large-scale spells to Swift Magic had been taught
to Lina by none other than Asley.
Naturally, Hornel and other close friends had also known of its existence,
but the rest of the populace had yet to be informed.
Although this meant it was the very first public showcase of the method,
Lina had no regrets in doing so.

[…It’s fine. Sir Asley would have used it in times like this. Wait, no, I HAD
to use it… He would’ve been angry at me if I didn’t… right?]

A moment later, Adolf, having finished killing the monsters in front of him,
looked ahead… and was promptly shocked by the other thing he saw.

“E-emergency! Monster reinforcements incoming!”

He focused his eyes at the approaching shadows, and saw that they were
monsters marching to their north, towards the south gate up ahead.

“Damn it! We already got our hands full here, and they’re still bringing
MORE?!”

Reid, having detected non-flying monsters in the midst of the

reinforcements, headed downstairs to provide his assistance to Ryan’s
group.
Lina alternated between healing her allies and unleashing large-scale magic
spells, but her arcane energy consumption rate was too high to be canceled
out with Giving Magic, and her stamina was quickly draining.
As everyone faced the newly-arrived monster reinforcements, their fatigue
grew and their injuries only increased.
Lina, despite almost running out of shots she could fire, unleashed another
Hell Inferno onto an area straight ahead.
That resulted in a momentary standstill. Then the monsters resumed moving
forward, their fighting spirit and bloodthirst further fueled by the death of
their own kind.
The crimson, flickering flames were trampled over by the wave of
monsters. Shortly after they were completely extinguished, the south gate
was thrown open, complete with a loud bang.

“Would you look at that… You’ve become able to use some decent flames
yourself.”

A low and hoarse, yet eloquent voice murmured behind Lina.

“Huh?”
Just as Lina was about to turn around, a magic spell formula flashed across
her field of vision.
Her attention shifted instead to the formula, tracing its path toward the
monster army. Right then, all of those near the south gate had their eyes
filled with an explosion of brilliant red.

“Heaven’s… Vermilion.”

The raging flames ripped through the earth, engulfing the monsters of the
surface.
But the breathtaking display of the finest magic was short-lived. The voice
behind Lina wasted no time to proceed to address those on the ground level.

“Viola, get ‘it’ set up.”

“All units! Forward!”

Then the sound of countless footsteps suddenly emerged from nowhere.

Lina traced them to their origin, which led her eyes to the inner side of the
wall, at which she saw a familiar glowing light.

-The light of a Teleportation Spell Circle.

Magic Guardians were walking out of it, one after another.

Magic Guardians, full of confidence and pride, sporting the uniform that
any Magic University student would yearn for, marching under perfect
command.

“You all have done well to defend your position…”

Lina heard the voice from behind her again.
This time she turned around, and what she saw were two familiar faces
among a row of other stern-looking strangers.

“Sir Gaston! And Fuyu!”

Lina’s face was filled with joy. Gaston, as if to suppress her emotions,
pointed his staff forward.

“Do not look back. Face forward, Lina.”

“Yes, sir!”

Lina turned back again, holding her staff up to face the advancing enemies.
Fuyu stood next to her and started giving out instructions to the Magic
Guardians as they came up to the wall.

“We will now coordinate with the adventurers and Magic University
students. Move in groups of three and fill in the blind spots as you fight and
support them.”

“”HOOAH!””

Their collective enthusiasm was ear-piercing.

Gaston stared intensely straight ahead and muttered a few words,

“Overrun them.”
And as if in response to those words, Viola passed her command to those
down below.

“All units, advance!”

“”OOOOOOOHHHHHHHH!!””

The other combatants also raised a war cry, as if to match up with the
Magic Guardians.
All this was thanks to the unexpected reinforcements and Gaston’s
presence.
Lina, too, put up an act of enthusiasm and gritted her teeth tightly, as if to
brush off her fatigue.

[It’s all right… we can do this!]

Seeing how Lina was putting up a brave front, Gaston raised an eyebrow.

[Hmm, still plenty of room for improvement. But then again, she’s achieved
this much before even turning twenty… One would consider this to be an
extraordinary showcase of talent. The young man sure has an impressive
apprentice under his wing…]

Gaston slightly raised the corners of his mouth as he jumped out of the
wall-top’s narrow space.

“Now, Lina, follow my lead!”

“Yes, sir!”
Later, as the continuous rain started to subside, as the glow of dusk tapered
to a thin line and the veil of night covered the sky, the last of today’s
monsters dropped dead on the ground.
This monster attack on Beilanea had plunged the people of the War Demon
nation into fear and insecurity.
The times truly were headed toward a dark era.
For some reason, I felt a look of great pity coming from behind me.
I could easily tell whomever it belonged to – none other than…!

“What are they doing…?”

Young Bright was giving me and Pochi a cold stare… and his facial
expression suggested that he was at an indecision over whether or not to
heave a sigh.
But I’d had no hand in this matter – it was but a part of Pochi’s selfish
shenanigans. All I was doing was playing along with her.
Perhaps to bail me out since I couldn’t bring myself to answer to Bright…
as I’ve been stuck making excuses to myself, Chappie answered him,

“It seems that mother and father are… practicing their ‘cool shouting’ in
preparation for battles against humans, which we likely will see more of in
the near future. This might be a good learning experience, Bright, so you
ought to observe as well-“

While Chappie was in the middle of his explanation, Bright had already
ignored him and started reading a magic textbook.
The boy’s efficient, that’s for sure.
He’d probably decided that he didn’t need it, and decided to spend his
precious time reviewing his studies instead.
Hmm, looks like he doesn’t have any interest in anything without ‘magic’
in its name.
Perhaps he needs more guidance – nope, in all seriousness, he doesn’t.

“All right! This is where the thugs enter the scene, sir!”

Welp, looks like it’s my turn to take to the stage.

I’ve got to do a flip and go ‘gawr!’ if I remember right.
…The hell’s up with that shoddy choice of a roar, though? Am I not
supposed to be a human?
Nope, I’ve got to make things right – let’s just flip Pochi’s script a bit
here…

“Gigigigigi… gehehehehe! You have nowhere to run now, Shiro!”

“…”

Huh, isn’t her reaction a bit… nonexistent?

“Fwahahahahaha! Be a good dog and surrender!”

“……”

Strange. No reaction from Pochi even after I’d changed my character.

Now, don’t tell me she’s…

“ga…”

Ooh, she finally reacted.

Bah, I swear… she’s so bloody stubborn!
“-…Gawr!”

“Ngh-! I never thought you’d catch up to me!”

Damn it, you little…!

“Chappie! Let me take care of this villain and-“

“-Mother, it’s time for food!”

“Oh, you can leave that to him!”

Although I was quite annoyed by how Pochi’s ears stood right up, I
proceeded to retrieve a pot and some ingredients from the Storeroom.
Meanwhile, Bright slapped his magic textbook shut and moved to the edge
of the nearby cliff.
…Hmm, looks can’t quite tell what he’s up to.
Chappie and Pochi dug up a small pit for a fire.
And while they were doing that, I kept an eye on Bright-

“So slow, sir!”

…Without time for distractions, I started cooking a meal for all of us.
Now then, how many days had it been since we’d gone through the cave?
Should be one week… right, should be seven days today.
Look down from the cliffside, and we’ll see the land of T’oued.
Ah, yes, the people of the East… Two days ago, I’d seen some of them
walking around with smiles on their faces, wearing clothes called ‘wasou’.
We had thought we could just jump straight in, but when we’d reached the
entrance checkpoint of Eddo, the capital of T’oued, we’d seen ‘them’.
The very people we’d let overtake us the other day, team Chiquiata of the
Douglas household… Never had we thought a simple checkpoint would
station someone that powerful.
Although I had thought it would be pointless for them to lay a net here, we
had indeed gotten caught in their machination, and were unable to do
anything since.

It seemed that the people of the Holy Nation – War Demon Nation in my
days – rarely entered this land, as apparent from the highway having only a
single person walking on it.
Meaning, so long as we don’t find another way… we’re as good as
stranded.
During the first day and a half, we had tried devising a plan to break our
way through, but ended up not getting any good ideas.
Being stuck in the same place and in such a frustrating predicament for a
long time, the Fulbright household’s young lad has been frequently
watching the enemy’s movements.
But here’s the problem – they’re not even moving at all.

“So, have you come up with anything we could do, sir?”

After the meal, as I sat alone on the edge of a cliff, Pochi came to sit down
next to me.

“Burp…”

Then she burped.

“For someone who always calls herself ‘pretty,’ you’re unsightly as all hell,
you know that?”

Pochi promptly shut her mouth in embarrassment, but with her eyes
retaliating with a defiant look. Wall, the same as usual.

“Wolves aren’t even supposed to worry about these things in the first place,
sir!”

Bah, no matter how many times I question her, it’s the same excuse back
every time… so much for a Familiar trying to act as if she lives in a human
society!
It’s nothing surprising, so to speak, but aside from Pochi’s insistent claims
of being a lady, there’s nothing about her suggesting that to remotely be the
case.

“So, you got anything, sir?”

“Nope, still nothing.”

“I see…”

Hey, can’t blame me when no one’s been getting any ideas either.
The plan that was most likely to succeed was to have Chappie, the ‘Violet
Phoenix,’ to carry us over the border, one at a time… but he couldn’t be
separated from his parent figures – get too far from both of us, and he’d
panic so hard that he couldn’t move. That was one of his glaring
weaknesses.
I had no intention of spoiling him, but this seemed to be an instinctual
occurrence, so it didn’t seem like it could be fixed until the right time came
along.
And if he were to try getting more than one across at once, they’d probably
all plunge straight down to hell.

“Anyway… do you think everyone back home is doing all right, sir?”

Andddddd she just had to bring up THAT subject.

Referring to our friends back in the future, of course – Perhaps she’d
thought it would be a good change of pace.

“Lina, Tifa, Miss Irene, Sir Gaston… and Bruce, Haruhana, everyone in
The Silver… Yeah, they should be trucking along just fine.”

None of them originated in this era, so there’s no problem in letting Bright

hear their names.
Not that there’s a need to worry about that, what with him reading his magic
textbook a good distance away from us.

“Don’t just forget Baladd and Tarawo like that, sir.”

“Yeah, yeah.”

Pochi was especially concerned about her fellow Familiars… So she’s

actually a bit lonely being stuck here, huh?

“Speaking of which, do you remember that thing you gave to Itsuki? Does
it actually work, sir?”

“Hmm, probably. If Tifa and Tarawo got closer to each other since then, it’ll
definitely work. I’ve made sure of it by using you as- oh, never mind.”
“Huh, weren’t you about to say some other thing there?”

“Uh, nope, nothing.”

That was a close one.

I was about to explain how I’d experimented on Pochi to test out a medicine
with effects proportional to the strength of one’s emotional bonds to
another.
Once when Pochi had been asleep, I’d dribbled the medicine into her
gaping mouth… and she’d turned into some kind of larva. Panicked quite
hard there.
Well, that was how I’d found out that it worked only limited time, though.

“Hmm~~ Aren’t you being a bit suspicious~~?”

“J-just don’t worry about it. So, you’re curious about that medicine or
something?”

“No, not the medicine itself, but Tarawo’s transformation.”

“Aha. Yeah, he was originally a King Wolf Garm, so it should turn him
back without any issue… I think?”

King Wolf Garm… huh.

Their population was quite small, but for how dangerous one was as an
individual monster, their kind had been considered for the S Rank
classification.
Tarawo specifically seemed to have lived an unexpectedly long life, too, so
in his original form, he could even be stronger than an actual S-ranked
monster.
Well, the same goes for the Kaiser Dyno Dīnō, though. Whoever survives
the process of natural selections gets stronger and stronger.
And if not for the curse, Tifa would never have gotten her Familiar Contract
sealed in the first place.

“What?! You mean Tarawo can do like… SCHWING! And transform into
his former self?!”

Well then, apparently Pochi thinks that this kind of transformation ability
would be cool to have.
But true, it’s quite an attractive notion, a little beast being able to suddenly
change its form into a gigantic, powerful monster.
……Huh? A transformation? ……Aha!

“That’s right! Transformation!”

“PWHUH-?!”

I grabbed Pochi by her cheeks and squeezed them.

Pochi was, as anyone would have expected, quite startled.
Chappie also was startled, but by my voice, springing up and flapping his
wings vehemently.
Bright, as if he had been waiting for me to say something, slapped his
magic textbook shut, rushed to my side, and grabbed my mantle. Like, an
eagle grip kind of grab.

“D-don’t tell me, we’re finally getting… new forms?!”

Pochi’s eyes were glittering brighter than ever, and overflowing with
anticipation.

“…That’s right, we’ll all transform!”

The Reincarnated Corporate Slave
Will Not Rest Until He Becames the
Strongest in the Other World
Chapter 80
“Hmm,Lightning Spear is improved so as not to damage the demon core?
This is the wisdom of an adventurer. “

Tanato-san was watching my fight as he was interested.

“Hmm … is it like this?”

Tanato-san muttered, Icicle javelin hit the ghoul’s demon core directly.

“No, no? I crushed the demon core.”

Are you serious?

The demon core broke, but Isn’t it a magic that should be called?

“Maybe the hole was a little small. I think it’s better to make it a size that
has a margin, not the size of the devil’s core.
“Oh, let’s do it.”

When I gave a little advice, Tanato-san immediately improved the magic

and released it to the zombies, and succeeded in removing the demon core
without damaging it.

I mean, it’s just an improvement of the original magic-well, it’s just an

improvement of the existing magic-and it’s easy to reproduce just by
looking at the magic …
It seems he’s a genius.
“Haha, this magic is interesting. The undead are like garbage.”

Tanato-san happily kills the undead.

It seems that he is not an adventurer from the story, but if not, why are
you in such a place?
Who the hell is that? The mystery is only deepening.

There was no particular problem with me alone, but the search was very
stable with the accompanying talented person named Tanato.
When I reached the 45th floor, a large room appeared at the end of the
aisle.

When I measured the size of the room with “Physical Detection” and the
approximate quality and number of monsters with “Magic Sensing”, it was
a medium-sized monster house.

“There are quite a few. Moreover, there may be three high-ranking species
with strong magical reactions.”
“Um, it’s a high ghoul. It’s a monster with physical and thinking abilities
that is comparable to ghouls and zombies.”

I thought that the higher-ranking species would come soon because the
level of monsters would rise by dividing them into five levels, but was the
first encounter going to be with a monster house?

…… Well, what can I do?

Just in case, there will be no problem if I fight to determine the strength
of the high rank species while securing a retreat so as not to go deep.
“I will cut it to the extent that they do not chase deeply as an avant-garde. It
would be helpful if Tanato-san reduced the number by magic.”
“Mu? What if the magician cuts into this monster house?”

Oh, by the way, I didn’t use a sword because there was no room for the
enemy to approach after joining Tanato-san.

“I’m also a swordsman, so it’s okay.”

When I laughed while hitting the sword on my waist, Tanato-san was

amazed and muttered something while looking down.

“Hmm … if you say so, let’s leave it to me.”

Tanato-san nodded, pondering.

“Yes, thank you.”

Nodding back to Tanato-san, he steps into the monster house while

applying a lightning aura to himself.
Immediately, nearby ghouls and zombies attacked.

The ghouls attacking with slow movements are separated from the
demon core at Iai and cleared up instantly.
I walk toward high ranks while turning the small fish into ashes.

“What …”
When I turned around thinking that there was no support from Tanato-
san, Tanato-san who regained himself used an Icicle cylinder and Began to
slaughter the ghouls.
As the enemy’s wall decreased, I and high rank’s eyes crossed.

“Gugao !!”

High ghoul, who noticed me, rushed to me with his eyes shining
brightly.
Along with that, the movements of the surrounding ghouls become
quicker and attack.
It seems that the movement of the subordinates is controlled by the effect
of “army command” possessed by the upper species.

“Huh!”

The ghouls who approached all at once from the surroundings were
Blown away with air strike.
I stepped on the ground with my right leg, looking sideways at the ghouls
who were knocking down the dominoes.

“Fushiikazuchi”

――Bachichichichichi! !!

A lightning strike runs around the ground in an instant from the ground
that has been trampled.
It’s still bad practice, but it’s more efficient than before because I’ve been
playing with some techniques from the martial arts festival.
I haven’t raised that much output, but it’s still enough to stop the ghouls.
The ghouls around them spewed smoke from their mouths and crawled
on the ground.
The lower part of the body or the part on the ground is carbonized, and it
is not in a state where it can fight properly. It can be said that this was
almost completely incapacitated.

On the other hand, High ghoul was approaching, while making a painful
moan.
Is it a place like a high-ranking species? The lower species have thick
magical power that is only thinly worn, and it seems that magic resistance is
also high.

“Gugee !!”

High ghoul shook his sharp claws with magical power with agility that
could not be thought of as undead.
I calmly assess the movement and parry the claw attack with a sword.
Weapons that rub against High ghoul’s sharp claws make the sound of
metal rubbing and scatter sparks.

I immediately struck two swords on High ghoul, who had been parried by
the attack and lost his posture, and buried him.

High ghoul was a little harder than the lower species, but it was still weak
enough to be easily cut off.
The attack is moderately powerful, but if it doesn’t hit, there’s nothing
wrong with it.

Since I have determined the ability of High ghoul to some extent, I will
not hesitate to slash.
He knocks down the ghouls and slashes them, and immediately
approaches another high ghoul.

“Gugyoe !?”

While High ghoul is collapsing, It seems that he finally realized that he

had been slashed.

“Huh … after all, Fushiikazuchi Is still unfinished … Magical efficiency,

power, range of effect, all are still … “

It seems that Tanato-san blew out as he heard the reflection that he

spilled while watching the ghouls who became ashes while controlling the
monster house.

“Huh, hahaha! It’s funny, Sirius! Are you really human?”

“What do you mean!?”

Tanato-san laughed even more when I put in the tsukkomi.

“Haha, huh … hmm, don’t worry about it. Let’s take a break here for the
time being. You’ve used that much magic, it’s going to be pretty painful.”
“No, I’m okay–“
“Don’t overdo it. It’s boring to come here and die for you.”
“……I understand”

I decided to take a break, thinking that it was really okay.

The annihilated monster house is a safe zone because monsters do not
occur for a while.

“How was High ghoul?”

“It was a monster with a lot of power, but I wonder if it goes well with me,
it’s easier to fight than the higher-ranking species that appear in the upper
layers.”
“Hmm … Well, the undead lack agility. It wouldn’t go well with you as
you’re quick as thunder.”

Tanato-san put his hand on his chin and was thinking about something.

“By the way, Sirius, are you a student at Adventurer’s School at that age in
Central?”
“Yes”
“HM……”

I felt that Tanato-san’s eyes were shining.

“–This is getting more interesting …”

“Well, did you say anything?”
“No, nothing. Let’s go now.”

I felt that the corner of the mouth of Tanato-san who started walking
ahead of me was lifted.
“We’ve arrived.”
“Uh, uh …”
At about 3 o’clock in the middle of the night, I finally reached the 47th
floor.
I’m sorry that I couldn’t let Tanato-an go to sleep anyway, but he said he
could afford to stay up all night, so we are able to proceed to this point with
only a short break.
I think the time required was 18 hours, which was a reasonable speed.
On the way back, we should be able to return fairly quickly if we follow
the route mapped along the way.

After a pause of about an hour, we will continue to explore the 47th floor
while slashing the increasing number of high gurus as we go downstairs.
I feel that Tanato-san’s complexion is pale somewhere, but is that okay?

“Tanato-san, are you okay? I’m watching, so do you want to sleep a little?”
“No! Well, I can afford it! Well, if Sirius wants to take a rest–“
“I’m still okay …”
“… Um, me too …. Is it going?”

When I said that, Tanato-san went on with Zunsun.

Is it really okay …?
No, he’s such a high-ranking magician, and he won’t go crazy beyond his
limits.
I’m still exhausted, and I may have been too worried.

“Ah … Is an adventurer such a tough profession … I was a little tired …”

At last, Tanato-san made a noise and decided to take a break at the
former monster house that had been destroyed.

“Are you okay? Please, have some hot tea.”

Tea is brewed in boiling water made by water magic and fire magic, and
given to Tanato-san.
Tanato-san sipped tea with his eyes closed and exhaled.

“Thank you, Sirius. It was a tough road for the old body, probably because I
had never imposed a quota to go through the labyrinth …”
“Sorry, if I noticed a little earlier …”

If you think about it, was it that time, or even earlier? Anyway, I should
have taken a good rest when I felt that Tanato-san was tired.

“No, it’s not your fault …. By the way, I’d like to talk to you, but can you
sell the High ghoul’s demon core that you’ve picked up so far? Of course,
I’ll pay a premium for it. I was diving in the labyrinth to collect it. I was
thinking of diving a little more to collect it after parting from you, but since
there were surprisingly many appearances so far, it would be helpful if you
could give it away … How about it? Of course, you can decline it. “

Tanato-san asked to see what was going on.

From the beginning, I felt sorry for taking all the magic cores, so I
accepted without thinking.
Rather, I tried to give half of it for free, but after some discussion I
eventually handed it in exchange for gold coins.
I don’t know the price because I encountered High ghoul for the first
time, but it seems to be quite high considering the guild purchase price of
other materials so far.

“Thank you so much …”

“No, I was saved, thank you.”

Tanato-san and I laughed and shook hands.

As I proceeded while mapping, I felt multiple magical powers in a

slightly larger room.
This feeling of crowding, the magnitude of magical power, this is …
With that in mind, the person at the entrance seemed to notice this and
prepared for battle.

“You, stop …………… an adventurer?”

“Yes, my name is Sirius from the Adventurer’s Guild.”

I raise the guild card and show it to the soldiers.

Then the soldier looked at the card and me alternately and raised his
eyebrows.

“Hmm, surely an adventurer … C rank …? Hmm? And he’s small …

dwarves, gnomes … it doesn’t look like … kids …? You, what’s your
race?”
“I’m a human race …”
“… How old are you?”
“I’m twelve years old”
“… Are you alone?”
“No, I was solo halfway through, but on the way … that? Tanato-san?”

I can’t find Tanato-san next to me or behind me.

It doesn’t even detect magical power.
Where on earth did you go …?

“What happened? Did you get separated from the party members?”

The soldier was watching this with a look of a mixture of worries and
suspicions.
Tanato-san is … it feels like he was pinched by a fox.
For the time being, I don’t want the soldiers to be suspicious anymore, so
I decided to leave Tanato-san for the time being.

“… No, nothing.”
“… Hmm. But I’m sorry, but it’s a bit credible that you, a 12-year-old C-
rank, came to such a place solo … I’ll do some interrogation, so follow
me.”

The soldiers began to call their companions.

I understand his feelings, but I think it’s a little unreasonable.
Does this soldier have the authority to detain an adventurer in the first
place?

“I’m sorry, I know what you mean … Who are you before that? Do you
have the authority to officially belong to the Adventurer’s Guild and detain
me who is adventuring?”

When he asked, the soldier sighed and began to speak.

“Okay? I’m a labyrinth capture corps, a soldier in this kingdom. just follow
me silently-Buffo !?”

A muscular man who was approaching after the soldier suddenly dropped
his knuckle on the soldier.

“Hey! What are you doing to catch the adventurer! Did you forget that we
have a rule that should not interfere with the adventurer’s search !?”

When the bossy, muscular man shouted in a loud voice, the soldier who
was asking and answering sweated.

“Huh, Deputy Chief !? No, no! this child was lost, so I’m trying to protect
him !!”
“Children? Hmm, I see. You, treating an adventurer with this skill as a child
is a big deal, isn’t it?”

The man called the captain glanced at me with a grin, hoisting the corner
of his mouth.
The soldier who heard the words took his eyes off.

“… Huh?”
“That’s why you can’t get out of the apprenticeship. You can’t see the skill
of the other person because you’re confused by their appearance. Don’t
neglect to observe!”
“Yes! I wasn’t good!”

The soldier yelled at by the muscular man was slammed.

After preaching to the soldiers, Rough Macho turned around and bowed.

“I’m sorry that we got entangled strangely, Adventurer. I’m Warren, I’m the
deputy chief of the Labyrinth Capture Corps. I think you heard that the
Corps wouldn’t interfere with the adventurer. Rest assured that there aren’t
any. Well, there are a lot of annoying people from here onwards, so in that
sense it might be a nuisance. “
“I’m Sirius, thank you so much.”

Warren laughed as he bowed down.

“I’m going to be thankful. By the way, are you going to dive below this?”
“Today I’m thinking of turning back to this level …”

Warren looked a little relieved when I said that.

“Well … I know you’re a pretty big adventurer, but let me give you one
piece of advice. You shouldn’t think that the bottom is the same as the
previous level. It has reached the 49th floor, but it seems that the number
of monster houses has increased and it has become quite troublesome.
Moreover, the 50th floor is an unexplored boss room. There are countless
A-rank adventurers who have been sacrificed. …… I’m not crazy about
it. “

Warren, seems like a good guy but looks like a rough man, didn’t look
good and worriedly lowered his eyebrows.

“Thank you for your concern. I’m not going to go crazy, so don’t worry.”
“Hmm … this is the face of the guy who sticks to what he wants to do.
Well, be careful?”
Warren gave up and shook his head.
I’m not really going to go crazy, but … I want to aim for the 50th floor.
I’m sure that feeling has appeared on my face.
I could only make a bitter smile.

“Hmm … I’m sorry I stopped. You’re a master! … Hey, Abel! Didn’t you
see Captain Aho !? I’ll teach you a lesson! “

Warren turned his back and left, yelling at the soldier.

“Fa …”

During the lunch break, I yawned due to drowsiness after eating.

It seems that Muskel, who was chewing on a large yakiniku set meal next
to me, noticed it.

“Mmm! Sirius, you seem to be tired?”

“Oh, I’m a little late to sleep … I’m sorry to worry you.”

After all, the sleep time on holidays is about two hours in two days.
Although it does not hinder my life, I am drowsy.
In this world, not only energy drinks but also coffee is not found and
caffeine cannot be consumed efficiently, so it is not possible to make it as
unreasonable as in the previous life, so I have to be careful.
Next time, let’s roast the beans and make something coffee-like.

“Mmm, Sirius is busy … yes, do you eat this Mad Bull’s bone-in meat? If
you eat this after training, you’ll have good muscles!”
He is a man who can be sensitive and considerate of people regardless of
his dynamic appearance. Regardless of the content of concern, though.

“I’ve just finished my meal … I’ll just accept your feelings, thank you.”

Lancelot, who was watching our exchange with a bitter smile, put his
elbows on his desk, leaned forward, and started talking in a whisper.

“Well, isn’t today’s school tingling? Or rather, Sirius, aren’t you being
glared at by various guys? And they’re all bad guys. Did you have a
grudge?”
“No … I have no idea …”

Certainly, I can feel the line of sight from various places since I went to
school today.
No, if it’s just feeling the line of sight, it’s been the usual thing these
days, but as Lancelot says, it doesn’t seem to be a line of sight with very
good emotions.
No harm has been done so far, but it doesn’t feel good.

After school, I came to the arena to train with senior Zion.

It was a stadium where senior Zion reserved a section, but today there
were a lot of people crowding there.
Moreover, they were all like Yankees from a long time ago, such as
skinheads, Mohawk men, and women in black masks.
And from among them, one man with a stern look was walking toward
us.
“Yoyoyoyo, Zion-kun … It’s been a long time, isn’t it? Ah? I heard that
you’ve been sick for a while.
“Hey, Bo–“
“What do you call me by that name !? I’m Black. Black the Nightmare!”
“… Black, back. I’m glad you came back safely. By the way, we’re
planning to use this arena from now on. I’m sorry, but could you do
something else?”

Black had his face messed up with Zion-senpai and was holding his gun.
On the other hand, Senior Zion kept smiling and talked to Black in a
friendly manner.

“Ah? Kid, what are you going to do in a place like this with two people?
Kid You don’t have the right to use such a fine place for a slapstick that
gives you the number one spot! ?? “

As Black continues to point his guns at close range, Senior Zion shrugs
his shoulders as if in trouble.

“Huh … Bo-Black, what don’t you like? You can’t help losing.”
“I can’t help it … Daa …? I’m gonna be the number one, but I was working
hard while you were having a feast? Why don’t you come back? You’re
losing terribly !? Besides, … It’s Fuzaken !! You can’t believe it !! “

Black shouted out loud at a close distance, and Zion closed his ears while
squinting as if he was in trouble.
Senior Zion pushed Black’s shoulders with both hands, which seemed a
little annoying, and took a distance.

“How old doesn’t matter but how strong one is, don’t you know best?
Former genius boy Bob, a rare youngest enrollee “
“Don’t call me by that name! Chi … Already! Gaki … I’ll train you in
place of the stale Zion !! Come on!”

Bra … Senior Bob glanced at me and shook his head towards the arena.
To be honest, I was confused because I couldn’t keep up with the
development, and my senior apologized and lowered his eyebrows.

“Well … that seems to be the quickest story … Sirius, I’m sorry, but I’ll ask
Bob for a fight.”
“Ah?”

It’s unclear whether he was angry due to the name of Bob or due to the
attitude of the senior, but senior Bob turned bright red and made the blood
vessels stand out.

“Okay … Bob, thank you!”

“Ahhh !? Gakii … this Black the Nightmare and rotting … will burn out
with the flames of wrath !!”

Senior Bob finally leaked his energy from his body and leaked it from his
body.
The yankee, which turns bright red and trembles and steams, is a
terrifying sight to say the least.

“… Sirius will do it too.”

Meanwhile, only Senior Zion was smiling happily.

Trash skill Gacha – Volume 2
Chapter 32
By the time we got back to the village it was totally dark outside. …It might
be tough to go to the slime village today. As I thought so, I looked over the
goblins and werewolves Livia and Orphe gathered for me.
“We defeated the werewolves that appeared earlier.” Hearing me say this,
the goblins and werewolves let out sighs of relief. I quickly added more.
“However, I suspect the enemy will likely be moving out this way. We need
to stay on alter for whenever the enemy makes their move.”
“…” My words frightened about half of them. The other half were full of
spirit. …Most of the werewolves wanted to face them.
“There’s something else I’d like you to hear. If you know anything
regarding this, please let us know. Livia, please.”
“Yes.” I turned their attention to Livia. She took out a single stone. It wasn’t
just a regular rock, rather it was about the size of the magic stones the
werewolves ate before.
“When we were battling the werewolves earlier, they ate magic stones
about this size, resulting in their bodies getting stronger. Does anyone know
of anything regarding this?”
“…” Everyone exchanged looks with each other. I guess it’s no good. As I
thought so, a single werewolf hesitantly raised their hand.
“U, um… When a monster from the vampire race came to the village
awhile ago, I saw them give a magic stone like that to a werewolf.”
“…What!? Really!?”
“Y, yes! I only thought of it as a simple jewelry exchange at the time
though.”
“The vampire tribe, huh. I’ve never seen them before though?” Questioned
Orphe.
“I believe you had gone off to bed already at the time, lord Orphe.”
“I see… Oh yeah, I guess I’ve heard about there being a vampire tribe
further north from the northern werewolf village.” Orphe seemed surprised.
“So that happened while I was asleep…”
“…Could I hear more about that? What kind of race is the vampire tribe?
Am I correct to assume they drink blood?” A vampire… I’ve heard that
they are monsters who drink blood. They were treated as dangerous
monsters even in the upper world. They rarely appear in the upper world,
leaving traces of dread wherever they go.
I’d heard about them from children’s tales. ‘Bad kids who go out at night
will be attacked by the vampires.’ …They surprisingly have quite a number
of weaknesses though. They don’t handle gaarlic well, and they’re weak to
sun rays.
Orphe folded his arms and furrowed his brows in thought.
“Do you know anything Livia?”
“Right. You aren’t wrong that they’re blood suckers. But it would be best
not to call them that rather than ‘vampire’.”
“…Is that right?”
“Yes. Us goblins are also called ‘little ogres.’ ‘Ogre’ is a word to describe
beings like us who are more savage, so I expect vampires feel the same way
about it.”
“Is that right. You’re pretty knowledgeable, Livia.” I best watch what I say
if I ever come to meet some vampires.
“My mother taught me about them. Anyway, the vampire tribe is, like the
youko1 tribe, specialized in their magical abilities. I’ve heard that they’ve
made various magic tools… so that apply may to those magic stones.”
“…I see.” In any case, now we know that the magic stones are related to the
vampire tribe. …Now it’s just a question of how much the vampire tribe is
involved in this. Glancing around, I could see that the goblins and
werewolves had worried expressions.
I called out to get their attention. “Listen everyone!” Hearing me raise my
voice, Orphe turned towards me. After giving a nod, he raised up one of the
swords for everyone to see. The onlookers tilted their heads.
“What is that?”
“That sword is really beat up…”
“This is the sort of weapon the northern werewolves are using!” They were
surprised by my words. Then, a small sneer appeared on their faces. Picking
up on that, I continued, “Yeah, let me say what you’re all thinking. ‘Are
those guys seriously using such seedy weapons?’ The answer is yes.
Certainly, the werewolves can use magic stones to strengthen their bodies.
That’s certainly impressive, however, I doubt they can even cook with those
weapons.”
Everyone grinned at that.
“If they come to invade us, we also heave plenty of weapons. The number
of us who can use a bow is increasing. Those guys just have some cheep
swords. We should be able to drop those guys before they can even bust
through our gate!”
Since I was speaking superfluously to raise moral, I gave everyone a smile.
They all regained their spirit. Seeing this, I let out a small sigh of relief such
that no one would notice.
“Alright, let’s end this here. Stay vigilant if you’re on night watch.”
Everyone nodded to me and went off for dinner. As I separated from
everyone, Livia followed behind me.
“…I didn’t think you could use that beat up sword like that. As expected of
you, lord Crest.”
“No, I didn’t think it would go that well either. Well, I’m just glad they
calmed down.”
“Right. …Orphe is a bit worried, however.”
“I guess so. He’s a bit worked up after all. …It’s not like Orphe is the cause
of this so he doesn’t need to worry about it though.”
“Yes, I think so too.” As Livia was looking to me with a smile, Orphe came
over to us. Behind him were several other werewolves. …With a stern
expression on his face, he bowed his head to me.
“Crest… could you give me permission to attack them?” …He opened up
with some very violent words.
Chapter 18 – The Power of Fairies
For the time being, I put the Guardian Golem in the [Item Box].
The Mithril is quite useful.
It can be sold for quite a sum, and it can be processed into weapons,
armour, and magic tools.
All I have to do now is release the fairy.
I turned back and came back to the house where the fairies lived.
Gently knock on the door of the small house with the second joint of my
index finger.
“I’ve defeated the Golem”
When I said that, the fairy I mentioned earlier appeared terrified.
“really……?”
“Yup. You can get out of here now.”
I took out the golem from the Item Box to prove it.
The fairy who saw it opened her eyes wide.
After staring at the golem for a while, the fairy looked at me.
The expression of the fairy became brighter.
“Thank you!”
She bowed vigorously and went back into the small house.
Then, with the other fairies, a total of five fairies appeared.
“” “” “”Thank you for helping us! “” “” “”
All the fairies bowed at once and thanked me.
“Never mind that. I helped because I wanted to. “
“God …! Thank you!”
With that said, the fairies called me God, and words of gratitude flew out
again and again
“Haha, god is an exaggeration. I have a name called Noah. “
“” “” “Noah-sama! Noah-sama! “” “” “”
The fairies were very happy.
I’m really glad that I was able to help them.
[I don’t know what they’re saying, but I know that they’re grateful to
Noah.]
Fafnir, who doesn’t understand the fairy’s language, leaked such an
impression.

I took the fairies and jumped into the Dimensional gap at the base of the
giant tree.
The destination was a dark place, but a blue flame was lit on the wall.
When I touched the wall, it turned out to be a magic ore.
If you look closely, on the walls ancient characters were engraved.
“Hey, This is the ancient magic 《Torch》 ”
The blue flames that illuminate the area were made by ancient magic.
“Where is this …?”
“scary……”
“I want to go back to the forest …”
The fairies were frightened at this place.
“Wow, it’s amazing. Suddenly a person, fairies, and a child dragon
appeared.”
There was a female voice from behind.
When I turned around, a woman in a white coat was sitting down.
…… A white coat?
“Oh, are you okay?”
I reached out.
“Yeah, I’m okay! More than that, who are you? This is amazing! I’m
surprised that you suddenly appeared from the ancient ruins I was
exploring! Hey, where did you come from? Are you a surviving ancient
species?”
The woman was holding my hand with both hands, her eyes were shining.
“Calm down, I’m just an adventurer and I don’t even know where this is.”
“Eh-! Adventurer! But you were reading the ancient characters properly!?
You were muttering something! It’s amazing! You can read it right?”
She was a person who said whatever she wanted.
It seems that she thinks I can read ancient characters for some reason.
Well, I can read it, but …
“You said you’re an adventurer? What’s your name? Maybe you’re a pretty
famous and high-ranking adventurer? By the way, I’m Yun, a magician and
archaeologist. Nice to meet you. “
The woman in a white coat seems to be named Yun.
The story goes on and on.
Should I introduce myself too …
“I’m Noah, an F-class adventurer. Where on earth is this?”
Also, I would like to ask where this place is.
If I know where this is, I can return to Rubelup with 《Teleportation》.
“F-class adventurer!? Surprisingly …! But it’s more mysterious and
wonderful. And here is the ruins of an ancient civilization east of Redolf,
the royal capital of the Kingdom of Lasdea.”
This is the ruins of an ancient civilization east of the royal city of Redolf?
No way, ancient characters were used here too.
Perhaps ancient characters are also used in unexplainable archaeological
sites around the world.
When I think about it, I got excited, but now the priority is to return the
fairies to the forest.
I want to reassure them as soon as possible.
However, if I want to “Teleport” to the Forest of Rubelup, I need a lot of
magical power, but I have to do it.
“I understand. Thank you. Maybe I can meet Yun again somewhere.”
After saying that, I used 《Teleportation》.
“Wait a minute! You suddenly appeared here, are you going to disappear
suddenly again!?”
“Oh, yes”
What a good guess.
“Please! Tell me where you are working! And let’s explore the ancient ruins
together!”
I was also interested in this ancient ruin, so I thought it would be an
interesting proposal.
“By all means. I’m working in Rubelup now. I’ll be there for a while, so if
Yun wants to meet me, please visit Rubelup’s Adventurer’s Guild.”
“Okay! I’m heading to Rubelup!”
“Let’s meet again ── 《Teleportation》”
When I moved to the Rubelup Forest, I had an intense headache.
My vision started to spin and I collapsed on the spot.
“Oh?”
Blood is flowing from my nose.
My body wouldn’t move.
This is bad … My magic power has been exhausted due to the overuse of
ancient magic.
I used a lot of ancient magic today, was the long-distance 《Teleportation》
too much for me in the end?
My body is heavy and I feel very uncomfortable.
Damn, I have to deliver the fairy flower to Karl as soon as possible …!
“” “” “Noah-sama! “” “” “”
The fairy shouted and flew around me.
Glittering blue powder flutters down.
“Now, I’ll help Noah-sama”
“I have to return the help I received here!”
“Everyone! We will help Noah-sama!”
The fairies continued to dance.
Little by little, it feels like my magic power is recovering.
This blue shining powder seems to have the effect of restoring magical
power.
When my magic power recovered to a certain extent, the weight and
discomfort of my body diminished.
I got up,
“Thank goodness! Noah-sama got up!”
“Hooray! Hooray!”
The fairies were happy around me.
“You guys helped a lot.”
“Hai……! I’m glad that Noah-sama is alive!”
With that said, the fairy wiped her tears.
But she was happily smiling.
After my body recovered, I was guided to the fairy’s residence.
It was they were living in a small house on a big tree.
I see, did you live in such a place?
I decided to ask the fairies how they were trapped in the Garden of puppets
“By the way, why were you trapped there?”
“We usually live in hiding, but the dark spirit found us, and all the fairies
living in the forest have been trapped in that place.”
“The dark spirit … What is it?”
“I don’t know if it’s a spirit. I couldn’t see it because it blended into the
darkness …”
“Well, that can’t be helped.”
“I’m sorry I wasn’t any help …”
“No. That’s not true. For the time being, you may be attacked by the dark
spirit again in the future, so let’s take measures against that. “
The dark spirit may attack again in the future.
The Garden of puppets is so powerful that it seems that it had some serious
meaning to keep the fairy in that space.
…… Well, Fafnir defeated Golem in an instant.
“Yes! Thank you!”
“Noah-sama! Thank you!”
“Hurray Noah-sama!”
The other fairies who heard it were also pleased.
I’m very happy to be thanked by someone.
I don’t want their peaceful lives to be threatened.
I painted a spot in where the fairies lived and drew.
This is an ancient magic called 《Spatial Transfer》.
Set the transfer destination to me and they can transfer to me at any time
they want.
I explained that to the fairies,
“Thank you!”
“I feel safe now!”
“If Noah-sama is here to help me anytime, I’m not scared at all!”
This will give them a peace of mind for the time being.
Then I asked about the fairy flowers.
“Everyone can make fairy flowers!”
“Those things just pop out by themselves while we’re living!”
Is that so.
The reason why it is difficult to find fairy flowers might be that the fairies
usually live on big trees.
“Some girl will die without a fairy flower. Will you make a fairy flower to
help the child?”
“””””of course! “” “” “”
With that said, the fairies went to the forest.
“Found it. It’s this flower!”
There was a flower with white petals.
Is this a White moonflower?
White moonflowers are often used for tea.
It has a calming effect.
The fairies flew around the White moonflower.
The blue shining powder accumulates on the petals.
Then, strangely, the colour of the petals of the white moonflower gradually
changed to blue.
Then, when the petals of the white moonflower were dyed in a beautiful
blue color, the fairies stopped dancing.
“” “” “It’s done! Fairy flower! “” “” “”
“Thank you.”
I put the fairy flower that shined blue in my [Item Box].
Then I left the fairies and returned to Rubelup.
Before I knew it, it was almost dawn.

Then I delivered the fairy flower to Karl.
Her condition was so serious that there wasn’t enough time to call an
alchemist to make the elixir.
Alchemy was an ancient magic that could be applied as long as it was
compounded correctly.
When I told him that I could make an elixir, Karl said
“Noah-san … Thank you …! Please help my daughter …!”
With that said, he trusted me a lot.
Even though I’ve found the fairy flower, I think it would be difficult to trust
me as an F-class adventurer.
And yet, Karl undoubtedly trusted me.
──If I don’t live up to that expectation, it would be rude to them.
Holy water, mermaid tears, all-purpose grass, and fairy flower.
Put it in a kettle and chant ancient magic.
“《All-purpose mixing》”
The liquid in the kettle mixes around by itself.
A number of bubbles came out from the surface of the water, and steam
rises.
Soon the water temperature reaches the boiling point, the bubbles disappear,
and the water temperature gradually drops.
All the materials in the kettle were mixed, and a clear light blue liquid was
made ── The Elixir was completed.
Put the elixir in a glass bottle and give it to Karl.
“The elixir is complete. Please give it to your daughter as soon as possible.”
“I understand!”
Karl took a deep breath and received the glass bottle.
Then he raised his my bedridden daughter’s body and slowly gave her the
elixir.
“………… Hmm? Dad ……?”
The daughter who opened her eyes was staring at Karl with a mysterious
expression.
When Karl saw it, he hugged his daughter with all his might.
“I’m glad! I’m really glad you’re safe!”
He said so in tears, and Karl’s wife also wept and hugged them.
I’m really glad his daughter was cured.
And I was a little jealous about how close they were.
By the way, it’s also unfashionable to disturb the family’s reunion.
I quietly left Karl’s house and headed for the inn.

The elixir completely cured Karl’s daughter’s magic meridian sclerosis

syndrome.
The whole family thanked me and they even treated me to a meal.
I was very happy.
For a few days, I checked their daughter’s situation with “Magic Analysis”.
The magic power was flowing firmly throughout the body, it was a healthy
body.
I have completed the quest that Karl requested.
The fairy flowers were delivered before the quest order was placed, and
Karl, a guild official and client, talked about the quest.
He wanted to give me 5 platinum coins as a reward.
I said that the money should be used for his daughter but,
“I’ve already used it for my daughter. Now, Noah, please take it.”
When I was told that, I couldn’t return a word.
[Kukuku, Noah. Noah took it.]
I remember Fafnir laughing happily.

“Heeee, so that happened.”
I was sitting in the Adventurer’s Guild and telling Serena what had
happened so far.
I haven’t had a chance to talk to her since the fight with Fafnir.
I met Serena in the Adventurer’s Guild for the first time in four days, and
now we’re having lunch together.
“Then that archaeologist? Isn’t it strange for her to come to Rubelup?”
“I wonder? Maybe she forgot about it.”
“Maybe, but as far as I can tell, I think she’s really interested in Noah.”
The door of the adventurer’s guild opened vigorously.
“Is there an F-class adventurer called Noah? I have a quest for him!”
The voice did not care about the eyes of the adventurers around her and
walked into the center of the guild while flipping her lab coat.
Speaking of the devil,
That is Yun, the archaeologist I met at an ancient ruin.
For the time being, I have been promoted to E-class because of the
achievement of Karl’s quest.
“She’s calling you?”
“That’s right. ── Hey, Yun! Here here!”
“Oh, you were there!”
When Yun noticed me, she rushed to me and sat in a chair around the desk.
“Who is that? Noah’s girlfriend?”
“Gir, girlfriend !?”
“Haha, you’re being rude to the A-class adventurer Serena. She’s just a
friend.”
“You are an A-class adventurer at that age!? You’re amazing! Why don’t
you join us in exploring the ruins of an ancient civilization east of the royal
city of Redolf? It would be more reassuring if we were joined by an A-class
adventurer! “
“Ruins of ancient civilization … I see, that’s why you asked Noah.”
“Exactly!”
“It sounds fun, but I’m a Rubelup class A adventurer, so I can’t leave here.”
“Oh, ok. I’m sorry.”
“That’s why I will part with Noah.”
Serena said with a lonely look.
“If you have a chance to come to Rubelup again, come visit me again.”
“Of course”
I shook hands with Serena and left Rubelup on this day.
The royal capital, Redolf, is quite far from Rubelup, which is a three-day
carriage ride away.
As a result, quests near the royal capital, Redolf, are outside the jurisdiction
of the Adventurer’s Guild in Rubelup.
For a quest to be accepted as a formal request, it was necessary to go
through the procedure at the Adventurer’s Guild in the royal capital.
Yun calls herself a magic tool engineer and has made her own means of
transportation.
The name of the magic tool is a magic motorcycle.
It is fueled by magic power.
Since it is equipped with a magic stone with abundant magic power, it is
quite costly to operate, but the performance is excellent.
It moves faster than a horse-drawn carriage.
I got on the back of the motorcycle with Yun.
After leaving Rubelup, we camped for a day, and on the second day, we
finally saw the royal capital, Redolf.
“So that’s the royal capital, Redolf.”
When I saw Redolf from a distance, what caught my eye was a tower, it was
so big that it penetrates the clouds as if it continues to the heavens.
It seems that the Sky Tower was originally a bridge connecting the ground
and the city of the sky in heaven.
The truth is uncertain, but the fairy tale of the Sky Tower is world-famous.
“It’s amazing, isn’t it?”
Yun proudly muttered while driving the magic motorcycle.
“Yes …! I always wanted to climb the Sky Tower!”
I was excited to see the Sky Tower.
It is no wonder that many researchers are eager to solve the mystery of the
Sky Tower.
The upper part of the sky tower broke and fell a long time ago.
But strangely, the upper part, has not been found.
Well, I don’t know how true it is though.
The top of the sky tower has already been renovated, and now it’s just a
huge tower overlooking the area.
“Fufufu, ordinary people can’t climb the Sky Tower, but I’m an
archaeologist so I can enter with Noah!”
“Huh, is that true !?”
“Yes, that’s true!”
“May I ask you to take me?”
“Of course! I think Noah would love the Sky Tower!”
“That sounds exciting”
“But it’s pretty hard to climb to the top, so you better prepare for that.”
Upon arriving at the royal capital, Redolf, we submitted the completion of
the quest in the Adventurer’s Guild and immediately decided to climb the
Sky Tower.
LDM 509 – Sisterly Contact
After spending quite a bit of money, we will finally meet Nayuta. Not long
after, Nayuta arrived at our room.
From the looks of it, she has been treated well. Her clothes are clean, her
hair and fur are shiny. You can’t have this luster if you clean it in a hurry.
Well, Naana didn’t say anything about her being mistreated… however, it’s
also true that making two magic tools per day is a pretty heavy task.
“Nice to meet you. I’m Nayuta… I heard Mr. Customer wants to make a
special order?”
“That’s right, or at least that’s our excuse.”
Narikin glanced at Naana(Toy).
“…Master, did you perhaps forget the question?”
“No, not at all. I thought I should leave you alone for a moment. …And to
be sure, what should I have asked her?”
Naana thought, really, this ‘Master’ of mine is… he probably thinking this
is a precious time to meet between sisters, that’s why he leaves this matter
in my hand.
Of course, it’s also possible that Narikin just doesn’t have the confidence to
explain the situation well enough to get the information out of Nayuta, and
It is also possible that Narikin really forgot about the question.
“Whichever it is, there’s no point to think too deeply about it. Well, it
cannot be helped then… I’m sure she wouldn’t answer if I approached her
normally, so I guess it’s my turn to do my best to force her.”
“? What is this all about?”
Naana(Toy) bowed reverently, to Nayuta who tilted her head.
“Nice to meet you, Nayuta-sama, …….No, let’s drop this… – it’s nice to
see you in good health, Leona’s granddaughter. “
When Naana said this, Nayuta cautiously crossed her arms and narrowed
her eyes.
“…Who are you?”
“I’m your sister, Toy. I move this body by using possession, but my original
body is dog-beastman.”
“Toy. …Really?”
“Yes …I once work directly under Leona-sama, but currently, I’ve rebelled
against her. then I followed her trace and found some fragment of it in this
country.”
Naana smiled, and Nayuta looked at her suspiciously. She wasn’t sure if
Naana is telling the truth or not, especially with that Leona-like shady-
looking smile on her face.
“So, why did you decide to talk to me? As you can see, I’m working as a
slave.”
“I know it’s just a sham, sister. Please tell me what you are looking for and
what you have found for your cute little sister.”
“… Well, if my sister begs me like that, I guess I have no choice.”
Nayuta relaxes her crossed arms, closes her eyes, and lets out a sigh.
As Nayuta softens her attitude, Narikin and Rokufa look at each other.
“Umm, what’s with that exchange?”
Rokufa raises her hand and asks honestly.
“… Oh, right. If you’re not a beastman, you won’t understand. It’s a matter
of hierarchy. The big brother and sister have a greater position than the little
brother and sister. But because they are greater, they have to protect and be
respected by those below them. Otherwise, you can’t proudly call yourself a
big brother or big sister.”
“In other words, it’s an advanced form of bargaining, saying, [I’ll let you
call yourself my big sister, but you have to give me some compensation.].”
“… I don’t understand how you can say it so shamelessly…”
“Sister? You said you would give me your info. Are you trying to go back
on your word?”
“I just want to tease you.”
“Ahh… I remember the days when I didn’t have a sister and Leona was
playing with me. Thanks to that, I can experience a lot of things.”
Nayuta giggles and shrugs her shoulders, “Oh dear, I totally get that.”
“I’ll give you all the information I have, although there’s something I can’t
say because of this job.” {referring to her slave contract}
“Please phrasing it in a way to get around the question, sister.”
“Yeah, yeah. But I will leave it to you to pick up the meaning.”
“At least I know you’re here for some job.”
“That goes without saying.”
Thus the exchange was so sisterly that it was hard to believe they had never
met before.
“… Hey, Naana. Did you really never meet your sister before? I mean, even
your body is not your original, isn’t she too quick to trust you?”
“That’s because we’re sisters. If you want, you can think of it as a skill we
inherited from Leona-sama.”
“I see.”
Narikin is convinced that such skill is real.
“I think my Master(Narikin) is way more puzzling. I don’t know why you
trust my word so easily.”
“Toy, that’s what we call a good person, or I should say a good employer?”
“Maybe that’s what we called good-natured person. To think that I used to
be enemies because of Leona-sama… And sister, please call me Naana
when I’m in this body.”
“Understood, Naana.”
Anyway, thanks to Toy’s efforts, they were able to get the information from
Nayuta.
“By the way, I want to make some custom-made magic tools. I’m going to
take the money for it since I work here, but I will make it specifically for
my sister.”
“Hmm, that’s fine. Naana has been very good to me, so let’s see what kind
of design will suit her.
I don’t know if it will fit Naana’s original body, but I would appreciate it.”
“Master, you’re just too soft…”
“Indeed, you’re a good employer.”
Naana then smiled, not noticing Nayuta’s warm gaze over her.
TL note:
Still sick, but it’s getting better.
Chapter 335 – That Person’s Name
That Person’s Name
Because of Patricia’s demonstration, troops of every country had started
putting much more effort in their training. Lawrence and Gerhardt’s
regimens, in particular, were grueling, but designed to boost one’s abilities.
As such, many capable warriors underwent training with them, even those
from other countries.
With the campsites next to each other, knights and soldiers came and went.
Despite the chill of winter getting harsher, the energy seemed to just be
getting higher.
「Hi, Luka.」Lavia greeted as she spotted Luka in the lobby.「What are
you reading?」
「Hey, Lavia.」
「Is that a letter? Oh, from him?」
「Yes, it’s a letter from Claude. He still thinks I’m in Einbeast. He tried to
send a letter through the Adventurers Guild.」
Luka had already registered as an adventurer. Considering the possibility of
Claude sending a letter to her, she asked the receptionist to hide the fact that
she was in Ville Zentra, and requested for any letter to be given to her
directly. This only worked because one couldn’t give false names during
registration.
「But he’s with the Einbeast army. Why wouldn’t he use the military’s
comms?」
「Others would know his message and that would be too embarrassing. He
said so in the letter.」
「So what did he say?」
「Do you want to read it?」
「Can I?」
「Yes. It’s nothing important, really.」
With a strained smile, Luka handed the letter to Lavia. The contents gave a
glimpse of Claude’s troubles and concerns. First, he explained the current
situation, and then next year’s outlook. He said he didn’t know when he’d
be back, but he promised he would return.
He added a rather patronizing message to Luka: “Please spend your days in
moderation”. Not a word that reaffirmed his love for his wife.
「Here.」Lavia returned the letter, speechless.
Luka gave a strained laugh.「I think it’s just him trying his best to put on a
brave front. He tends to write in a patronizing manner when he’s lonely.」
「Really?」
「Yes…」Luka said as she turned her gaze outside the window, at the
direction of the campgrounds.
Lavia realized something as she watched her face. She felt lonely as well.
She wanted to see Claude again. They might just be perfect for each other.

Around the same time, Hikaru and Paula were at the Adventurers Guild.
The whole town was restless as tomorrow was the last day of the year—
New Years’ Eve as it was called on Earth—when the Flower Festival would
be held.
While no adventurers took jobs around this time, the diligent soldiers of
Dream Maker still picked up commissions. That didn’t mean the guild was
deserted, however.
「What’s with all these people?」
「There’s so many of them…」
Adventurers crowded the guild, all the way outside.
「Did you see?!」
「I sure did! Such intensity. Rank A adventurers are on a whole other
level.」
「Did you see his sword?! And those muscles! Damn, so cool! Who cares
about rank? I wish they’d let me into their party.」
「They’ll probably turn you down.」
「Oh, I get it now.」Hikaru said.「It’s because the Master Swordsman and
the Beastman King suggested gathering more adventurers.」
「What do you mean?」Paula asked.
「They’re recruiting adventurers on a grand scale for the expedition to
Grand Dream. I guess the big names are coming in droves.」
Up until now, recruitment was done only in Ville Zentra’s guild, and it was
only for an escort job so the Adventurers Guild could open up a branch in
Grand Dream. But it was different now. Adventurers from all over the land
were drawn in by the sweet smell of treasure.
「Let’s just come back some other time.」
Hikaru came to the guild for the commission he put up. Lavia wanted to
purchase grimoires with unique fire or healing magic. He received word
yesterday that someone wanted to sell a book of healing magic, which
brought him here today. Then again, they weren’t really in a hurry, and he
had no energy to wedge his way in through the crowd.
「Let’s head back, then.」
「Yeah, let’s go—」
『If it isn’t Hikaru! Fancy seeing you here!』
Hikaru felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned around to see a familiar face.
『Long time no see.』
『Oh, it’s just you, Selica.』Hikaru said.
『Is that how you greet a business partner?』
There were a few Pond Hotdog stores in Ville Zentra as well. Every time
Lavia spotted one, she’d be drawn to it like moth to a flame. As always ten
percent of sales were from the extremely spicy ones.

「Hey, look!」
「The Four Stars of the East?! This is my first time seeing them!」
「Why are they talking to that kid?」
「Maybe they’re asking for directions.」
「I haven’t heard of the language before, though.」
Selyse was standing behind Selica, wearing a radiant smile. What went on
inside her mind, however, was a mystery. Sarah seemed careless, yet she
watched her surroundings warily. Sophie gazed at Hikaru with cold eyes,
and cast glances as warm as the sun at Paula.
Speaking in Japanese drew attention from the people.
「It’s cold out here. How about we talk inside?」Selyse said, pointing at
the Adventurers Guild.
News of the Four Stars arriving had already spread. Adventurers streamed
from the building, trying to catch a glimpse of the ladies.
「I humbly decline the offer.」Hikaru said.
「Come on, now. You have business with the guild, right?」Selyse insisted,
still wearing the same bright smile.
「No, I just happened to pass by.」
「It looked like you were at a loss because the guild was crowded.」
「A lady trusted by the Church’s top brass stealing glances? I’m
appalled.」
「We’ll go in with you and ask them to get whatever you want done
quick.」
Man, she’s a pain in the ass! Hikaru thought about turning her down once
more.
「What’s with that brat? He’s turning her down.」
「Who is he?」
「Let me look him up.」
Hikaru was beginning to leave an impression on the adventurers.
「Wanna go inside? Uh, I believe your name was…」
Selyse placed her index finger on her chin, pretending to recall Hikaru’s
name, as if threatening to disclose it. When Hikaru opened King Allegro’s
Treasure Chest, he specifically requested for his face to not be revealed. He
couldn’t do anything about the name, however. It would be terrible if people
found out that the name of the black-haired boy was Hikaru.
「Okay. I just want to confirm if the purchase commission I put up was
accepted. It shouldn’t take long.」Hikaru deliberately emphasized his
intentions. He wanted everyone to know that he wasn’t an adventurer.
Selyse’s eyes widened, not expecting his answer.「Let’s head inside,
then.」
Better end this quick, Hikaru thought as he started walking.
Selica hurried to his side.『By the way, we’re getting good profit from the
business. I was thinking of depositing the money to your account.』
『I wish you told me that sooner.』
Hikaru became flat broke after spending his every last cent for the people of
Dream Maker. He was lucky to find about King Allegro’s Treasure Chest. If
it weren’t for that, they would be suffering right about now.
『Did something happen?』she asked.
『Nah, it’s fine. How many stores have you opened anyway?』
『We’re almost at the hundred mark.』
『That’s a lot more than I expected. You have good business sense.』

『That’s right! I’ll have you know, my dad is an entrepreneur. I’ve heard a
lot of things related to his job, and I always wanted to try my hand at
something interesting. Unfortunately, I couldn’t achieve that back in Japan.
I really wanted to get my friend Hazuki on it too.』
Hikaru suddenly stopped.
『What’s wrong, young man?』
『Wh-What did you just say?』
『You mean my dad? He’s a cool—』
『Not that!』Hikaru drew close to Selica and grabbed her shoulders.
『Wh-What’s gotten into you?』
『Is Hazuki a family name?』
Hikaru’s heart was racing. He never thought he’d hear that name now.
Life will be rough for you. You may be clever, but you’re also reckless.
Someday, somewhere, you might just die unexpectedly.
If he had any lingering attachment to his previous life, it would be her.
Hikaru had not seen her after graduation, but her silhouette stayed in a
corner of his mind, emitting a dim light.
『Y-Yeah… Did I not tell you about my best friend before? We’ve known
each other since I started high school. Her full name is—』
Hikaru was speechless. No doubt about it. Her friend was Hazuki-senpai.
