Sensitive Period

A period of special sensibility and psychical attitudes.

A passion and a commitment.

A guide towards creative activities.

A transitory state; once realized, the sensitive period disappears.

Never relived or regained.

Child development
The environment must be rich in motives which lend interest to activity
and invite the child to conduct his own experiences.
Teacher or Guide
In a Montessori classroom, teachers play a unique but important role. We refer to
our teachers as guides because they do more than just teach. Montessori guides do
not stand at the front of the classroom reciting facts to the entire group of students.
