Should Government Ban All Industrial Activities
Should Government Ban All Industrial Activities
Should Government Ban All Industrial Activities
Do you know the impact behind the things that you consume? By buying a
single blouse you’re not destroying ecosystems, but let’s think about the
industry that manufactured the garment. The principal actor that leads to
global warming is CO2, and the largest source of emissions are industries,
both oil and fashion are involved in pollution; anyway, that doesn’t mean we
must stop industry activities, because they improve the country’s economy
and they represent a huge source of employment, I propose the application
of alternatives such as circular economy, which involves reusing existing
materials as long as possible. In this way, the more existing products we
recycle, the less destruction we generate.
On the face of it, industry just brings benefits for the development of
countries, and likewise, of the world, but it’s a reality that to produce goods
and services involves bad consequences for the environment, indeed, this
sector brings pollution, garbage accumulation and greenhouse gasses. To
back up my claims I bring to the conversation the declarations of the UN,
since the last year the planet affronts climate change, pollution and loss of
biodiversity, also emphasizing that “It is time to rethink our relationship with
nature” UN; so, to face up this situation, let’s talk about circular economy, an
alternative that allows a balance between industry and nature. This model of
production and consumption involves the exploitation of existing products,
neither waste nor pollution are produced; countries as UK, Denmark and
Portugal apply circular economy for waste management and for the
development of business models, always proving that its application brings
positive results to the environment and the economy.
I think people make light of contamination because they don't live the
destruction, but the matter here is that that now you know what’s behind
the surface, so, we can return to the question that bring us here; we cannot
stop industrial activities, because it gives us quality of life, there’s plenty of
alternatives (as well as circular economy) that help us reducing the impact of
this sector. The point is that, both the economy and nature can’t be ignored,
we must begin to use our rational potential by helping the earth with our
actions; to put it in another way, “The only solution to pollution is a people’s
humane revolution!” Bobby Seale.
