BALETE TREE
(CANLAON CITY)

Balete tree or also called as “Wonder Tree”

Stands as the oldest tree in the country. It has
been around even from the time when
Magellan first set foot in our beautiful country,
and the locals preserve this sacred and historic
tree. Usually this kind of species of tree live
around 600+ years old and 60 meters(200 ft)
tall with its roots about 10 meters(33 ft) to 15
meters (49 ft) in diameter.
I saw dry leaves on the ground and some leaves
falls down from the tree, it was like raining dry
leaves. Upon exploring it, I saw different
species of lizards, birds and insects that
indicates that the tree is healthy. The roots of
tree are big that indicates that the tree is
strong. And I saw different trees there that
indicates that there are many animals live
there especially birds.
This kind of biome must be preserve by our
generation, and must be taken care so that the
future generation can see it

 KINAYAN WATERFALL
(KINAYAN, GUIHULNGAN CITY, NEGROS ORIENTAL)

Kinayan waterfall is under in river and stream biome. The natural formation of
the scenery gives the animals a place to hide and live.
While exploring the biome, I saw different species of animals especially birds and
also insects like, dragonfly and spiders. On our way to the waterfall, we saw
different species of spiders that indicates that the biome is healthy and abundant
on different species of insects and animals. We saw different species of plant and
trees that birds and insect usually hides and live.
The biome was so beautiful that we must keep and preserve, not only for the
tourism but in our future.
