ONLINE LIBRARY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM ABSTRACT

Library Management System is a web-based application, that allows maintaining books information, student information, staff information issues and returns of books by the librarian. It also has the facility to submit a request for book to the librarian by the student/staff member. The librarian can take into account, these requests as a waiting list for issuing the book. The system also allows the librarian to intimate about the availability of the book or request for returning books to staff or student by mail. When new books are bought into library the librarian will add all the books information to the system. The system will assign a unique identification number based on the type of the book (i.e., Textbook, magazine etc.,) and the course to which it related (i.e., MCA, MBA etc.,). The system will maintain the inventory of the available books. When a new student enters the library, librarian will register that student after computing the require manual formalities. Basically a student is allowed to take only 3 books. The librarian will have the privilege to allow the student to take extra books. The system will intimate the librarian about the total number of books already issued to the student. When a new staff member enters the library, librarian will register that staff member. The staff member is allowed to take five books only. Totally the system will have two types of users. One is librarian who will act as an admin another user type of users can be either staff or student. The staff or student are allowed to list the total number of books exists in their account, check the availability of a book in library, submit request for a book.

Finally the system will have reports features, that will generate lists for total books information issued books, issued books by date , issued books between two dates and issued books by staff member or student.
