Use Terminal

After each selection click on
set. At the end, click on Save &
then exit by clicking on the ‘X’
button on top RHS corner.

Get the IO blocks by using this procedure.


Alternately, we can add then manually this way

Insert Worksheets either by


pressing “ins” key on
keyboard or via the edit
option

In this manner insert all the work sheets or


make a single worksheet. It is advisable to
make separate work sheets as this help us during trouble shooting.

After addition of work sheets the structure will look like this.

Double click on any work sheet where you want to insert the function blocks. Click
on the open WS

press “F” key

Define the variables for different inputs (Left side) & various outputs (Right side). If
an input is not used then use a variable “FALSE”.

If you wish to see the names of the


signals in the service report, then write
the names here, by selecting the I/P or
O/P signal & pressing the key “P”

In this way, insert all the I/Os as well as all the function blocks. Interconnect the
various functional blocks with the help of the Technical reference manual & the
Application manual. Use the standard connection diagrams to understand how the
various function blocks are interconnected.

Once this is complete, then we have to compile the program & do a version update.

After this do update version, click yes to proceed.

After this download the configuration to the relay.

If the CAP 531 program is terminated abruptly, & if one tries to enter into terminal
configuration once again, the following message will be displayed.

With Windows Explorer go to the mentioned directory & delete the mentioned *.pwt
file.

To add new users :

One can Compress a terminal also. This is done in the following way

Note that the file extension now is *.tml & not *.prj

In a similar manner, one can decompress a Terminal.

If the range of settings is less (i.e. suitable for rating of 5A, then do the following)

Select 5 & then 1 again then click ok.


Now the range will be for 1A (i.e. the maximum range).

You can clear the led from HMI or you have option through CAP 540:
- Right click at relay type.
- Disturbance handling.
- Clear led.
