Prospects and challenges of digital technology in taking ABM

strand in Brokenshire College during covid 19 pandemic.

Background of the study:


In the wake of corona virus pandemic ( COVID 19), government mandate social distancing that led to
the transition from traditional face to face based lectures to online based learning. The education of the
students is being affected due to the pandemic. The Department of Education strived for an efficient
way to bring learnings to the students even without the Traditional face-to-face class. However,
accepting that learning does not only forego in the formal Learning arenas, it is proposed that mobile
technology can be used as a bridge between the formal and Informal learning arenas. And because of it
the DepEd proposed an alternative way of bringing Knowledge and learnings to student by
implementing the online distance learning (ODL) whereby classes Performed in an online platform.
While most of the studies focused on the teaching strategies,Effectiveness of modular distance learning,
research guide in the new normal (Andres, Discutido, & Martos, 2020; Caezar & Parungao, 2020; Robles
& Miranda, 2020), no study has explored the challenges, Issues, and possible opportunities transpired
among ODL students. In light of the discussion on the Technology as a socially embedded medium, the
possible challenges and opportunities that it poses as Medium to education.
