suggest doing sth: gợi ý, đề xuất làm gì (khi cả người nói và người nghe cùng tham gia)
Eg: “Let’s go to the cinema tonight.”
“What about/ How about……….”-> She suggested going to the cinema that night.
“Why don’t we …..”
NOTE: suggest that S + Vo/ should Vo (đề xuất ai làm gì – không bao gồm người nói tham gia)
Suggest + sở hữu + Ving (sở hữu là ám chỉ người đc đề xuất làm)
Eg: “Why don’t you stay home tonight, Mary?” -> Lan suggested that Mary should stay home that night.
-> Lan suggested Mary’s staying home that night. (Mary’s => sở hữu
cách)
