The Philippine Association of Marine Science (PAMS) conducted a webinar

entitled “Jellyfish Science and Issues in the Philippines” that designed to share
knowledge about the jellyfish characteristics from past studies and implications of its
findings in order to create awareness regarding to safety and also to the advantages
of the species of jelly fish.

Jellyfish are commonly known by their powerful stings on their tentacles. It

was known to be their asset to protect themselves by potential predator and it is
their way to adapt in harsh environment. However, it is not just attacking predators
but also common people it is a viral news how harmful this stings are and sometimes
their existence are being misunderstood the webinar supplemented a lot of
realization about the jellyfish it gave a depth of understanding how to cope to save a
person from being stung and be knowledgeable to other benefits of the presence of
their species like their part on the ecosystems and value in tourism. They attract
more people because of its beautiful colors and wonderful shapes and tentacles
however the management who supervise this kind of attraction should be very
careful and responsible .

The significance of the webinar is so much timely and fulfilling it was full of
important information from successful people and the presentation is all trusted
because I observed that even the figure and photographs were having proper
citation to the owner.maybe the only lacking on this presentation is time. Truly, this
kind of topic nourishes new and supplementary understanding to unfold better
concept of interpretation to life of jelly fish.
