Vietnam’s Green Summer Campaign, which gathers thousands of youths to do charity works around the
country in the summer, inspired a group of U.S. students to popularize the idea to the world.
A group of North Carolina and Duke University students together with local students recorded all the
activities and have created a website about Vietnam’s 12-year youth volunteer campaign to show to the

The filmmakers made a plan to produce a 20-minute film clip about the volunteer campaign.

campaign. We want to witness and popularize the campaign to other friends and youths with live video
clips,” said Jordan Kyle from Duke University.
The filmmakers also visited the East Bus Station in Binh Thanh district to record volunteers guiding
thousands of students arriving in Ho Chi Minh City from other provinces for their upcoming entrance
university exams. The youths helped students find places to stay and get around the city. “Unlike in
Vietnam, similar programs in the U.S are run by specialized organizations. We were really surprised to
learn that Vietnamese students established the program and ran it by themselves,” said the group. “I’m
honored to join the Green Summer Campaign and put on the volunteer’s uniform. I really love it.”, said
Carly from Duke University.

The culture of Vietnam is one of the oldest in the Southeast Asia region. Although Vietnam lies
geographically in Southeast Asia, long periods of Chinese domination and influence has resulted in the
emergence of many East Asian characteristics in Vietnamese culture, and generally Vietnam is said to be
a part of the East Asian cultural sphere, known widely as Chinese cultural sphere.

Traditions and Customs in Great Britain

Every nation and every country has its own customs and traditions. In Britain traditions play a more
important part in the life of the people than in other countries. Englishmen are proud of their traditions

If parents bring up a child with the aim of turning the child into a genius, they will cause great
