RAJIV GANDHI UNIVERSITY RONO HILLS, DOIMUKH No. ET/NOT-CIR-22/2016 3 June, 2022 CIRCULAR As per the ‘Public Notice’ issued by the UGC, New Delhi vide No. F.1- 1/2018{Journal/CARE) dated 16" September 2019 and consequent upon the decision taken in the ‘Deans Meeting’ held on 31* May, 2022 under Point No. 20, and also keeping in view the decision taken by the two (2) Central Universities in ‘the NE Region, it has been resolved/decided, as under: 7 ‘Only the UGC-CARE List Journals will be taken into account. For example, if the research paper is published in the year when the journal is In UGC CARE-LIST, it will be considered in spite of the fact that the concerned Journal is not now in UGC-CARE List. Similarly, if the article is published in the Journal in the year when. it is not in UGC CARE-LIST, it will not be considered even if the Journal is now in UGC-CARE List. a Even the article is published In Scopus or Web of Science but if it is not in UGC CARE-LIST, it will not be considered. The Vice Chancellors, Selection Committees, Screening Committees, research supervisors and all/any expert(s) involved in academic/ performance evaluation and assessment are hereby advised to ensure that their decisions in the case of selections, promotions, credit-allotment, award of research degrees etc. must be based on the quality of published work rather than just numbers or a mere presence in peer reviewed or in old UGC Approved List of Journals which is available for reference on the UGC website. ole (P.K.
