SHORT DESCRIPTION
The interface UNS 0862 allows the measurement of the machine voltage and machine
current within the UNITROL-F excitation system.
In order to measure the actual voltage value, the 3-phase machine voltage is galvanically
isolated by means of transformers in V-connection and adapted to electronics level.
By a single phase actual measurement, the machine voltage must be connected to
terminals 2-3.
The single-phase current is also measured by means of transformers for galvanical
isolation and adaptation to electronics level.
On the secondary side, a variable load is present which transforms the current signal into
a proportional voltage.
The signals generated in this way are fed parallel to the two connectors X11 and X12.
Spring-clamp terminals are provided on the input side.
A flat cable is used for the connection to the I/O interface UNS 0863.

2.2 Signal Connections

4 mm2 double spring-clamp terminals type WAGO 228 533 are used for the input connections for
machine voltage and machine current.
Two conductors (wire or strand) may be connected per terminal.

3. CONFIGURATION
3.1 Load for Current Measurement
In the basic configuration, a load resistor of 330 Ohms is used for measuring the current. This
together with the parallel permanently-installed 3k3 resistor, produces a total load of 300 Ohms.
The load resistor, which can be soldered in place, must conform to the standard XN 400323.

3.2 Flat Cable Connections

Only the 10-pin flat cable in accordance with HIEE 405185 P1 is to be used for connection to the
device UNS 0863.
The flat cable is included with the delivery.
Depending on the application, it is plugged into X11 or X12 (see 6.5).

4. COMMISSIONING AND FUNCTION CHECK

For a primary nominal voltage of 110 Veff, the secondary voltage is 5 Veff.
For a primary nominal current of 1 or 5 Aeff, the load voltage is 3 Veff.
(applies to the basic configuration)
The output signals are fed to test points.
The test points are arranged in such a way that a 10-pin flat cable plug (female) in accordance with
HIEE 401363 P1 can be plugged in.
The plug, in accordance with HET 400060 P3, is to be used for individual connections.
High-resistance instruments are to be used for measurement.
