PHILIPPINE LEGISLATION:
Organizations that are dedicated to equality and inclusion must take action.
Additionally, they need to take action to make diversity a priority both before and after
hiring. Anyone with management or supervisory responsibility should pay close attention
to recruiting and performance-rewarding procedures, make sure to rely on appropriate
facts when making judgments, and avoid using racial stereotypes as a basis for those
decisions.
INTRODUCTION
Pavlou (2022) defines diversity as the variety of different characteristics in a group of
people. It could make us unique, such as our skills and personality traits, along with the
things that shape our identity. Workplace diversity has protected characteristics such as
race, age, gender, and sexual orientation, and every individual has a different experience,
talents, skills, opinions, and personality. These differences require the organization's
effort and reactiveness to shine.
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVES:
Diversity and inclusion aim to promote and practice equality within the
organization. Equitable employers outpace their competitors by respecting their team
members' uniqueness, perspectives, and potential. Therefore, diverse and inclusive
workplaces earn deeper trust and commitment from their employees (Bush, 2021).
BODY:
Equity, which means to treat everyone equally regardless of ethnicity or culture, is
a positive concept in diversity that we should work to achieve in order to maintain order.
Since it forms the foundation of diversity, equity is crucial and needs to be addressed
more frequently. Without Equity, Diversity would lack structure for other things and
would lack mutual respect. Discrimination is the opposite of diversity. Unfair treatment
of someone based on their culture or race is known as discrimination. It is wrong to
discriminate against those who may be different from you. Someone shouldn't insult
someone just because they practice a different religion or hold a different belief than they
do.
