Title : Obesity ,cause,factor and prevention

Assalamualaikum w.r.t..and a very good morning to the honourable


judges,teachers,and my fellow friends.

I welcome everyone at the speech of today on the subject of obesity,cause,factor


and prevention.Believe it or not, obesity has become a major cause of serious health
conditions and anxiety among the children these days. Obesity is thus a growing
health issue not only in our country, but also at the world level.

Ladies and gentleman,

First of all, I would like to know what is your opinion about an obese
person.Perhaps,someone who is overweight,more than the actual size of his body.
However, to put it in precise terms,obesity is described as a condition in which body
weight increases due to excessive amount of fat stored in our body. Obesity is
measured and defined in terms of body mass index (BMI). Body mass index is the
numerical method of setting the appropriate weight limit according to the height of a
person. The Body Mass Index over 30kg indicates obesity.

The effects of obesity cannot be ignored because obese people, mainly children are
compromising with their health and results in diabetes, heart disease, cancer
disease and arthritis. The condition of obesity also increases the risk of
psychological problems, such as eating disorders ,low self esteem,anxiety and
depression.

There is no such symptoms of illness except the body's growing weight. Usually
shortness of breath, fatigue, excess sweating, are the major complaints of the
patient.

Ladies and gentleman,

What are the factors contribute to obesity?Obesity occurs mainly when calorie intake
exceeds the dissolved calories. In simple words, when someone wishes to eat more
than his body needs, then additional fat starts accumulating in body tissues giving
birth to obesity.With the availability of fast food and high calorie food in modern
times, which contains a lot of sugar, salt, fat and when combined with our laid down
lifestyle, irreparable damage in our body will occur.

It is same as drinking sugary beverages.Sipping fruit juice or sugary soda has been
strongly linked to obesity. Liquid calories don't fill you up as much as food, so you
end up eating more to satisfy your hunger.

Another main cause of obesity is environmental factors. In the modern world,


technology has really come a long way. So children are relying more on technology
to keep them entertained. This can be harmful to their health. Children today are
spending a lot of time interacting with technology than they should. These sedentary
behaviors include video games, television, movies, and internet. Watching television
and playing video games, disturbs the energy balance in a person,decreases the
energy expenditure, reduces resting metabolic rate, and increases energy intake.
This allows the food to sit and turn to fat, increasing the chances of obesity.

Ladies and gentleman

Obesity can be managed by eating healthy food to create a healthy body .There is
no need to change the amount of food, but the quality of food should be checked
and improved. Avoiding excess fat in the form of red meat, oily food,ghee, butter,
can dramatically help to lose weight.

Physical activity has a major impact on body composition and metabolism making it
a key treatment and prevention of obesity. It increases energy expenditure maintains
lean body mass, and increases mobilization as well as burning body fat. Activities
such as walking, jumping, and weight lifting help bone development as well. And if
physical labor is done with proper eating, then it becomes the right way to lose
weight and stay healthy.

More time spent sitting in front of a screen means less time for physical activity and
good sleep. Exercise and sleep play a role in a healthy weight, so, it’s important to
encourage those activities over computer or TV time.

A fit body and healthy brain only can have strong foundations and can work better
tomorrow.Maintaining a healthy lifestyle and monitoring our eating habits, the
problem of obesity can be overcome. Apart from this, combining it with a little
exercise, then, it can do wonders for our body.Prevention is better than cure.An
apple a day,keep the doctor away.

Well then, I arrived at the end of my speech, and thus I would like to thank all of you
