MARKING ENGLISH There are two scenarios you can end up with after

Scenario 1—No mistakes were made. To indicate

GRADING

If there are NO mistakes then circle the

page. Write 100 in the top right-hand corner of
side a to indicate that all questions are correct
on side a & b.

Tick the question number if the answer is

wrong. Each tick has a value of 5 points, unless
otherwise specified on the worksheets eg Levels
2A-EII.
Place a triangle around the question number if
your child has spelt a word wrong, left a word out
or forgotten a capital letter or full stop for
example. Each triangle has a value of 1 point.
NO MISTAKES FIRST TIME
Scenario 2—Mistakes were made. To indicate that
mistakes were made first time through and they are
now all correct write a 100% outside the circle on the
front page OR in the top left hand corner of the front
page as shown below. A regular comment of
encouragement is always appreciated too.

Add the marks up on both sides a and b and

then deduct that total from 100 to give a score
for that page. Write this score with a downward
arrow below in the top right-hand corner of side
a. Continue this for every page.

IF YOUR CHILD IS SELF-MARKING PLEASE EN-

SURE THEY CLOSE THE ANSWER BOOK TO FIX
THEIR MISTAKES.

When corrections are done re-check the

answers to ensure each answer is now correct
and if so then circle the tick/triangle and write
100 below the arrow on side a. This page is now MISTAKES FIRST TIME
