Unique opportunity to buy a B2B magazine

The current owners of a successful 40-year old B2B retail magazine wish to retire and are looking for an energetic and experienced
editor and advertising boffin to take over the publication, which is currently the only one to serve this specific market segment.
Sales possibilities and terms to be discussed.
The owners are a journalist and businessman who bought the publication 22 years ago and took on their daughter as partner about
ten years ago. Previously assistants at various levels were employed as well as freelance contributors.
The business has been expanded to include two directories, a blog, website, online newsletter(s), Facebook page and Twitter feed
and several growth areas/opportunities have been identified.
Despite only relying on advertising income, the company has remained profitable, even in the present economy.
The current owners are based in Cape Town, thus editor should also ideally be based there during the initial stages, advertising
sales should ideally be based in Gauteng - but it is possible to operate from any location.

Requirements

Entrepreneurs who wish to run their own business

Self-motivators with a drive to make the business succeed
Can work under deadline pressure
Comfortable to engage with industry leaders - retailers and suppliers
Must be able to work together under stress

More specifically:

Editor:

Plan editorial content that is relevant and interesting to readers

Liaise with industry leaders to generate editorial leads
Good writing and copy editing skills
Blogging and social media skills
Layout expertise ideal (the current publishers do everything themselves).

Advertising salesperson:

Ability to sell advertising in a competitive market

Develop relationships with young and old, small and big, advertisers
Willingness to visit suppliers/advertisers countrywide
