DEBUT PARTY SCRIPT

1. SETTING OF GUESTS ON THEIR SEATS

Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen. May I have your attention please? We are about to
begin Trisha’s 18th Birthday Celebration so please find your seats or table numbers and
make yourselves comfortable and enjoy the rest of the evening.

2. INTRODUCTION AND WELCOME ADDRESS

Once again, good evening to all of us. Welcome to a night of pastel colors in celebration
of a wonderful life for a girl who is now turning into a fine lady. The HOTTEST and
LEGAL PARTY of Trisha. This is quite a very important event in her life and she is
very much honor for your presence. Like Wendy in the movie Peter Pan, no more fairy
tale stories every night. She is now a real lady as she stepped onto the much higher level
of what we call LIFE. Ladies and gentlemen, sit back as we groove, jive and enjoy her
party for tonight…

3. INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS

But before we go on, we would like to thank everyone for gracing this very momentous
occasion because as they say, you only get to be 18 once.

As a jumpstart, we would like to acknowledge the key persons who took a great part in
making this blissful affair possible. Ladies and Gentlemen, it is with great pleasure that I
introduce to you the Parents of our lovely debutante no other than, Mr Fredolin Matute
and Mrs Charilyn Matute and of course the whole family of the debutante as well.. A
warm round of applause please. Thank you!

Without them, her life would be empty and unhappy. Let us all give a big round of
applause to honor all the people whom she truly loved. “Sabi nga, marami tayong
mahahanap na kapuso, pero iisa lang ang ating kapamilya.”

4. AVP( If the family provided an audio-visual presentation )

But before we proceed to one of the highlights of this program, I believe that some of us
have been fortunate enough to see Trisha grow and blossom into a beautiful lady, but for
others, here is a sneak peak of her 18 years of existence in one very short AVP. Roll
VTR, please!
5. GRAND ENTRANCE

Tonight calls for a grand celebration and it is our distinct pleasure to introduce to you for
the very first time, the reason why we are all gathered here tonight. And now…. Guests
and friends, let us all stand as we welcome the main highlight of this celebration, and
stepped into a higher level of life, ladies and gentlemen, our debutant as a woman of
grandeur, now hot and legal, …. Let’s give a big round of applause to Ms Trisha
Matute.
….escorted by Mr Joebert Cedric Baclig.

6. AFTER THE ENTRANCE:

Wow, blooming and lovely, indeed! Saan nga ba siya nagmana? Kay mommy ba or kay
daddy? Or baka both?
Evidently, before tonight, Trisha has had happy years in a very happy home. The love of
a family will always be God’s greatest blessing. Sabi nga nila, in life we can have several
friends, classmates, and social circles, but there is only one family who is always willing
and ready to welcome us no matter what. Ladies and gentlemen, to answer the question
kung saan nga ba nagmana si Trisha, here’s Daddy Fredolin Matute to welcome all of
us to their lovely daughter’s 18th birthday party.
(Ask everyone to sit down after)

I am Russel Paganao and I had been given the task by the debutant, herself, to be your emcee
for tonight. We thank you all for gracing this joyful occasion especially to those who have
travelled many miles just to be with us. In behalf of Trisha, and her parents, I would like to
express her heartfelt gratitude for your presence at this memorable occasion. It is indeed a
pleasure to have you all tonight.

Who is Trisha in the real sense of word? Of course aside from being a kind and

8. SYMBOLIC LIGHTING OF CANDLE BY THE MOTHER

Because birthdays are always new beginnings, new endeavors with new set of goals,
sending birthday messages and wishes are traditions especially in our country, where we
give high value to family ties and relationship. Tonight, ladies and gentlemen, I present to
you these 18 Wishers for our debutant. These are the people close to the heart of our
celebrant, and whom she listens and confides to for inspiring words and friendly advices.
Starting off with the woman dearest to Trisha’s heart, representing the mother candle that
will be a source of light for all the well-wishers for our dear Trisha, here’s mommy
Charilyn Matute. Let us give her a warm round of applause.

The 18 candles signify the 18 women that will be her guiding light in her journey towards
fulfilling her dreams. (PAUSE, UNTIL THE 18 CANDLES ARE COMPLETE)

Many ancient cultures believed that smoke carried their prayers to the heavens. So, at the
count of three, Mommy Charilyn and members of the 18 wishers, let’s say “May all our
wishes come true” and blow our candles together. 1, 2 and 3.

9. DEBUTANT’S OWN WISH ON HER CANDLE

Let me share another good-to-know trivia to everyone on how birthday cakes and candles
came about as a tradition during birthdays. Some believe that tradition of birthday
candles began in Ancient Greece. Putting candles on a cake was a special way to pay
tribute to the greek moon goddess, Artemis. They baked round cakes to symbolize the
moon. Candles were added to represent the reflected moonlight. Today’s tradition of
making wishes before blowing out the birthday candles may have started with that belief.
Enough of all those did-you-know trivia because at this part of the program, our lovely
and stunning Trisha will blow the candles on her birthday cake. And to complete that
customary practice, let us all sing joyfully a song I am very sure everybody is familiar
with, the happy birthday song!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU… HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU………

10. CUTTING THE CAKE

It is now time to cut the cake. As Trisha has reached the age of maturity, she will now
cut the cake and give a portion to her parents as a symbol of her love and gratefulness to
them.

11. 18 TREASURES

Gifts symbolize ever flowing love, caring and admiration. And to represent Trisha’s
Circle of Important People of her Life, let us welcome the following persons who will
share their wishes and offer a gift which symbolizes friendship which binds two persons
together. Of course these people will be the ones who will give her advices and kind
words along the way on how to become a perfect woman.

12. BLUE BILLS

These people represent as a guiding light of the debutant and as sign of wealth and
wisdom. 18 people will actually give 18 bills. After giving the message, they will give the
blue bill….. Let’s start with _______________________.

13. INVOCATION

Thank you for patiently waiting! I know everyone is hungry, so at this moment, I’d like
to request everybody to please stand for gracing the sumptuous food prepared by the
family. To be led by Mrs Jonalyn Raciles .

14. DINNER

To fill the room/space with music while we are having our dinner, may I request
the_________ to play music. Thank you!

After the dinner, the family would like to request everybody to please remain for a while
for the continuation of the program. Thank you!

(AFTER DINNER)
15. A MIRROR TO TRISHA’S LIFE

A mirror is merely a reflection for ourselves. For us to know more about Trisha, may I
request Ms Florence Savellano to please do the honor, ma’am!

16. GERBERAS/BACHELORS

Like a pretty flower that attracts bees and butterflies, Trisha will be surrounded by 18
equally handsome gentlemen who will represent the debutant’s 18 roses. These flowers
equate the traditional 18 roses during debuts and it symbolizes love. Without further ado,
because I know this is the moment that the guys are waiting for. A chance to hold the
hand of our lovely debutante for a short dance.. and maybe a kiss.. so let us not keep them
waiting. Ladies and Gentlemen, the 18 roses with our beautiful debutant! Starting off
wit:_____________

The last dance is of course reserved to the forever most handsome and most loving guy in
her life. To dance with our debutant, ladies and gentlemen, Daddy Fredolin.

FATHER AND DAUGHTER DANCE (DURING THE DANCE)

The father and the daughter dance is probably one of the most loved traditions in any
Filipino debut celebration. This signifies the daughter’s first step to womanhood and the
father’s acceptance of this period in his daughter’s life.

17. 18 BALLOONS

Going back to childhood, whenever we hold a balloon and try to let go off, we tend to cry
hard just because we let things go but on the other side we let it fly to reach its highest
peak. A simple explanation is that FREEDOM is another way of setting up and reaching
goals.

(ONE PIECE OF SONG TO BE PLAYED BY THE COMBO/BAND)

18. SWEETS

In life, it will never be happy if you will not add spices on it. We always have insecurities
but it’s not about being healthy and happy with ourselves. But friendship is the breathing
rose, with sweets in every fold. There is only one difference between a long life and a
good dinner; that, in the dinner, the sweets come last. To make this event sweeter and
delightful, may I request the following persons who will take part in molding Trisha.
19. INTERMISSION NUMBER OF 18 BALLOONS (BOOM BOOM)

20. MESSAGE OF THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS

They say, memories are ways to hold on to the things that we love, and to the things that
we don’t want to lose. Sabi nga ni Mareng Cynthia Ozick: “What we remember from
childhood, we remember forever.” Tonight we have 18 selected people who will share
with us her unforgettable memory with our lovely debutant. Trisha. Are you ready for
the bukingan time?

21. SPEECH OF THE DEBUTANT

Tonight’s celebration tells me that the best demonstration of gratitude in response to a

wonderful experience like this one can be contained in an overwhelming thank you. And
if there’s one person here tonight who is more than grateful to see all of you, that would
be our beloved celebrant, Trisha. I am giving the floor to our dear debutant to give her
message for all of us.

CLOSING REMARKS:

The night is young, and so are we. We have just actually started. Again, thank you
for having me here to celebrate with all of you. May I also take this opportunity to thank
you all for coming and joining us tonight’s affair. It is indeed a great experience for
Trisha and her family as well. Enjoy the rest of the night everyone! Gracias!
