Conflict with co-worker (Listen to others, understand their issue,

and find a solution)

Last semester I had a group project with three other people and I wanted to take that part of the
project which I could handle the most but one of my collegue really wanted that part as well and he
didn’t want to negotiate at first.

So, my first initiative was like why he wanted to take that part particularly

and because I asked I found that he was scared to underperform if he was assigned another part of
the project because he didn’t really under the material

and at the end we negotiated and we ended up working together a particular part and I really helped
him in other areas of the project so that he would get more comfortable in future.

Why did you leave your previous job? (motivation behind your move,
positivity, more of technique)
I feel I learned all the technical parts of the project. I learned how to code,
how to communicate efficiently with clients, how to organize my work to
meet deadline and now I feel like it’s the right time and I am ready to take on
more responsibilities and more of a leader in project
Tell me about yourself (who you are?, what are you doing?, why a new job?
University? Field of study, results) (show your qualities, get to know who I
am)
So I chose to study chemical engineering after I saw how technology
positively changed our lives and runs businesses. I/m drawn to complex
subjects I don’t understand. For example, I recently learned how to code in
python just to know how database worked. That’s what led me to an exciting
opporrunities as an internship in a local business near my house, where I
developed customer database to help them take better decision. Now that I
graduated I want to further develop those skills, those IT skills, by working
with fortune 500 companies to understand how to make them more valuable
Why should we hire you? (Key skills, job posting) (done your research, skill
this company wants, showed your motivation)
I have notice base on my research on linkedin that successful employees in
your organization are leaders. In university, I often had to lead all the
projects I was involved in. and I has to lead teams from 3-5 people usually,
and I guided the conversations towards a good planning, and divided the task
based on the strength of the team. I learned how to listen carefully to
teammates and it really helped me resolve issues very fast when it occurred.
I look forward to leading projects and initiatives in your organization as I see
myself grow on that path
Give us an understanding of the job you applied for (spot motivated candidates) (Study job
positing, what other employess are saying) (typical day, main responsibilities, potential
coworkers)

Tell me what you know about our company (do you stay updated), (market situation and new
release) (first you prove you actually read the news and that you studied how the news affected
the company. You even gave your opinion on the news and how it will benefit the company

I read last week that your company is investing 13 million dollar in a new HQ in new York city. And
I think it’s a great move, because it will help company x release products faster and target a wider
audience now that they have a presence in the east coast.

What do you do when you are not at work? (Fit with the company, potential good colleague, real
hobbies) (deep details about you good context, link with the company)

I am a huge sports fan, I play soccer with the team I personally built with some of those friends on
Friday evenings. And we registered our team in a local championship, and we are semifinals. I am
super excited for that. When I don’t play, I watch, and I haven’t missed a signle real Madrid game in
the last four years. That’s WHY I am planning to travel to Madrid next summer hopefully to watch
my favourite team play. I noticed on linkedin that your organization has the soccer team as well, so
I’d be super pumped to join it as well

Where do you see yourself in five years? (are you goal oriented, next step in your career) (current
responsibilities, goal in 5 years, career path)

First, I want to handle all the technical aspects of the project right now in the role I am applying
for. But in 5 years, I see myself leading those aspects. So handling a team, may be do a little bit of
project management, and be involved in sales process. I would love to pitch our services to
prospective clients and help them through the project along the line

Describe a situation where you were part of a failed project (do you own your mistakes? how do
you handle mistakes?, accountable, take ownsership, learning experience) (legit mistake,
acknowledge, what you did differently)

In my last job, I used to say yes to everything I was asked for. I guess I thought I just wanted to
become more valuable but I ended upto turning some projects late by one week because I had too
much in my plate. I learned to be more realistic in my deadlines and my workload saying yes only
to what I knew I could do within deadline, but also suggesting grea collegues and resources to help
in tasks I knew I couldn’t do alone.

What’s your greates weakness? (Are you working on your flaws, potential red flags?, skill based
weakness) (teachable skills, step on how you are improving)

Lately, I’ve been struggling with building persuasive ppt. I write too much text and I don’t include
too many visuals. That’s why I recently took an online course in Udemy to learn about storytelling
behind great presentations. I am learning the basics right now, but its starting to show in the next
I’m currently building. It would be a pleasure to show some of them to you
