The Simple Past X The Present Perfect
Simple Past :
We use de simple past to describe actions that happened In the past. It describe a finished
action whose time is mentioned.
yesterday:
last
ago
Affirmative Form
Subject + verb in the past + Complement
I went to the movie last night.
Negative Form:
Subject + did not ( didn't ) + verb (Infinitive without "TO") + Complement
I didn't go to school yesterday.
Interrogative Form:
Present Perfect:
We use it to describe:
Actions that happened in the past but the time wasn't mentioned. The action isn't determined.
Actions that started In the past and continue until the moment:
Lately Recently
Once Twice
Several times Many times
Just Always
Never ever
yet (used in the end of negative sentences and In interrogatives sentences)
Already (used In affirmative and interrogatives sentences)
