S: Were very fine maam, thank you.

T: As we all know, reading is one of the most important language skills, am i right?

S: Yes Maam.

T: Why do you think reading is important ?

S: Maam i think reading enables us to understand the world and gain knowledge about different things.

T: Exactly, and since this is important, it is also important for us to know our abilities, strengths and
weaknesses when it comes to reading. So today I will administer a self-reflection questionnaire. This
questionnaire will help us determine your attitudes towards reading. Are you ready?

S: Yes maam

(Distribute the questionnaire)

T: This questionnaire is composed of 3 sections and each section has different questions. Analyse each
question and answer each question with all honesty. Each questions will be answered through selecting
a particular rate from 1 to 4. Do not spend too much time pondering over each question. Answer each
question quickly. Do you understand?

S: Yes maam.

T: Ok you may begin.

(The test will now begin)

T: Are you all finished?

S: Yes maam.

T: Ok we will now check your paper. We will now analyze each section of the questionnaire . The first
score will indicate your previous experience in reading. The second score is your reading environment
and the third is your individual perception about the usefulness of reading. Are you ready to count your
scores?

S: Yes maam.

T: Ok, to calculate the scores add the section score and divide it by six. The average score will range from
one to four. Now calculate your score.

(Students will now calculate their score)

T: Are you finished?

S: Yes maam.

T: Very good . Now take a look at your average scores. Lower scores ( 1 and 2) suggest a positive attitude
to reading. Higher scores (3 and 4) suggest a more negative attitude. Now how many scores have you
got.
