Module 11

Activity 1

1. To be able to prepare ourselves for the changes taking place in our climate, it is essential to
study climate change. If we know about climate changes, we can adjust our daily activities , and
we can prepare for the future.

2. The Philippines is extremely vulnerable to climate change's effects, such as increasing sea levels,
increased frequency of extreme weather events, rising temperatures, and extreme rainfall.
Rising sea temperatures and ocean acidification caused by pollution are destroying the coral
reefs that surround the Philippines. As a result, fish will have less to eat and will either die or
migrate elsewhere. As a result, far fewer fish are caught, raising prices and leaving thousands
hungry. In addition to that the destruction caused by typhoons to rice crops and the Philippines'
burgeoning population, and you have a recipe for disaster.

3. I think energy crisis is the shortage in energy due to the unlimited use of it. Energy crisis is
caused by man made circumstances as usual. And it continues to be one of our planet's biggest
problems.

4. Yes, indeed. All of the above reasons are right. Some of them are caused by man-made
conditions, which is why I believe. Since we are the ones who are responsible for depleting
natural resources.
