MAIL MERGE

AIM: Write the step of Mail Merge using MS- WORD.


Introduction
Mail merge consists of combining mail and letters and pre-addressed
envelopes or mailing labels for mass mailing from letter. This feature is
usually employed in a word processing documents which contain fixed test
and variables.

Step Followed For Mail Merge


1. In a blank Microsoft Word document, click on the Mailing tab, and in the Start
Mail Merge group, click Start Mail Merge.

2. Click Step-by-Step Mail Merge Wizard.

3. Select your document type.

4. Select the starting document. In this demo we will use
the current (blank) document. Select Use the current
document and then click Next: Select recipients

we will create a new list, so
select Type a new list and then
click Create.

Students Result Sheet
AIM: To create students result sheet in Ms-excel.
PROCEDURE:

STEP: 1. first go to file menu and choose new sub menu and select work
sheet option and click ok.

STEP: 2. Enter the fields Reg No, students name, SUBJECT-FOM, BE, FA,
RMand CIS Total, Average, Minimum, Maximum.

STEP: 3. Enter the Register number, names, and marks.

STEP: 4. to find the total, Enter the Formula = sum (ex: C3:H3) this will
give the total at the marks.

STEP: 5. Enter the formula in the formula bar finding average. =average
(total/no of subjects)

STEP: 6. similarly we doing all MIN, MAX.

STEP: 7. In Last, We save the file. RESULT: Thus student mark sheet is
prepared, in Ms-excel using formula.

Macros
AIM:To Create Macros in a MS-WORD
A macro (which stands for "macroinstruction") is a programmable pattern which
translates a certain sequence of input into a preset sequence of output. Macros can
make tasks less repetitive by representing a complicated sequence of keystrokes,
mouse movements, commands, or other types of input.

Step to make macros


There are the following steps to record a macro in Microsoft.

Step 1: Open the new or an existing Word document.

Step 2: Click on the View tab on the Ribbon and click on the drop-down icon associated
with the Macros in the Macros section.

Step 3: Click on the Record Macro from the drop-down menu.

Step 4: A Record Macro dialog box will appear on the screen in which do the following -

1. Enter the Name for the macro in the Macro name text field.
2. To use the same macro for the further document, click on the All Documents
option from the Store macro in drop-down menu.
3. Click on the Button icon in the Assign macro to section to run your macro.

Step 5: A Word Options window will appear on the screen with highlighted Quick


Access Toolbar at the left pane.

1. Click on the new macro name on the left side of the screen.


2. Click on the Add button to add the macro on the Quick Access Toolbar at the right
side of the screen.
3. Click on the Modify button, as shown in the below screenshot.

Step 6: Select macro that you want to record from the Modify Button dialog box,
type the Display name, and click on the OK button.

Step 7: Click on the OK button at the Word options window.

Step 8: Now, click on the View tab and click on the Macros drop-down menu. Click on


the Stop Recording Macro from the drop-down menu.

Now, you can see that recorded macro will appear on the Quick Access Toolbar.

PowerPoint is a presentation program developed by
Microsoft. It is included in the standard Office suite along with Microsoft
Word and Excel. The software allows users to create anything from
basic slide shows to complex presentations.

MS-DOS
AIM:To study the internal and external command of MS-DOS.
MS-DOS, in full Microsoft Disk Operating System, the dominant
operating system for the personal computer (PC) throughout the 1980s.
The acquisition and marketing of MS-DOS were pivotal in
the Microsoft Corporation's transition to software industry giant.

Internal or External Commands.

Internal commands

● DATE– It shows the current Date.


● TIME – It shows the current time.
● CLS– It clears all the content.
● REN– It allows renaming the files or directories.
● VER– It shows the version of your device.
● COPY – It copy the files.
● MD– It Makes a new directories.
● RD– It Remove the directories.
● CD – It change the directories.
● EXIT– Exit form MS-DOS.

External command
● ATTRIB – It allows changing the attributes of a file.
● TREE-The tree command allows the user to view an easy-to-read list of files and
folders.
● EDIT-Edit, allows you toview,create, or modify any text file on your computer.
● MOVE- The move command allows users to transfer files or directories from one
directory to another or from one drive to another.
● SORT-The sort command is used filter input and then displays the results on a
computer monitor or writes them to a file.
● FIND- The find command allows you to search for text within a file.
● LABEL- The label command is used to view or change thelabel of a computer’s drive.
● TEXTCOPY-The copy command allows users to copy one more files to an alternate
location.
● FORMAT-The format command is used to erase information from a computer diskette
or fixed drive.

Step1: Go to MS- Dos


Step2: Type DATE
Step3: Then DATE is shown in your Front

2. TIME
Step1: go to MS- Dos
Step2: Type TIME
Step3: Then TIME is shown in your Front.

3. MD (MAKE DIRECTORY):

Step1: go to MS- Dos


Step2: Type md <name> then Enter
Step3: Then you have to see your directories, just write dir
Step4: And you can see your directory.

4. RD (REMOVE DIRECTORY):

Step1: go to MS- Dos


Step2: Type rd <name> then Enter
Step3: Then you see your directory is removed from here.

5. VER(VERSION)

Step1: Go to MS-Dos.
Step2: Now you want to check your device
version. Then you have to write VER on
dos. And then you have ENTER to see
yours device version.
Step3: After, Enter you can see your device
version.

6. EXIT

Step1: Go to MS-Dos.
Step2: Now you want to exit from MS-DOS, then
you have to write CLS on screen. And
then ENTER.
Step3: After Enter, you exit from MS-DOS.

7. CLS

Step1: Go to MS-DOS.
Step2.We want to delete the all the
content which we type in our
device, Now we type ‘cls’ on screen,
then all the activities which we
doing in command prompt is clear.

External Commands
1. ATTRIB
Step1. Go to MS-DOS.
Step2. You want to change a file`s
read/write attribute or set the
archive attribute. Just type
ATTRIB in your screen, and press
ENTER.
Step3. After press Enter you
can see your ATTRIB.

2. TREE
Step1. Go to MS-DOS.
Step2. The tree command typed
alone produce a listing and
overview of the current
directory.
Step3.The tree command allows
the user to view an easy-to
–easy read list of files and
folders.

3. EDIT
Step1. Go to MS-DOS.
Step2. You want to edit your device
file you have to type ‘edit’ on
screen. And then Press ENTER.
Step3. Now your file is edited.

4. MOVE
Step1. Go to MS-DOS.
Step2. You want to move your file
from another side, you have
to type ‘Move’ on your screen.
And Press ENTER.
Step3. Now, your file is moved.

5. SORT
Step1. Go to MS-DOS.
Step2.You want to filter on your file
type ‘sort’ and then press
ENTER.
Step3. After press ENTER your filter
file is ready.
