Job Description: Homeroom Teacher

School: Shenzhen IPC International Education


Location: Xili Lake, Nanshan District Shenzhen, Guangdong,
P.R.C. Reports to: Principal(s)
Key Job Specifications:
• Salary (ex. benefits) – 22,000-30,000RMB/month (pre-tax)
• Working Hours – 40 hours/week (Monday-Friday 8:00 - 16:30)
• Teaching Hours – 25 lessons/week
• Grades/Curriculum – Grades 1 - 5, IPC
• Accommodation allowance– 5,000 RMB/month
• Free working lunch
• Flight Reimbursement – Round trip ticket
• Visa – Work Permit, Residence Permit, notary/authentication fees can be reimbursed
with qualified receipt/invoice
• Insurance – Social insurance and commercial insurance (China life & AIA)
• Paid Leave – Chinese public holidays/ Christmas holidays/ Winter & Summer holidays
• Sick Leave – 10 days paid sick leave/personal leave per year
• Free tuition fee for the first child, 80% discount for the second child
A lump-sum continuity allowance to teachers who have completed a two-year contract
with a successful appraisal and are signing a new contract. The continuity allowance
amount is set by the SIPC referring to the terms of new Contract and Appraisal Result (5%
to 7% of annual salary). The allowance day will be on or before 31st December.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• 24-50 years of age
• Bachelor’s degree or above in General Education/English
• Qualified home-country teaching license will be a plus
• A good grasp of the methodology of teaching related subjects
• Have an understanding and ability to teach pupils of all abilities
• Experiences in an international school preferred
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for planning lessons and activities to Primary students that have different
level English skills. The will be expected to motivate and encourage students through a
creative teaching approach .
To be a successful Homeroom teacher, you should be able to create an environment that
is conducive to learning, as well as to encourage students to interact with each other to
improve their English and learning skills.
 Conduct activities and lessons based on IPC scheme to conduct English /Maths /
General Science teaching.
 Motivating students and using humor to induce a pleasant learning
environment.
 Maximizing students’ talk time through oral tests and presentations.
 Display good classroom management.
 Keep accurate records on student performance.
 Provide regular feedback to pupils and parents.
 Communicate with the Leaders or Principals, as needed.
 Be able to manage or work together with other subject teaching staff.
 Offer an after school club based on your skills and interests.
 Get involved with the House culture of the school.
