Case Study Analysis

Acme Whistles is a company which provides income to the employees. Everybody in the
company is responsible for the quality of the product and service.

INTRODUCTION

Back to 1870, Acme whistles was invented by Joseph Hudson where the London Metropolitan
Police requested. With that, the world’s first police whistle was born. The Acme company grew and
became to be the premier supplier pf whistles foe police forces around the world. The owner and
managing director of the company is Simon Topman. The machinery are modernized and the variety of
products become wider. However, despite of having a dramatically improvements of quality and
performance of products, the customers demanded the product to look the same. They also have
maintained the same manufacturing tradition from those early days. It also stated there that they also
do the same way as it was before but not by blowing them one by one, but by using an air line so the
same tradition of quality was endured

FINDINGS

Innovation is important for it makes the company grow. Just like other companies, the Acme
Whistles company struggles on how to find improvements and how to innovate their products that will
still meet the expectations and satisfactions of the customers. The problem in their company is that they
are lack in production process system or in quality control process.

DISCUSSIONS

As stated above, Acme Whistles is the small company and it influence to the activity of the firm
as the whole. Everybody in the company is responsible for the quality of the product and service. Every
employee feels himself as member of a big family and tries to contribute as much as possible to
company's success. Year by year company have been improved their product - whistles.

CONCLUSION

Running a company needs a huge understanding in all aspects especially in production. For a
company to be successful, improvements and innovations are needed. Utilizing total quality
management, worker involvement and process design is essential for a company, whether big or small,
to meet the customers expectations and to become bigger when it comes to business.
