We are pleased that you have agreed to write an original contribution intended for publication in
the Book, (provisionally) entitled:

Complexity, Chaos and Non-Linearity

Professor C. Hooker and Professor J. Collier will act as an Editor of this Book. This book will
be published as a volume of a series (provisionally) entitled:

Handbook of Philosophy of Sciences

This letter will inform you of the terms under which we will publish your contribution.

You will receive free of charge 1 (one) complimentary copy of the Book. You may purchase
additional copies of the Book at a discount of 40% for your personal use only but not for resale.
You may choose 1 (one) other complimentary copy from the Handbook of Philosophy of
Science volumes. Other titles from the Handbook of Philosophy of Science volumes can be
purchased at a discount of 40% off the list price for your personal use but not for resale. You
will also receive 50 (fifty) free reprints of your published contribution for your personal use, but
not for resale. You may purchase additional reprints for your personal use only, at our usual
rates.

Please communicate with the Editor(s) on all matters concerning the preparation of your
contribution. The Editor(s) will discuss with you the contents, length of your contribution and
the form in which the manuscript for your contribution is to be submitted, the date of delivery
and other requirements concerning your contribution.

Please provide the electronic files of your manuscript, preferably in TeX or LaTeX. In order to

manuscripts (compuscripts) If, in the opinion of the Editor(s) or ELSEVIER, your manuscript
does not meet our required scientific or technical standards, or if it is not in accordance with the
Instructions for Authors, or any other conditions agreed upon, the Editor(s) or ELSEVIER shall
be at liberty, at their discretion, to either not accept the manuscript for publication (in which
event ELSEVIER shall not be under any further obligation or liability to you), or if the
publication schedule allows, return the manuscript to you for revision.

In order to provide for the widest possible dissemination of your contribution, we ask you to
assign copyright in your contribution to us, including all subsidiary rights, electronic rights, and
all licensing rights, throughout the world and for the full term of copyright and any renewals
and extensions thereof. Your signature on this letter will constitute the assignment.

You may reproduce your contribution for educational and scientific purposes without fee or
permission with the exception of reproduction by services that collect fees for delivery of
documents. You may use part or all of your contribution in any future works of your own. In
any reproduction, the original publication by the Publisher must be credited in the following
manner: “First published in Complexity, Chaos and Non-Linearity [year], published by
ELSEVIER B.V.” and the copyright notice in proper form must be placed on all copies. Any
publication or other form of reproduction not meeting these requirements will be deemed to be
unauthorized.

Submission of your contribution constitutes your assurance that the material is your own
