WRITING TASK 2
In this 21st century, many experts have serious qualms about the
ever increasing population of the world. It goes without saying that
this is the most laborious threat to humanity until the present time for
some sore reasons.
In the first place, the growth of population concides with the big
improvement of medical treatment. In other words, many sorts of
medicine are founded to put an end to some incurable maladies in the
past. Penicillin, for instance, is considered to be the greatest invention
in the medical industry. And its chief function is to heal the infected
wound of patients. This medicine has saved human beings from some
diseases that used to be untreatable. Additionally, a great deal of
advanced apparatus has been applied in this field, meaning that
doctors are able to diagnose patients’ disease without a hitch.
Consequently, patients can be given the best treatment
instantaneously. For these reasons, life expectancy of majority of
individuals is prolonged, leading to the population explosion in the
world. What is more, the world population growth is also attributed to
slow actions of many national leaders. In the past, due to the
impoverishment of the comtemporary society, all households were
urged to have one or two kids only to maintain the financial status.
Nonetheless, when time goes by, people’s lives are more stable and
wealthy, so they are within rights to have more than two kids. As, a
result, loosening the family planning policy has resulted in the rapidly
increasing population all over the world. Set China as an example,
that the government failed to take urgent steps to hamper the incline
in population made it pass the point of one billion inhabitants.
An increasing population triggers a number of aftermaths to
humanity. For one thing, overpopulation is likely to occur, so it leads
to scarcity of food, water, and even accommodations. Besides that, in
populated areas, the rate of crime is redoubling, rendering the citizens
afraid of going out and doing outdoor activities. The standard of
living in these places is also declining due to environmental
degradation. Pollution is the crux of this problem with tons of
emissions are produced from vehicles every day and sewage from
households or factories contributes to destroying the ecological
system. Unemployment is definitely the worst consequence when it
comes to the world population growth because it is really challenging
to assist so many people in a community to deal with employment.
In conclusion, the recent increase of the world population results
from some aforementioned reasons, and its consequences deserve to
be taken into account. All individuals, especially the authorities, need
to get to grips with this problem as soon as possible so that there will
be no more serious outcome that happens in the future.
