TRANSLAGUAGING AND LEARNING OBJECTIVES.

PRE-WRITING The teacher will begin by presenting the rules, When can we use
Spanish? And will perform the first activity.
RULES:
 Students and teacher can use Spanish 5 times during the
lesson. Numbers from 1 to 5 will be written down on the
board, every time they speak Spanish a number will be erased.
 Frist brainstorming may be in Spanish.
 Students are expected to say: How do you say in English…….?
When they don’t know a word.
BRAINSTORMING:
 What comes to your mind when you think of vacations?
Students may answer in English or in Spanish, the teacher will
write down words on the board and then she’ll translate if
necessary. When translating she will teach and rehearse
pronunciation.
PAIR BRAINSTORMING:
 By pairs students will fill out a chart about their last vacation:
what did you do? Where did you go? What did you eat? What
did you like? What did you see? They may answer in English
or in Spanish and they can help each other. The teacher will
monitor their work and she will help students with vocabulary.
INDIVIDUAL BRAINSTORMING:
 Students will highlight or circle one item per column, they’ll
use this information in their paragraph.

WRITING The teacher will review the simple past. This review can be done in
Spanish and then she’ll go over some examples in English. She will first
present independent sentences and then she’ll write her own
paragraph, she will make emphasis on the past form of regular and
irregular verbs and the use of conjunctions: first, then, and, but, after,
finally.
Students will write their own narrative – descriptive paragraph about
their last vacation.
PEER REVISION Students will Exchange their paragraphs with a friend and according to
the teacher they will: underline verbs in the past form, circle
conjunctions and highlight adjectives. She will give instructions in
English and only if students request them, she will give instructions in
Spanish.
