Unit 3.1- Cognitive Perspective
Lesson 5 – Bruner’s Constructivist Theory
Activity: Think of a topic that you studied when you were in your
preschool/elementary years, then studied again in high school, and then in college.
1. What was the topic?
Operation on Fractions

2. Try to recall how the topic was discussed in class (use visual aids, field trips,
etc.)
The topic discuss through formulations and solving

3. What have you learned about the topic during your elementary, then during
your high school and then during your college years.

During my elementary years I learn a lot from thus lesson. As you know I'm
good at mathematics at early age. I learn that in ading a fraction in same
denominator is simply add the numerator and copy the denominator and the same
in subtraction. In multiplication if there is divisible in numerator and denominator
simplify and then multiply the numerator to numerator and then denominator to
denominator. In division simply reciprocal the divedend then multiply to the divisor
with same rule of multiplication.
In my high school learning we go deeper the number became complicated and there
is not only one but many numbers and there is some application in algebra and
trigonometry. The fraction operation is very wide topic that most of the lesson in
math has it. I learn a lot during this time because of having a good teacher is a
blessing.
And in my college days the more it became complicated the fraction operations is
apply in calculus that is very hard to solved. It involves difficult symbols that normal
students cannot answer.

4. Was there a difference in the depth and breadth of the topic as you moved
from level to level?

Yes, the higher the level the higher the learnings. Students never stop
learning from the bottom to the top. Students are the endless cycle of life that even
though we are graduated we always learn like a student in higher order and form.
Exploration of the lesson was very interesting part of the student’s life so learn and
cherish someday it will help us.

Unit 4 – Focus on Classroom Processes

Unit 4.1

Lesson 2- Theories on Factors Affecting Motivation

Reflect on your own performance. To what factor do you attribute this

performance? How do this factors influence your motivation for learning?

This new generation students’ performance was based on their abilities own
abilities. The factor attribute my burning desire in school was my financial status,
my family and also my classmates. The performance of mine was always at the
average level that sometimes i tend to be neutral in the classroom.

Throughout my life this factor attributed my performance was my sword and

sheild. Sometimes when i commit mistakes i always think of its consequences so
that i cannot be swayed by the evil that surrounds me. My classmates always
motivate me to perform well in class. They always remind me everything what to be
done so that i may not mislead the way that is good for me. Reaching the path of
success is my goal. Success is always in my top priority in reaching my dream. The
path.of success depends on the motivation of the individuals. In my financial status
even i am poor my parents sustain my needs in school. My parents always love me
in return i love them very much also. It influences me in creating the motivational
standards. Money was source of everything and in money it helps me grow stronger
and use it properly so that the effort of my family was in vain. And on my classmates
it always helps me to remind and remember everything what to need and they
always care about me and i also care about them. In creating a relationship you must
be good at all times.

In the end this factor greatly improved my learning. It helps me to study hard as
i could so that I can help them someday. I myself created a positive learning ability
to focus on everything on what I have done. Focusing on learning is great it helps me
to learn faster and the success rate is high. Rather than usual thing it benefits me a
lot to serve my learning as a wealth to myself. Learning cannot be taken by others
instead to be cherished and improve everyday through experiencing the difficulties
in life.
